We are back once again with an early Christmas present for you in the form of another delicious Cast-A-Role
This time, we are traveling back to 1987 to review Arnold Schwarzenegger's futuristic action romp, The Running Man.
We start this week off talking all things Christmas dinner, and the divisive Brussels sprout
Nick gets reminded of something he watched in the lead-up to the recording by a rather interesting discussion
As expected, the review leads to some contrasting opinions.
During our recasting, Jim is left flabbergasted by Sam and Nick
And we round things out with a Christmas-inspired edition of Audio Aperitif
-
It's the first episode of our tricky second album, and we've set off with our best foot forward.
This week we are reviewing and recasting 1979's Apocalypse Now
We begin this week with Nick still trying to justify his casting of Maggie Smith for Ripley.
It may be our 2nd year, but it's still very much the same old Jim.
Nick and Sam struggle with Jim's apathetic opinions.
Despite his opinions, Jim does an OK job at recasting.
And we continue as we mean to go on, we a brand new round of Audio Aperitif.

IT'S OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, AND WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!!
We started the year discussing the first film of an iconic franchise, so it's only right that we end the year discussing the first film of another iconic franchise. And what a franchise it is! We head back to 1979 to discuss Ridley Scott's Alien.
Of course, Ridley Scott is still very much going strong with the recent release of Gladiator 2, and the Alien franchise is arguably stronger than ever, with the recent release of Alien: Romulus and the upcoming television series Alien: Earth. So, what do Sam, Nick, and, most importantly, Jim think of the original?
This week, we start with several big announcements.
Rather than discuss what we've been watching this week; we instead, discuss some of our favourite moments of the past year of Cast-A-Role.
We declare our film of the year (kind of)
Jim has an epiphany and does the unthinkable
The is what is quite possibly the mouse BIZARRE casting choice to date.
And we round out the episode with yet another Audio Aperitif. Can Jim level the score, or will Nick romp home to victory?
-
We have entered our birthday month, and to kick things off we have a rather not-so-exciting film to discuss in the form of Martin Scorsese's Casino.
It may be fireworks day in the UK, but don't expect many of them in this week's episode, as for once Sam agrees with Jim!!!
We start this week off discussing Lego land, and Jim's non-enjoyment of rides.
The guys give a little insight into the Mega Wheel.
Jim gushes over The Wild Robot.
Sadly, there is no Audio Aperitif this week (damn you Sam!!) but the guys do go off on a tangent off the back of Sam's recasting to pitch quite possibly the greatest film ever!
And to mark our one-year anniversary, The Mega Wheel picks another HUGE franchise for us to tackle.
-
Spooky season is in full swing and the guys have got a lovely trick (or treat) up their sleeves for you.
For their second Halloween special, we are reviewing not one, but two films for you.
First up we have the absolute classic that is Uwe Boll's Alone In The Dark, followed by Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands.
We begin this week as always, by discussing what we've been watching, including things such as The Killers Game, Vince McMahon, and Sam and Jim gush over Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
This episode delivers some VERY hot takes from Jim (shock), some of which Nick struggled to comprehend.
Sam and Nick tell a story of their struggles with Indian dubbing.
And even with two film reviews, we still manage to find time for another edition of Audio Aperitif, can Jim claw one back? Will Nick continue his winning ways? or will Sam continue his hijinx?
-
We are back again for another edition of Cast-A-Role, and this week we enter "Spooky Season" much to the displeasure of Jim.
To kick off this Halloween season, the boys are reviewing and recasting John Carpenter's The Thing from 1982.
The guys start this week off discussing what food should and shouldn't go on a stick, as well as whether pineapple should go on a pizza.
Jim reveals his hatred for Halloween.
Nick somehow confuses George of the Jungle with The Jungle Book!
Sam issues Jim a massive apology that sends shivers down Nick's spine as he starts to come to terms with the possibility of watching the Rebel Moon director's cuts.
Will this classic film be safe from Jim? (probably not)
For recastings this week, the guys couldn't decide on how many to recast, so have settled on just MacReady, but then served up some pitches for survival horror films, at which point Jim may have lost the plot.
And to end the episode, Audio Aperitif is back. Can Jim level the score with Nick? Or will there be yet more hijinks?
-
HELLO! And welcome back for another edition of Cast-A-Role!
The audio troubles are behind us and we are ready and waiting to serve you more delicious recasting.
This week we are heading all the way back in our way back machine, to the year 1976 where we shall be reviewing and recasting Logan's Run.
In this week's episode, Sam and Nick claim Jim to be the leader of a cult!
It's been a hot minute, so we have another rant from Jim.
We discuss THAT robot.
In this week's recasting all 3 of the guys are not only on a different page but completely different books, so have put the recastings to a public vote.
And Sam reveals that there is NO AUDIO APERITIF! BOOOOOOOO!
-
DISCLAIMER!! Unfortunately, the audio issues that plagued us last time are still present this week. We can only apologise and thank you for being patient with us as we rectify it for the next episode.
We are back again with another edition of Cats-A-Role, and this time we are traveling back to 1991 to take on the action-packed thrill ride, Point Break.
But before that, Nick introduces us to his chocolate choices, and Sam throws a bit of controversy in to the conversation.
Nick absolutely owns Jim and Sam
It's been a while since we've had a rant from Jim, so he's back with a bang!
The guys almost reach breaking point.
And can Jim level up the scores when Sam presents the latest edition of "Audio Aperitif"
-
DISCLAIMER - Sam has got himself a shiny new microphone and we didn't quite get the levels correct so he may come across a bit loud in places over the next couple of episodes. We can only apologize and will have this sorted when we next record.
WE ARE BACK!! Time for another episode of classic Cast-A-Role shenanigans.
This week we are reviewing and recasting the last film Micheal Bay did before he stopped caring and sunk his teeth into franchising, 2005's Action Sci-Fi romp The Island.
We start this week off by discussing our favourite Tex-Mex meals, which somehow leads to a traffic report of sorts.
Jim has watched the Rebel Moon Director's Cuts and gives his thoughts and retrospectively re-evaluating the originals with a cameo from Sam's Guinea pigs.
We dive into why Jim watched this 3 times in the cinema.
Nick DOESN'T pick Emily Blunt.
Sam may give Micheal Bay a bit too much credit
We have a listener email that absolutely pulls Jims pants down.
And we end the episode introducing you to THE MEGA WHEEL followed by Sam treating us to another edition of Audio Aperitif.
-
We're back with our regularly scheduled dose of Cast-A-Role, and this time it's the turn of Sam to give us a little insight into his mind and the types of films he considers worthy of a Top 5 placement.
We go back to the year 1987 (a great year) and discuss the fantasy comedy, The Princess Bride.
But before we get into all of that, as is customary we begin by going on a tangent into what kind of employee Jim would be like.
Sam as expected going into this episode, is full of praise......
.....Jim and Nick, not so much.
The guys also can't help but give themselves a round of applause with what is possibly their best recasting yet.

