    《A Dream Within a Dream》原文

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
    That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
    I stand amid the roar
    Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
    While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
    Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
    One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

    把这个吻放在额头上!
    而且,在现在离开你时,
    这么多,让我来信——
    你没有错,谁认为
    我的日子一直是一个梦想;
    然而,如果希望已经消失了
    在一个晚上,或者在白天,
    在愿景中,或者没有,
    因此,它消失得更少了吗?
    我们看到或看起来的一切
    只是梦中的梦。
    我站在咆哮声中
    冲浪折磨的海岸,
    我握在手里
    金色的沙粒——
    多么少啊! 然而,他们是如何爬行的
    通过我的手指深入深渊,
    当我哭泣的时候——当我哭泣的时候!
    上帝啊! 我能不抓住吗
    他们用更紧的扣子吗?
    上帝啊! 我可以不存钱吗?
    一个来自无情的浪潮?
    是我们看到或看起来的一切吗
    但梦中的梦?

Do not go gentle into that good night……”
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night。

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
    By Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning
    they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

  • You may see me struggle
but you won't see me fall.
Regardless if I'm weak or not
    I'm going to stand tall.
    Everyone says life is easy
    but truly living is not.
    Times get hard,
    people struggle
and constantly get put on the spot.

I'm going to wear the biggest smile
even though I want to cry.
I'm going to fight to live
even though I'm destined to die.
    And even though it's hard
and I may struggle through it all.
    You may see me struggle
but you will never see me fall.

The old dream comes again to me:
    With May-night stars above,
We two sat under the linden tree
    And swore eternal love.

Again and again we plighted troth,
    We chattered, and laughed, and kissed;
To make me well remember my oath
You gave me a bite on the wrist.

O darling with these eyes serene,
And with the teeth so white!
The vows were proper to the scene,
    Superfluous was the bite.

  • The fish in the water is silent,

But Man has in him the silence of the sea,
the noise of the earth and the music of the air.

    For you I would climb
    The highest mountain peak;
    Swim the deepest ocean.
    Your love I do seek.

    For you I would cross
    The rivers most wide;
    Walk the hottest desert sand
To have you by my side.

    For you are the one
    Who makes me whole;
    You've captured my heart
    And touched my soul.

    For you are the one
    That stepped out of my dreams;
    Gave me new hope;
    Showed me what love means.

    For you alone
    Are my reason to live,
    For the compassion you show
And the care that you give.

    You came into my life
    And made me complete.
    Each time I see you
    My heart skips a beat.

    For you define beauty
    In both body and mind.
    Your soft, gentle face
    More beauty I'll never find.

    For you are the one
    God sent from above,
    The angel I needed
    For whom I do love.

  • I'll give you some advice about life:
    Eat more roughage.
Do more than others expect you to do and take pains to do it.
Remember what life tells you. Don't take to heart every thing you hear.
Don't spend all that you have. Don't sleep as long as you want.
Whenever you say "I love you", please say it honestly. Whenever you say "I'm sorry", please look into the other person's eyes.
Never judge people by their appearance.

When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and say, "Why do you want to know?"
Call your mother on the phone. If you can't, you may think of her in your heart.
If you fail, don't forget to learn your lesson.
Remember the three 'respects'. Respect yourself, respect others, stand on dignity and pay attention to your behavior.
Don't let a little dispute break up a great friendship.
Whenever you find your wrongdoing, be quick with reparation!
Find time for yourself. Remember that silence is golden.
Read more books and watch less television.
Figure out the meaning of someone's words.
Do the thing you should do. Remember, not all the best harvest is luck.

    Nothing gold can stay
    Nature's first green is gold,
    大自然的第一抹新绿是金,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    也是她最无力保留的颜色。
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    她初发的叶子如同一朵花;
    But only so an hour.
    然而只能持续若此一刹那。
    Then leaf subsides to leaf,
    随之如花新叶沦落为旧叶。
    So Eden sank to grief.
    由是伊甸园陷入忧伤悲切,
So dawn goes down to day,
    Nothing gold can stay.

  • The Home

I paced alone on the road across the field while the sunset was hiding its last gold like a miser.

