Canadian Thanksgiving has come and gone, and with American Thanksgiving just around the corner, the holiday season is officially here! Christmas, New Year’s—it’s all coming up fast. In today’s episode, I’m talking about how to keep your anxiety in check during this busy time of year!
Every year, I get tons of questions from clients about how to stay on track with eating and lifestyle habits over the holidays. These habits have been working so well to keep their anxiety far away, but the busyness and lack of routine during this season can make it hard to stick to what’s been working. If my clients are asking this every year, I’m guessing it’s on your mind too!
I hope this episode helps you feel more grounded and ready to enjoy the holidays, hopefully free from anxiety! As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts—send me a message on Instagram after you’ve listened @tay.gendron
In this episode, I mentioned two apps I love: Ladder for progressive strength training and Opal, which helps you stay focused on what truly matters, making each day more intentional and productive.

Today, we’re tackling a topic that impacts so many women: how to come off birth control without increasing anxiety. This episode is inspired by my own journey and the many questions I’ve been receiving.
We’ll cover questions like: Is the pill making my anxiety worse? Should you taper off birth control gradually like you would with SSRIs? Why do so many symptoms appear after stopping the pill? Is going on the pill a good idea for managing mood and anxiety, as some doctors suggest? And if you’ve recently stopped a progesterone-only pill to return to a natural cycle, how can you support your body while it adjusts?
If you’re considering transitioning off birth control or just want to understand how it can impact your mental health, this episode is for you!
If you’re interested in charting your cycle, check out Justisse: Chart Your Cycle.
Some great books I recommend in this episode include Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler, Beyond the Pill by Jolene Brighten, and In the FLO by Alisa Vitti.

Today’s episode is special because I’m doing things a bit differently and bringing on a friend who played a huge role in my journey to break free from anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and medication.
Kelsi and I met when our lives looked very different. We were working at a bar and partying into the early hours nearly every night. Then, on June 6, 2013, Kelsi got sober after a life-changing experience in rehab—a turning point that deeply impacted me. About a year later, I hit my own rock bottom, and watching Kelsi transform her life helped me see that there was a way out of the cycle I was stuck in.
In this episode, I’m taking you back to that messy 2011-2014 chapter of my life, when my anxiety, depression, and panic were at their peak, and I was using substances to cope. We talk about the “butterfly effect,” how one person’s journey can set off ripples in another’s, and how Kelsi’s path toward sobriety inspired my own journey toward mental health and recovery.
Today, Kelsi is a wife, a stepmom, and a business owner who helps women grow their brands online. She openly shares her story about mental health and recovery, and her DMs are always open to anyone re-evaluating their relationship with alcohol.

This week on The Breaking Up With Anxiety® Podcast, it's another Ask Me Anything episode where I answer a great question from you—my amazing community! Specifically, about exercise and anxiety.
The question is: "I hear you say you're a spin addict and you love spinning... is that a type of exercise you recommend for anxiety?"
Short answer… no!
In this episode, I explain why high-intensity exercises like spinning aren’t ideal if you have anxiety, especially if you're dealing with hormonal imbalances or adrenal issues. Instead, I break down how to adjust your workouts based on the four phases of your menstrual cycle. We cover which exercises are most beneficial in each phase, how to avoid over-exercising, and why strength training might be a better option for long-term mental health.
If you’ve ever wondered how to balance your workouts with your hormones and anxiety, this episode is for you. Plus, I share how I personally cycle-sync my own exercise routine!

This week on The Breaking Up With Anxiety® Podcast, it's another Ask Me Anything episode where I answer a great question from you—my amazing community!
The question is: "Do you recommend eating before or after exercising? I’m particularly asking in the morning because I want to start intermittent fasting, but with my hormones in mind—especially during my period when I’m hungrier earlier and don’t want to put my body under stress by holding off on eating. How do you recommend getting exercise in the morning?"

In this week’s episode of The Breaking Up With Anxiety® Podcast, I’m joined by Todd, Co-Founder of Komusō!
Todd helped develop the Shift, a breathing necklace designed to help reduce stress in situations like commuting, work meetings, traveling, falling asleep, overthinking, and social anxiety.
I personally have the Classic Shift necklace in gold, and I absolutely love it. It’s inspired by 17th-century Japanese monks who used a flute to find stillness.
Before Komusō, Todd knew very little about wellness and unknowingly suffered from high-functioning anxiety. Learning about the science of breath completely transformed his daily life, from how he wakes up, eats, and drives, to how he interacts with others and sleeps. Now, Todd is dedicated to educating the world about how better breathing can be a life-changing habit.
In this episode, Todd and I chat about how we both struggled with "traditional" meditation due to anxiety and found alternative ways to incorporate breathwork into our daily routines. Todd introduces the concept of preventative vs. rescue breathing, which changed my approach to breathwork, and shares his realization that anxiety isn't a personality trait—you can retrain your brain! And so much more!
I loved this conversation, and I hope it gives you some powerful insights into how breathwork can be an effective tool for kicking anxiety to the curb.