Fresh off the back of getting together at the cinema and watching the latest offering in the Deadpool franchise, Deadpool and Wolverine, the guys sit down to review the latest offering from Ryan Reynalds and Hugh Jackman.
Jim starts this week by gushing over the latest offering from Amazon Prime, Those About To Die.
Was this the perfect superhero film for someone who isn't usually fussed with the genre?
And Sam and Nick end this week's episode discussing what kind of superhero (or villain) Jim would be.

It's time for another brand new episode of Cast-A-Role, and the guys are back with another of their video game pitches
This week the guys are talking about their film ideas for gaming behemoth, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
We begin this week chatting about (bizarrely enough) gas and gout!
We then forget we're a movie podcast and transition to gaming.
There is some issues surrounding Hawk and Hawk's
And the lads then pitch some rather credible film ideas.

Nick and Sam are stunned by some of Jim's revelations.
And the guys do something different this week and pitch their national holiday movies. However, the brief may have gotten a little confused.

Our busy month of June continues with the guys jumping back to 1999 to review and recast fan favourite movie The Mummy to mark its 25-year anniversary in the UK ahead of its re-release in cinemas at the beginning of July.
In this episode, the guys discuss the troubling times this movie had in getting off the ground to begin with.
We also learn a bit more about Jims thought process when it comes to recastings.
Jim reveals the recasting that he has kept hold of for over a year since he and Nick first piloted the podcast
And we leave you with a rather fitting life lesson.

The guys are back once again to review another of cinema's brand new offerings, this time in the form of Netflix's 2024 Sci-Fi epic starring Jennifer Lopez, Atlas.

Jim REALLY hates J-LO
And Sam comes up with a brilliant pitch in our as-of-yet-unnamed final segment

The guys are back again and are once more traveling back in time to the 70s to take a look at Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed Jaws.
Hold on to your life jackets though as Jim hits the guys with a revelation of titanic proportions that we're fairly certain Sam is still struggling to come to terms with.
With this week's casting being so small, the guys fought hard for their picks, one of them felt so familiar Sam couldn't put his finger on why.
Then in this week's "Reel Talk" the guys jump back to discussing cinemas, and what could bring the masses back.
If you like what you hear why not chuck the guys a donation to be part of this journey via the following link.

SURPRISE!
The guys have decided to grace you all with a bonus episode this week.
So put up your feet and listen as the guys review (and argue) over the latest part of Zack Snyders, Netflix Sci-fi epic, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver
Expect lots of swearing, Nick and Sam pulling their hair out, and Jim doing his best to convince them that this is actually a good film.
Don't forget if you like what you hear, you can donate to the guy's cause via the following link.

In this latest episode the guys take on a film that many would consider hallowed ground, and should never be messed with, but guess what> They did it anyway.
This week, they've recast The Shawshank Redemption
In this episode, Nick feels a little left out in the castings.
Jim continues his hot streak of castings
Sam manages to crowbar in some Micheal Caine
And for this week's "Reel Talk" Jim has a question for Nick and Sam to ponder.