The daylight sank deeper and deeper into the darkness, and the widowed land, whose harvest had been reaped, lay silent.

Suddenly a boy's shrill voice rose into the sky. He traversed the dark unseen, leaving the track of his song across the hush of the evening.

His village home lay there at the end of the waste land, beyond the sugar-cane field, hidden among the shadows of the banana and the slender areca palm, the cocoa-nut, and the dark green jack-fruit trees.

I stopped for a moment in my lonely way under the starlight and saw spread before me the darkened earth surrounding with her arms countless homes furnished with cradles and beds, mothers' hearts and evening lamps, and young lives glad with a gladness that knows nothing of its value for the world.

Do something for yourself

As a little boy, there was nothing I liked better than Sunday aftemoons at my grandfather's farm in western Pennsylvania.

Surrounded by miles of winding stonewalls, the house and barn provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me.

I was used to parlors neat as a pin that seemed to whisper, 'Not to be touched!'

I can still remember one afternoon when I was eight years old. Since my first visit to the farm, I'd wanted more than anything to be allowedto climb the stonewalls surrounding the property.

My parents would never approve. The walls were old, some stones were missing, others loose and crumbling.

Still, my yearning to scramble across those walls grew so strong.

One spring afternoon, I summoned all my courage and entered the living room, where the adults had gathered after dinner.

'I, uh, I want to climb the stonewalls,' I said hesitantly.

Everyone looked up. 'Can I climb the stonewalls?'

Instantly a chorus went up from the women in the room.'Heavens, no!' they cried in dismay.'You'll hurt yourself!'

I wasn't too disappointedthe response was just as I'd expected.

But before I could leave the room, I was stopped by my grandfather' s booming voice.

'Hold on just a minute,' I heard him say, 'Let the boy climb the stonewalls. He has to learn to do things for himself.'

'Scoot,' he said to me with a wink, 'and come and see me when you get back.'

For the next two and a half hours I climbed those old walls and had the time of my life.

Later I met with my grandfather to tell him about my adventure. I'll never forget what he said.

    'Fred,' he said, grinning, “弗雷德,”他咧着嘴笑道。

'you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there's only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.'

Many years have passed since then, and today I host the television program Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, seen by millions of children throughout America.

There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same:

my message to children at the end of almost every visit, 'There's only one person in this whole world like you, and people can like you exactly as you are.'

Thy vows are all broken, And light is thy fame:
I hear thy name spoken, And share in its shame.
    人家提起你的名字,我听了也感到羞辱。
    They name thee before me, A knell to mine ear;
    他们当着我讲到你,一声声有如丧钟;
A shudder comes o'er me— Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee, Who knew thee too well:
Long, long shall I rue thee Too deeply to tell.
In secret, we met— In silence, I grieve That thy heart could forget, Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee After long years, How should I greet thee? — With silence and tears.

  • I had the strangest dream last night.
I was walking down a dirt road with snowy woods on either side of me.
I was all alone. The road seemed to go on forever.
    I couldn't see another person anywhere.
All at once, however,I saw someone walking towards me in the distance.
As this person got closer and closer I realized that it was me.
It was me from many years ago, fresh faced and young.
I could see in his mind all the dreams and hopes that he had too.
They had, after all, once been my own.
I was overjoyed. I had so many things I wanted to say to this younger me.
I wanted to spare himthe trials I had gone through, the pain I had suffered, and the mistakes I had made.
I wanted to share with him all that I had learned over the long years of my life.
I wanted to show him how his life would turn out so much differently than what he had thought and hoped it would, but that it would be so much better and happier than the path he was now on.
I wanted him not to waste so many years on the things his ego thought were so vital but instead to realize that love was the most important thing in this life.
I opened my mouth to say all of these things but couldn't.
I realized at that moment that even if I told him he wouldn't believe me.
He would have to walk the road I had walked, learn the things I had learned, and go through all I had gone through.
I let him walk on byand watched as he disappeared in the distance.
Then I turned to continue on my own way and woke up.
In this life there are no shortcuts.
We all have to walkthe road.
We all have to travel through sorrow as well as joy.
We all have to learn to love.
We all have to grow into who we were meant to be.
    It takes our whole lives.
Yet, it is a journey worth making.
