Once there was a bird that lived on a tree. On one cold winter night, a group of monkeys came to that the tree for shelter and noticed a pile of leaves next to it. They decided to light a fire to keep them warm but they had no fire with them. Then one of the monkeys saw a glow-worm, firefly, and thought if they would catch it and put it on leaves then the leaves would lit up.
The bird sitting on the tree advised them that it won’t work and kept on suggesting them to try to rub the sticks to light a fire. On the bird’s repeated interruptions, one of the monkeys finally got very upset, caught the bird, and threw it on a tree. This story teaches us an important moral lesson not to give our advice unless we are asked for it. We cannot teach fools who are not willing to listen.

Author - Vishnu Sharma In the city of Vardhaman, there lived a king who came to know about a wise and intelligent merchant named Dantila in his kingdom. King offered Dantila the responsibility of the kingdom and was highly trusted by the king. On the occasion of his daughter’s wedding, Dantila arranged a lavish ceremony where he invited all the king, ministers, noblemen, influential people and also the common men of the kingdom. He noticed a personal servant of the king sitting on a seat of noblemen. Furious Dantila ordered the guards to throw the servant out of the ceremony and that was when the servant decided to have his revenge and raised a plot against the merchant to spoil his image in front of the king. One day when the King was half asleep, servant went into his bedroom on the pretext of cleaning it and managed to plant a seed of suspicion in king’s mind against the merchant. King not sure what to do, started to withdraw merchant’s privileges. When merchant realized that this was the servant’s doing, rather than getting angry, he sought servant’s forgiveness for insulting him at the wedding. In return the servant obliged and corrected what he has changed to help the merchant regain king’s trust and his lost glory. This story teaches us two important lessons. First that we should treat everyone with respect and equality irrespective of their social status and secondly that we should not believe everything which is told to us by anyone and use our own judgment before making any decisions.
