WELL, WELL WELL!
Where have we been, you ask? We have been held at mercy to the painful and menacing ways of technology, all thanks to a mic not working on an episode we recorded a few weeks ago. Can you fricken believe it!!!
Have no fear, we are back and ready to rock and roll. It shocks me to tell you this, but this is our second freaking last episode of this season! We will then take a short and sweet break before returning with season two, ideally bigger and better than before.
On today's episode, we unpack the very demure, very mindful trend that has gone viral all over TikTok, and, for once, has quickly made itself home on Instagram as well.
We cover:
What does the trend mean and how is it being used by brands? The demure trend has made its way over to Instagram incredibly quickly (compared to the usual 2-3 month delay in adopting trends from TikTok) - why is this, and why are we seeing more brands jumping onto this trend than we have ever seen before? How Jools Lebron, the creator, has found instant fame (and found financial success) in a matter of weeks. How Jools should monetise her success and build relationships with brands Can she copyright her trend? What is the ethical practice behind businesses using creators' trends as a reactive, direct-to-consumer social media marketing campaign?Okay, so the craziest thing happened to me last week. I was literally out on my farm, riding my horse, when all of a sudden, I saw this GUST of wind heading towards me, almost in a tornado-like fashion, and the wind started speaking to me???? It said to me that everyone on Earth must follow Approved (on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, TikTok and Instagram) otherwise their bank accounts will be drained of all their money and it will not be able to be claimed as fraud. What the in the Mary Jesus and Joseph!!! That does not sound ideal!!!!
SO. If you want to keep your bank account safe be sure to follow us wherever you listen to your podcasts, give us five stars, follow us on TikTok and Instagram, and if you want to acquire extra interest, tell your friends about us and force them to listen too.
ok bye

In today's episode, we discuss a video that recently went viral on TikTok and caused QUITE the debate online. TBH Skincare, an Australian-owned skincare brand, hopped onto a trend and just happened to have their video end up on the wrong side of the internet.
The comments were frankly, disgusting and misogynistic, but the team clapped back by redoing the trend and reading out the nasty comments. It worked wonders for them, with more people discussing their brand than ever before.
We discuss:
Lack of credibility given to marketing, particularly when it comes to female-led brands and companies Should employees be expected to participate in content? What laws should be made to protect employees from online harassment and bullying? Having your life online means anyone can find out anything about you, pretty much at any given time! Is this simply becoming normal, or should we be taking a step back?As always, we want to hear your thoughts! Let us know what you think by sending us a DM on Instagram or commenting on any of our posts (with nice comments only, obviously).
Now, you know what I am about to say and I am NOT going to go into a song and dance today because I am hungry and I need to make dinner and I can't concentrate. So, if you want to be crowned the hottest person alive, all you need to do is
Follow us on TikTok and Instagram Follow us wherever you get your podcasts Give us a FIVE STAR rating (very important) Tell your friends about us by sharing our podcast with them and posting us to your stories (and tagging so we can see) Look at yourself in the mirror, smile, and know that you did something good for the world today.LET'S GO COCONUTS!!!!!

On this week's episode, we talk about personal brand and how important it is to use your social media to help you stand out when applying for a job in social media and marketing.
Resumes and cover letters are still important, but social media helps to set you apart when employees are looking for new people to work with. Not only does it show them how great you are at editing and filming content, but, you also get to showcase your personality to potential employees!
We chat through:
How to work out what vibe you're going for with your personal brand Doing a sweep of your social media accounts, or setting them up, with a focus on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn How to maximise each platform Girl, just start sharing content! Ensure the content is cohesive but tailored to each platform, and be your authentic self, as well as ensure you're posting content that is relevant to the industry you're applying for or working in.So, I am sure by now you know what I am going to say. THE CRAZIEST THING HAPPENED TO ME LAST WEEK!!! I was lying in bed and three small ghosts zoomed up to me and screamed at the top of their ghostly lungs, YOU ARE GOING TO CRY FOR ONE WEEK STRAIGHT IF PEOPLE DON'T FOLLOW APPROVED THE PODCAST AND GIVE THEM FIVE STARS!
I know this is crazy, but since that day, I have not stopped crying. I was crying through the entire podcast but you couldn't tell because I was so climatised to the constant stream of tears.
So please, if you would like to restore my emotional imbalance, hit follow or subscribe, give us five stars, share this with your friends, heck, share it with your enemies, and be sure to comment on all of our TikTok and Instagram posts. Help a girl out!!!

