Welcome back to Bibliomania. Today I had the incredible honor of interviewing Dr. Betty Martin. Betty is an author and the creator of the wheel of consent. The wheel of consent helps people better understand the meaning behind consent while giving individuals the opportunity to explore their desired pleasures.
Betty has spend her time better understanding the meaning of touch to heal and encourage pleasure. Betty said "We grow up learning that touch is this thing that happens to you , whether you like it or not. Might be good might be not, but you can't really stop it." Betty talks about how touch is a choice. You have a choice of how you want to be touched. She believes in creating awareness around the things you want when it comes to being touched.
Betty believes in actively practicing the art of touch while receiving first. She wrote a book called "The Art of Receiving and Giving" that helps people begin to open up and have an open dialogue on what they want, where, and when. In this book, she created the concept of the wheel of consent. It came about by having two people asking each other how do you want to touch me and how do you want to be touched by me. This creates the quadrants of giving, doing, receiving, and being done to. As two people go through this game, they can explore what they truly want and create more authentic pleasure in their life.Visit Bettys website
