  • You've heard it all before. "Be smart with your credit!" "Build wealth so you can leave a legacy!" But is that advice based on creating generational wealth, or just a theoretical concept? Or...just easy for coaches to throw out there because it sounds good?

In this episode of the Black & Bankable CEO Conversations Series, I'm interviewing Janelle Brown, a Serial Entrepreneur. She (her husband and dad) own Brown Homes & More. During the pandemic, Janelle opened a bookstore. Yep you read that correctly. She opened a brick and mortar bookstore when many businesses were shutting down.

You've just got to hear her story, how her businesses are thriving, and how she plan to keep them that way!!! Our real, unscripted, conversation explores some strategies for building business credit and generational wealth based on real-life experiences from entrepreneurs who've done it first hand, and the complete opposite - who have failed to do so. Let's crack the code together.

  • Today’s reality has many of us working from home either by choice or force. In most of my “mom circles”, mothers (or fathers) have found that the household saves more money when one of the parents stays home with their kids instead of shelling out thousands of dollars a month on childcare expenses. And this is just one of the many reasons many in the world are PIVOTING.

Small business created during the pandemic is appearing to be the “natural choice” for many individuals. According to the U.S. Census Bureau business applications of all sizes nearly doubled during the first few months of the pandemic in 2020, jumping from 234,362 in April to 558,688 in July 2020. In October 2021, business applications were at 427,842.

So now that you’ve started that business, let’s ensure that you have all the tools you need to run a profitable business that’s in this thing for the long run. Check in with me on this Episode - Small Business Tax Filings For Your Home Based Business.

  • I'm often asked to share the "why" behind creating the Black & Bankable CEO Podcast. The truth is, there are many inspirations - many of which I'll share with you on the episodes to come. However, the pivotable inspiration that I'll never forget happened on July 23, 2020.

On that day, I returned to my old stomping grounds - Washington DC - to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

I’m remain honored and extremely grateful for such a platform to speak on minority small business challenges to access to funding.

Before the Black & Bankable CEO Podcast, there was D.C. Check out this short clip from my Senate testimony. Get to know me. Together, let's get your business what 2022 owes you.
