  • When a second disappearance occurred on October 4th, 1988, in the exact location of an abduction less than a year earlier, on November 21st, 1987, law enforcement knew something unusual had happened. Were the disappearances explainable? Or had the two met with foul play, whether at the hands of strangers or at the hands of someone they knew very well? In this week’s case, Allison explores the disappearances of Korrina Malinoski and Annette Sagers.

  • Labor Day of 1974 should have been an exciting one for the Reker family. They had just celebrated a family reunion the day before and the holiday was spent with family at home as well as in the preparation of going back to school the next day. It was for the purpose of buying additional items for school that 15-year-old Mary Reker (with younger sister, 12-year-old Susie tagging along) went shopping. It was a trip from which the sisters would never return.

  • Edward Nickels, Roy Wilson, and Dewey Morris made a plan in the winter of 1923 to trap fur on Little Lava Lake. They were to stay in Ed Logan’s cabin in exchange for looking after his prized foxes. Their trapping season was going well and they had already profited a sizeable amount. So, what happened that led to their bodies being found frozen in Little Lava Lake and the cabin in a state that showed a hasty retreat?

  • Before the Hollywood dolls that haunt our dreams, there was one (not so) quietly closed in an attic in a Key West home causing quite a stir for anyone with whom he came into contact. As his notoriety has grown and with his placement in a permanent museum display, the reach of that contact has grown tremendously, as has the number of letters he receives from people pleading with him to release them from whatever curse he has placed upon them. This episode is the history of Robert the doll.

  • Dori Ann Myers was a skilled poker player. She knew how to make calculated decisions when the pressure was on. But she also had a soft spot for people, especially for those who made sacrifices for the good of others. Unfortunately, one of those people took advantage of Dori letting her guard down and of her not treating people with the same critical eye as she did cards. Someone came into her home in January 10th, 2006 and, when they left during the early morning hours of January 11th, they took Dori with them. Now it’s law enforcement who are having to make calculated decisions in their attempts to solve her case.
