Tonight's bedtime story comes from a book that my cousin picked out for me at a local bookshop! The Little Lame Prince was a classic many years ago, but it seems to have been forgotten in the last few decades. I really enjoyed reading it! It was my first time reading the story and I thought it would be more natural for me to read it to you for the first time together.
This episode also features some soft rain sounds which were inspired by the rain that we've been having recently. The creator of this rain sound is Giorgio Magarò, who is a content creator on YouTube! If you enjoy the gentle sounds that they've created, please feel free to give them a little love to show them your appreciation. It was lovely to find a royalty-free sound to use for this episode!

For tonight's story, I thought I'd continue reading more of Heidi by Johanna Spyri. Listen as I read you chapters 2-3 of this beautiful classic where we'll follow Peter and Little Heidi up to the top of the mountains with the flock of lively goats. Alm Uncle seems a little kinder in chapter 2 than he did in chapter 1....what do you think?

Welcome to the first episode of Season 2 of ASMR Bedtime Stories!
Tonight's story starts with Chapter 1 of Johanna Spyri's, Swiss classic, Heidi. You might be surprised to learn that this book was originally published in 1881 and turns 140 this year! I remember reading this book as a young child and loving every minute of Heidi's antics with Alm Uncle. I hope you find it as wonderful as I do!

Tonight's episode features a traditionally beloved fairy tales for lots of folks! Hans Christien Anderson's 'The Ugly Duckling' is a little darker than you may remember from your childhood, but I think it makes the ending that much sweeter. This episode does come with a trigger warning at the start, just in case you're not in a place to listen to some topics right now.

This episode is an extra long one! After debating on whether or not to break it up into smaller episodes, I decided that it was best listened to in one go so you wouldn't have to worry about finding out how the story ends.
Hans Christien Anderson's 'The Snow Queen' served as the original inspiration for a certain popular movie franchise although there isn't much of the original story in the movie! I hope you enjoy this version as much as I do.

This episode brings you a few folktales from the Ashanti Tribe (Ghana) in West Africa. One of my favorite frequenters of West African lore is Anansi, and I loved being able to read some of his tales for you tonight! I highly recommend reading more about him and his place in Ashanti culture.
Thank you all so much for being patient with me while I've been sick. It's meant so much to see the kind messages you've sent checking in. You're the best and I appreciate you!
If you'd like folktales read from your country, just let me know! I'm happy to bring a little bit of your home back to you.

This week's bedtime stories include Little Red Riding Hood, The Fox and The Cat, Mrs. Fox Remarried, and another bonus episode that you'll have to listen to find out ;)
I have more Grimm's Fairytales to read, so feel free to let me know what your favorites are and I'll be happy to read them to you!

Tonight's episode features a lovely edition of Anderson's Fairy Tales that my amazing spouse found at an antique shop in town! The illustrations are lovely and my old copy was so tattered (I read the binding glue off of my paperback copy) it was a wonderful surprise :)
In this episode, I whisper two fairly popular stories of Hans Christien Anderson's to help soothe you to sleep. It's always a pleasure to read you a bedtime story!

Tonight's bedtime story features Snow-White and her sister, Rose-Red. Not all fairytales have wicked mothers or neglectful fathers! I really enjoyed trying out some new voices for this story :) I hope you enjoy!

Tonight's episode was specially requested from a follower on Twitter - thank you for the suggestions, CakiePamy! This version of Cinderella is a bit darker than the Disney version you may be familiar with, but I hope it's soothing to you nonetheless. Tonight's bedtime story comes from a new addition to my collection: The Madonna of the Tubs, by Mrs. Ward. I especially like that this book comes with illustrations and has an inscription in the front (from 1907!). The book itself was published in 1886, which make this one a lovely old find. This episode is extra long because it's the full book! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed reading it. Let me know what you think!

Tonight's whispered bedtime story reminds me a lot of Mr. Toad and Mr. Frog from the Wind in the Willows! Sandman's Stories of Snowed-In Hut is a short story compilation written in the early 1900s. It features A Fox, a Possum, and a Racoon trying to snuggle in and get ready for a winter storm but they find an unwelcome guest and a secret tunnel in their new home! Snuggle up and get ready for a nice long listen as I read you to sleep.

**New episodes are out on Sundays for the Summer**
Hi there! Just wanted to do a quick whispered ramble episode updating you on my new recording schedule and some lovely books I found at a local shop in my new town. I hope that's ok with you!
My new home isn't as soundproof as my old home and we live off of a busy street so I'd rather do one good episode a week than put out two poorly done episodes. I appreciate your patience and understanding!

**This episode is done in soft-spoken ASMR**
This story from Norway is one of my favorites, so I hope you enjoy it too! My grandmother used to read it to me as a kid growing up, so I have a lot of fond memories with her and this folktale. Sweet dreams!
If you'd like folktales read from your country, just let me know! I'm happy to bring a little bit of your home back to you.

This episode is a companion episode to Edgar Allen Poe's 'How to Write a Blackwood Article'. A Predicament features Signora Psyche Zenobia (not Miss Suky Snobbs!) while she embarks on an adventure to inspire her first Blackwood Article. Her article seems to be successful, but at what cost?

This is another episode featuring two of many stories in an old fairytale book I own called the Brown Fairy Book. These two stories aren't marked with origin countries in my book, but they have a lot of German/Bulgarian tones to them. If you recognize where they're from, let me know! I'd love to know where they come from for sure.
You might recognize the first story as being very familiar to another fairytale I read to you a few weeks ago... I love how fairytales travel and change in different places around the world. I hope you enjoy this whispered reading!
