  • It is human nature that we tend to overcomplicate things and overthink consequences before they even happen. These reflect in our actions. With the universe always speaking, we often fail to send the right signals and get answers different from what we hoped.

    A noisy road full of uncertainty, detours, and distractions - this is how the path that leads to the life we dream of looks. In this episode, we want to paint a picture of how we can make it easier to figure out and where we can start to unravel the threads that wove themselves into our already intricate thinking patterns.

    It doesn’t come easy. But it will pay off if we start knowing who we are, what we feel deep down, and what our bodies and souls are longings for. Start feeling and defer the thinking. When we understand what we feel in our body, we send the right message to our brains, and we begin to think and act with better reason.

  • Our brain indeed controls the functions in our body. But do you realize that our body sends signals to our brain? Our mind and body are linked intrinsically, but our mind interprets what initially happens to our body.

    When a stressful event happens - and by stressful, we mean traumatic - something happens to our body. It can get overwhelmed, freeze, and turn survival mode on. It's not only our brain that keeps track of the event. Instead, our body holds on to memories of trauma, too. And much of the way our brain responds is centered on what happened during a stressful experience in the past.

    Trauma carries negative thoughts and feelings of deep hurt, feelings of threat, and anger. If these thoughts and feelings aren't released, they become pent-up emotions that live in our cells and get reactivated when similarly stressful situations happen.

    What happens next is that a feedback loop that continually runs between the mind and body is created. Because of the wrong decisions we make based on a trauma response, we keep getting the wrong results and complain about being stuck in the hamster wheel. That is where Somatic Therapy can help release trapped emotions inside our body structure and its parts.

  • “Stress” is an overused and abused term. In fact, we use the term “stress” on a daily basis without regard for the real sense of the word. People use it to describe a range of things from simply annoying instances to extremely triggering situations.

    Search Google for advice on “How to manage stress and overwhelm?” You will get tons of advice that tell you how to clear or manage the ongoing effects of stress.

    In the context of mental health, however, there are two essential things. The first comes under the label of “self-awareness.” It is all about knowing the source of stress and overwhelm or the things that pull your triggers. The second is “resilience” or consciously putting the appropriate measures in place to avoid the point of derailment.

    In our latest episode, we had the chance to speak with an award-winning mental health educator, Sheila Robison-Kiss. What we love about this session is that Sheila was able to squeeze 20 years of experience into an array of value-packed resources in one episode.   • If our sensuality and sexuality are at the core of who we are, it effects what we attract and allow into our lives. - Lourdes Starshower.

    From this premise, we ask ourselves this question - “If we are not attracting the partner that we want in our lives, then how does our sexuality actually look like from the inside?”

    Many of us are not aware of our child wounds around our sexuality. These wounds could be in the form of abuse, repression of self-pleasure, apprehensions toward sexual attraction to the same sex, shutting out conversations about sexuality, or giving the impression of it being shameful. We all have heard these stories from our parents, in school, or even in the church. The repression can have massive effects on our physical, emotional, neurological, subconscious, and spiritual energy. Our orientation about sexuality early in life has something to do with how we perceive our sexuality and how we relate to ourselves when it comes to being intimate with another person.

    If we open mind and heart to accepting these ideas, tantric healing can open the door to healing these wounds. We can then come into alignment with our true selves, unlearn and re-learn how to give love and pleasure, and be intimate with ourselves the way we want to be loved. And when the right person comes into our life, we feel whole, centered, and ready to share that intimacy.

  • Do you find yourself complaining about stress too often that it has become a part of the conversations in your head?

    Pay attention to your breath.
    Practice breathing wherever you are. Look at your feet and know where you're standing.
    Start counting your breath.
    Start breathing and just noticing.
    When you go to sleep practice, practice breathing.
    Lay down and only do it for 15 seconds.
    So the next time you do it, do it for 20 seconds.
    And it's all about noticing, and if you continue to practice breathing, it just feels better.

  • There is more to diet culture than what it looks like on the surface.

    For many women, there is a real struggle in keeping up with the perfect body image that was either ingrained in us through generations or a pressure we put on ourselves for different reasons.

    The influence of mass media and social media marketing plants a strong subconscious desire that to be desirable and worthy, one must be within a specific weight range, body shape, or a prescribed look. We tend to measure ourselves through the measuring stick to create the perfect person.

    This week, we challenge you to Stop, Drop, and Roll

    Here’s a quick background:

    In our brains, there exists a subconscious desire to go a different way, think of what if’s, what could be possible, or what could be waiting for us on the other side. But we almost automatically choose to do what we’ve always done. We choose to go in the same direction.

