  • In this week’s episode, I am joined by a client who went through my self-study Anxiety Relief Workshop Bundle—Kimberly!

    Kim is an elopement, destination wedding, and family photographer who had anxiety since she was little but wasn’t diagnosed until later in life when she went through a huge life change after getting married and moving to a new city where she did not speak the language and didn’t know anyone except her husband. Then, she had babies and decided to go on medication postpartum when she realized her kids were being affected by her struggles with her mental health.

    In this episode, Kim and I discuss how she used the workshop bundle to successfully come off 100mg of Zoloft, stabilize her thyroid health, and stop taking the beta blockers she was on for her racing heart. We talk about what she changed about her diet, the supplements she took,  how she built resilience to face the stresses of life without falling into full-blown panic attacks, and how she lost 30 pounds by adjusting her exercise to her cycle! 

    Your lifestyle is the biggest factor in whether you can be medication-free or not, and I hope Kim’s story inspires you to do the work and take control of your mental health!

    And when I say "permanently break up with your anxiety," I'm not talking about those occasional anxious thoughts or feelings—maybe two to three times a year, which is normal. We're human, after all, and it's perfectly normal to experience a range of emotions. However, there's a significant difference between experiencing the occasional emotion of anxiety and living with an anxiety disorder.

    In this episode, Jonathan and I discuss how he uses Ecstasy-Assisted Therapy to help people with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and marriage counseling. He walks us through a typical MDMA therapy session, contraindications, who would be a good candidate for this kind of therapy, who would not be, methods for not believing your anxious thoughts, legal concerns, and so much more!

  • In this week’s episode, I am joined by another amazing client - Alex!

    Alex first started to experience anxiety in high school, and as it was left untreated, it progressively worsened until they decided to go on medication in university. Initially, the medication helped them to feel more in control, until 2020, which was, of course, very stressful for many people.

    At this point, Alex was in the last year of their undergrad, about to start their master's. Not only did the anxiety and irrational thoughts worsen despite being on medication, journaling, and working with a naturopath, but a lot of gut issues also started to present themselves, like nausea, IBS-D, SIBO, and insomnia.

    Alex was just about to start working as a therapist and, as they put it, they had three options: increase the medication, change the medication, or figure out a different solution.

    The different solution was working with me, learning how to support their body optimally through a customized dietary plan, customized supplements, supporting drainage pathways, addressing SIBO and parasites, and so much more that we discuss in this episode!

    I’m so excited for you to hear this conversation, and I hope it inspires you to decide that it’s time to dive in, do the work, and take control of your mental health.

  • So many concerned parents reach out to me, not because they have anxiety, but because their children or teenagers do. Although I definitely have an understanding of what might be happening, as I work with a lot of adults who have had anxiety since they were young or for as long as they can remember, I do not have the capacity at this time to expand my practice to working with children and teenagers. So, I really wanted to have a resource I could direct all these concerned parents to! 

    Today’s guest, Dr. Cayley, is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a special passion for Pediatrics and supporting the whole family in achieving optimal health through addressing the root cause of symptoms. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and utilizes evidence-based methods, as she has training in both conventional and natural medicine modalities.   • In this week’s episode, I am joined by another amazing Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Coaching Program client - Annika! 

    Annika’s anxiety and daily panic attacks were significantly affecting her nursing career. Her doctor advised her that medication was pretty much her only option, with no guarantee of relief, and anxiety was something she would probably have to live with her whole life.

    Unfortunately, this bleak prognosis reflects a common perspective in the medical community. Many people don't realize that healthcare is highly specialized. Your doctor, in fact, doesn’t know everything. They typically focus on treating specific symptoms or conditions within their area of expertise, prioritizing pharmacological solutions because that is what they have been trained to do. Holistic or lifestyle-based approaches to mental health struggles are not in their wheelhouse.

  • Today we are talking all about postpartum anxiety with Dr. Jenna who, as a mom of 3, understands the whirlwind that is postpartum and motherhood. 

    With every pregnancy, not only has a baby been born, but so has a mother. This time called Matrescence (the process of becoming a mother) is a time of massive physical, mental and spiritual change. Despite how the current care of mothers is set up, healing does not end at 6 weeks postpartum. The mother needs just as much care as the baby (if not more) during those initial months. This is exactly where Dr. Jenna’s passion lies, helping women recover and thrive during such an overwhelming time of life. 

    Postpartum depression and anxiety can occur beyond the first six weeks after giving birth, often peaking at around 6 to 9 months. It is important to be aware of this and recognize that these feelings are not a reflection of your abilities as a mother. Instead, this is influenced by hormonal changes, increased stress levels, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar dysregulation, the demands of pregnancy and breastfeeding on the body, and the lack of support for new moms. All of which is not a reflection of a mother's ability to cope, but rather a physiological response that can be addressed with proper support. Which is exactly what we cover in today’s episode!