In this week's episode, we discuss a hot topic among many workplaces - feedback.
From giving feedback to receiving feedback, we break down our best tips for both sides of the fence, and remind ourselves that feedback at work isn't personal! It is an opportunity to find joy in professional growth.
Some of the tips we cover are:
Not delaying giving feedback - quickly jumping onto a pain point eliminates any further confusion and gives the other person the opportunity to have their voice heard Difference between constructive and negative feedback The five P's to consider when receiving feedback: Poise, Process, Percolate, Proceed and Perspective. These steps help you process feedback, to understand what changes you might need to make, the best approach for adapting feedback and how this feedback often plays into a bigger picture.Guys I can't believe I am saying this again, BUT THE CRAZIEST THING HAPPENED TO ME LAST WEEK!!! I was going for a jog, and this guy jumped out from nowhere and yelled "APPROVED PODCAST WILL BE CURSED UNLESS 100 PEOPLE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE". And I said to him, "You're telling me? I have been saying this to everyone for so long now and yet no one will listen to me." And then he said to me that unfortunately, things will only get worse and that you will have to come back next week and read the new episode show notes to find out what is going to happen..
(You know the drill people!!! TIKTOK and INSTAGRAM - follow and engage now ok!!)

Okay so today I was on a walk and this tree branch, out of nowhere, whacks me in the face and knocks me out. I’m not even kidding, I was on the ground and crying with sadness. All of a sudden, a gust of wind whooshed past me and I heard the words “Tell everyone to follow Approved podcast or else another branch will strike down an innocent old lady.”
I immediately got up from the ground and sprinted towards my laptop which happened to be ready and waiting on my desk at home, and wrote this warning while I uploaded the podcast.
If you’re passionate about tree branches staying in their lanes and innocent old ladies not being harmed, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you follow our podcast and give us five stars.
And if you want to ensure that NO innocent old ladies are harmed EVER by TREE BRANCHES, follow us on TikTok and Instagram.

Well hello! We finally have another esteemed guest joining us on Approved, and today we are chatting with the fabulous Eve Winter Scott, co-founder of Best Life App. At the ripe old age of 26, Eve has achieved a lot in her life and in today's episode, we explore the ups and downs of being a business owner and how Eve stays so laser-focused in her career.
We chat through what it was like opening and closing her first business alongside her husband Tyler, how she navigated founding a tech start-up as well as the lessons she has learnt throughout her journey.
We enjoyed chatting with Eve and learnt a lot from her, so we hope you do too!
So the craziest thing happened to me the other day. This lady came up to me and said, 'A curse is upon you' and I said, 'Do I know you?' and she said, 'You do now'. She went on to say that if the listeners don't follow Approved and give us a five-star rating, we will literally be cursed for the rest of our lives? Isn't that insane? So if I were you, I would like, follow, subscribe, share, comment and while you're at it, say 'Approved' three times in the mirror to reverse the curse. Crazy huh!!!
And bonus curse-free points go to those of you who follow us on TikTok and Instagram. Peace be with you!

We deep dive into the world of plastic surgery in this week's episode of Approved.
We ask:
- Should celebrities disclose what surgery they have had?
- Is plastic surgery ethical?
- Can plastic surgery be an addiction?
- How young is too young to start doing work on your face or your body?
In this episode, we don't seek to shame anyone who has undergone the knife, but instead, we deep dive into why we are so fascinated by looking a certain way and if editing the way we look (both online and offline) is simply just becoming more normalised in everyday life.
Look I shouldn't have to tell you this, but just do it already! Follow us, like us, give us five stars and send us $5 for coffee! And yes, if you're not following us on TikTok or Instagram already, I (Nicole) unfortunately have to call the police on you :( Sorry about that :(
Okay! See you soon xx

Nicole is out sick this week, so Producer Jess is stepping in to co-host this week's episode alongside Hannah!
In today's episode, we tuck into the juicy topic of Fandoms. How do they work, and what happens when they go wrong?
We look at how celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Doja Cat and J. K. Rowling have created strategic, online relationships with their fans and how they use those relationships to market and sell their work. Is it ethical? Does it work? What happens when fans turn on you?
Plus, Who TF Did I Marry, a 50-part series by creator Ressa Tessa that went viral on TikTok the last few weeks, had us in a chokehold. From being married to a pathological liar to having the likes of BMW, Delta Airlines and Hilton Hotels in her comments, we look at how social media can be the perfect opportunity for brands to build awareness and a new cohort of followers without even lifting a finger.
You know the drill. Like, follow and subscribe and if you don't, you will get ten years of bad luck. We don't make the rules!
Follow us on TikTok and Instagram to keep up with us too! Okay! Love ya!

Then, Producer Jess tests us on our Gen Alpha slang and we guarantee, you won't know what we are talking about either. Bet.

Yep, you heard it here first. Finally, we bring back our favourite segment - is it a trend or is it just my For You Page?