    Why? Because it's our autonomic nervous system that tells us not to change course. It’s not safe. You’ve always gone this way. Even if that course never gets us to who we want to become, we go with it. As Nick Pags puts it -

    “We rather dance with the devil that we know than the devil that we don't.”

    Here’s how you’ll do it-

    This is where we STOP and ask ourselves the question, “ Is this a decision that's aligned with who I want to be? And the life I want to live?” We begin to take radical ownership and take responsibility for who we want to be.By not allowing tons of excuses to get in the way, we DROP our ego, the protection, the safety and comfort zone, the victim mindset, the resistance to change, and simply allow ourselves to the possibilities.Only by dropping those blocks, can we then ROLL with a new decision and a new experience.

    It may take you some time to make it because change is uncomfortable. But if you resolve to ABC -“act boldly consistently,” the more you make decisions that are aligned with the person you want to be, the more you take that simple action, the more your life is a byproduct of that experience, and the more you start to see that your world is now built on a foundation of not protection, but abundant aligned choices.

  • Many of us have “traveling with the family” on our bucket lists. We crave freedom from the 9-5 or the luxury of the four-day work week, but the systems and mindset that we operate on never get us anywhere near achieving them.     Our guest, Nick Cownie helps people break through to the next level by rewiring their brains, helping them build unshakable confidence, and destroying self-sabotage. In our recent episode, Nick shared with us an impactful yet ridiculously simple concept of CHOICE.

    Wanna try this quick mindset work? Here goes


    Write the word CHOICE on a piece of paper, in capital letters so that the letters bleed through to the other side of the paper.

    Write it so that you can see through the paper, and then flip that paper over.

    Notice that it still perfectly reads CHOICE because of the way letters are formed.

    And so you turn it over and over and over, and every single time it reads CHOICE.

    And so the concept is there's always another choice, right?

    Nick commits to his belief that FREEDOM IS A CHOICE- and it's not a one-off choice.

    And it really does come down to the moment by moment choices with the criteria that you ask yourself –

    “Is this moving me closer or further from my personal definition of freedom and what that means to me in my life?”

    Nick is a certified NLP trainer, published author, international speaker, and certified digital marketing specialist.

    Episode Challenge (32:41)

    If we don’t forgive, we hold on to the resentment. But as humans, try to understand that we tend to show up in the likeness of the person who caused us pain or hurt. We are not free from the risk of doing the same thing.

    How do we break the cycle of abuse?

    We pay attention to not being in the position of a predator. We don’t let our mirror neurons make us absorb the actions of our abuser and go through the same cycle of causing hurt to others.

    How do we forgive?

    We detach the person from the abusive action. When you finally do, find it in your heart to forgive the person (not the act). Think that he may be under the influence of evil or a subconscious block.

    We encourage you to get deep into this reflection and embody what we have in our conversation of coming from a space of forgiveness and discernment. When you do, may you find spiritual freedom.

    Forgiveness is a process. It’s not something that happens overnight. If you try to do it, let us know how it made you feel or what it did for you.

    We encourage you to rethink your relationship with money. And if you feel that money isn’t always enough, it hardly comes, and when it does, it always isn’t enough. Here’s something you can think about, say, and feel within you. Remember, it may not easy to change your relationship with money but you will do better with practice.

    Money is energy. It is a cycle of giving and receiving. I am open to receiving money in whatever way it comes. And also willing to give it generously to those who need it. If I just take all the money and put it in my savings account and never spend it, I am breaking up that cycle.

    I am confident in the value I deliver to my clients, and I know that my services are worthy of what I charge. I believe that money will come consistently because I appreciate its value and have a healthy relationship with money.

    I need money as much as I need water, food, and human connection. So if money were a person, I need to have a relationship with money. And like other relationships, it could be a loving one or a toxic one. That being said, I believe that money will flow through me. It loves me as much as I love it. I need it in my life.

    Money is all around me, maybe just in another form. It keeps the roof above my head, fills my tummy, and makes my family comfortable. So I am always with money.

    Often, the narrative is that we are being held up by limiting beliefs when it comes to achieving the life we envision. Early experiences in life build those beliefs and thoughts, those beliefs and thoughts affect our feelings; feelings become our actions, and actions form our habits.

    Our habits cement our thoughts. The cycle becomes a pattern. Then, we fall into the egocentric trap that holds us back from achieving our full potential.