In this week’s episode of The Breaking Up With Anxiety Podcast, I am joined by another Breaking Up With Anxiety Program client… Brittany!
Brittany is a personal trainer whose struggles with anxiety began after experiencing a severe panic attack in an airport, which resulted in a trip to the emergency room. She ended up going on medication, even though she didn’t want to, because she was barely functioning. She couldn’t leave the house, run errands by herself, and didn’t want to be left alone because of the panic attacks. She constantly felt like she might die at any moment. All she wanted was to feel like herself again.
Through gut testing with her functional health doctor and bioresonance testing with me, we discovered she had several parasites and multiple bacterial imbalances that were keeping her stuck in her symptoms.
Now that she’s finished her detox protocol, Brittany’s here to share her story about everything she did to break up with anxiety and finally feel like herself again!
I hope this episode helps you, and as always, I would love to hear your thoughts! Send me a message on Instagram and let me know what you think of the episodes. I love connecting with you, and if there’s a topic you’d like me to dive into, let me know!

This week on The Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Podcast, I’m joined by my coach and personal trainer, Alanna, who is a registered practical nurse and the founder of Athleisure Society!
Alanna and her team at Athleisure Society specialize in body recomposition—transforming the ratio of fat to muscle—while empowering clients with knowledge about nutrition and the strength of intentional training.
I signed up for Athleisure Society because I really wanted to better understand how to build healthy muscle, optimize my time in the gym, ensure I was lifting weights properly with good form, prevent injury, and, of course, learn more about body recomposition.
In this episode, we cover:
Why I decided to hire support and work with AlannaMy gradual weight gain, why it happened, and what I didn’t realize at the timeHow much protein you really needHow focusing on your health can actually save you moneyWhy just 3 full-body workouts a week can help you achieve your dream body and why weight training is so importantWhat “progressive overload” and “technical failure” mean in weight trainingWhy resting between sets is crucialWhat the ideal workout plan looks like for your dream bodyAnd no, lifting weights will not make you bulky! We explain why in this episode!I’m super excited for you to hear this conversation, and I hope it inspires you to start lifting heavy!

On today’s episode of The Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Podcast, I’m excited to welcome back my therapist, Chantal Wade, who I have been working with since 2016!
I invited Chantal back on the podcast because I wanted to provide a resource for anyone struggling with anxiety around food, emotional relationships with food, and disordered eating. I want to emphasize that I’m not qualified to work with anyone who has a current or history of disordered eating unless they are also working with a therapist at the same time as me.
In this episode, Chantal and I delve into the two main camps of disordered eating:
Camp One: The part of us that tries to control through shame, driven by fear of failure, rejection, and abandonment. This control gives us a false sense of safety.Camp Two: The part of us that numbs and distracts, using food to numb emotional pain.We discuss how disordered eating is not really about food, your body, or what others think of you—it’s a symptom of unhealed emotional wounds.
I hope this episode helps you, and as always, I would love to hear your thoughts! Send me a message on Instagram and let me know what you think of the episodes. I love connecting with you, and if there’s a topic you’d like me to dive into, let me know!

In this week’s episode, I am joined by a client who went through my self-study Anxiety Relief Workshop Bundle—Kimberly!
Kim is an elopement, destination wedding, and family photographer who had anxiety since she was little but wasn’t diagnosed until later in life when she went through a huge life change after getting married and moving to a new city where she did not speak the language and didn’t know anyone except her husband. Then, she had babies and decided to go on medication postpartum when she realized her kids were being affected by her struggles with her mental health.
In this episode, Kim and I discuss how she used the workshop bundle to successfully come off 100mg of Zoloft, stabilize her thyroid health, and stop taking the beta blockers she was on for her racing heart. We talk about what she changed about her diet, the supplements she took, how she built resilience to face the stresses of life without falling into full-blown panic attacks, and how she lost 30 pounds by adjusting her exercise to her cycle!
Your lifestyle is the biggest factor in whether you can be medication-free or not, and I hope Kim’s story inspires you to do the work and take control of your mental health!

Today we are joined on The Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Podcast by Jonathan Robinson, a psychotherapist and the author of "Ecstasy as Medicine: How MDMA Therapy Can Help You Overcome Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression and Feel More Love."
My goal with this podcast is to explore a wide variety of anti-anxiety perspectives and tools from experts in their fields, offering you as many options as possible, so that you can find what works for you to permanently break up with your anxiety!
And when I say "permanently break up with your anxiety," I'm not talking about those occasional anxious thoughts or feelings—maybe two to three times a year, which is normal. We're human, after all, and it's perfectly normal to experience a range of emotions. However, there's a significant difference between experiencing the occasional emotion of anxiety and living with an anxiety disorder.
In this episode, Jonathan and I discuss how he uses Ecstasy-Assisted Therapy to help people with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and marriage counseling. He walks us through a typical MDMA therapy session, contraindications, who would be a good candidate for this kind of therapy, who would not be, methods for not believing your anxious thoughts, legal concerns, and so much more!

Sobriety, they believe, is the ultimate invitation to everything you want, and I couldn't agree more!
In this episode, Michaela, Erinn, and I discuss how we have all used substances to cope with heavy feelings and anxiety, how alcohol limits us by affecting our relationships, friendships, and our sense of self. We dive into the positive impact sobriety has had on our personal and professional lives, how not drinking feels like gaining superpowers, the different phases of sobriety and the support needed for each, whether everyone needs AA, strategies for building a personalized sobriety toolkit, and so much more!

Today's guest on The Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Podcast is Jasmin! She's a mom of three incredible humans, a Registered Nurse, and a Hormone Nutritionist, helping women balance their hormones so they can lose weight sustainably, regain energy, and 'fix' their periods.
Jasmin understands the frustrations many women face when told by their doctors that there’s ‘not much’ that can be done about their symptoms - hearing things like, "It’s your age, It’s in your genes, This is just what happens, Everything looks good on paper." With over 17 years of experience in the healthcare space, Jasmin is here to challenge that narrative and help women take their power back, finding natural solutions as they learn to replenish their bodies and balance their hormones to feel their best.
In this episode, Jasmin and I discuss the lack of education around women’s health and hormones, the necessity for women to truly understand their bodies and take control of their health, the limitations of bloodwork from medical doctors, how to make sustainable changes in health habits, the importance of supporting liver health for effective hormone balance, how sluggish detox pathways, thyroid health, adrenal function, and inflammation contribute to low energy levels in women, and also explore understanding the underlying causes of symptoms rather than simply suppressing them, simplifying meal prep, building balanced meals, and so much more!

In this week’s episode, I am joined by another amazing client - Alex!
Alex first started to experience anxiety in high school, and as it was left untreated, it progressively worsened until they decided to go on medication in university. Initially, the medication helped them to feel more in control, until 2020, which was, of course, very stressful for many people.
At this point, Alex was in the last year of their undergrad, about to start their master's. Not only did the anxiety and irrational thoughts worsen despite being on medication, journaling, and working with a naturopath, but a lot of gut issues also started to present themselves, like nausea, IBS-D, SIBO, and insomnia.
Alex was just about to start working as a therapist and, as they put it, they had three options: increase the medication, change the medication, or figure out a different solution.
The different solution was working with me, learning how to support their body optimally through a customized dietary plan, customized supplements, supporting drainage pathways, addressing SIBO and parasites, and so much more that we discuss in this episode!
I’m so excited for you to hear this conversation, and I hope it inspires you to decide that it’s time to dive in, do the work, and take control of your mental health.

Joining us today is Jenna Justinich, a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, Professional Makeup Artist, Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Herbal Medicine Plant Witch, Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Community Manager, and Mama to a beautiful girl.
In this episode, recorded during a call in the private Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Client Facebook group, Jenna and I discuss the importance of mothers prioritizing their mental and physical health, as they are the barometer of the household.
When mothers enter a state of dysregulation and neglect self-care, it directly impacts their children's nervous systems, behaviors, and emotional connections. This neglect can lead to frequent meltdowns in children and influence the mother’s relationship with her partner, creating either a positive or negative cycle in family dynamics.
Tune in to learn how mothers can take steps towards prioritizing self-care, what that realistically looks like for mothers, working through 'mom guilt', what to eat to feel nourished and grounded, the challenges and rewards of instilling healthy habits in children, how to create morning routines as a mother, and so much more!

She found herself in a downward spiral: drinking alcohol daily, smoking cigarettes, overeating, gaining 85 lbs in one year, marrying an abusive man, making poor health choices, and accumulating so much debt that she couldn't afford food.
She despised her body and her life… until she discovered Intuitive Awareness. This powerful practice led to her getting a divorce, losing 85 pounds, paying off all her debt, achieving financial success, eliminating toxicity from her life, and most importantly, learning to love herself unconditionally.
In this episode, Elisa and I dive into why we often don't change even when we want to, the importance of being coachable, what discipline truly means, the art of focusing on what we pay attention to, how failure fosters resilience and emotional regulation, the belief systems we are indoctrinated with, the 5 steps to overcome self-sabotage, and so much more!
