Recorded at a very chic location in midtown Manhattan, and everyone is LOVING it. The boys welcome Bianca Sanon, superstar sommelier and new distro goddess to discuss rocks. That's it, that's the bit folks. With just a tiny scaffolding like that, podcast greatness can emerge. It's really, honestly, heartening and beautiful, especially because this episode is fun. ////LIST////

I cried 3 times interviewing Claudine and Michelle from Heya Wines, who are making truly gorgeous wines in the North of Lebanon and supporting communities of women and children displaced by the Syrian Civil war. You should seek out their wines, imported by the wonderful Terra Sancta Wine Imports.
At this moment, US weaponry is being used by Israel in a campaign of terrorism across Lebanon as well as in the Gaza Strip in Palestine, where the conditions verge on genocidal. Death is incredibly close throughout the country, adding another layer of precarity to the already fraught harvest season. Your tax dollars are doing this and not going to fix any of the problems that you and I would like to see fixed. This will not end without the United States developing a conscience, and you should feel absolutely comfortable using your vote and your voice as a tool to force this.
Please if you are in the United States, take a moment to remind your elected officials that this is unacceptable -- the executive branch could stop this with one phone call.
If you are able to, please donate to the following organizations --

@nationstation__@thebakeatelierlb
@alebeirut food distribution to the displaced.

Please buy Jennifer's book, imperial wine, which is the wildly interesting take on the invention of the new world in wine. When all of you jerks write your wine books, I will yell at you for not citing it. Jennifer, also, is incredibly funny and cool and this was one of the most fun interviews I've done yet, so, like, please buy the book and demand it from all your favorite stores.

Solo boys episode to finish our Rhône season strong. It sucks to say it, but damn it's fun doing France again. Uh, this is probably one of those "important" episodes we'll reference a lot in the future because we accidentally spell out our entire wine philosophy. So, like, this is the best you're going to get about what we actually believe until we get that sweet book deal. Thanks for all the new patreon subs, please tell your friends about us and how much you love us and write to [email protected] with any wine (or "wine" ) questions you've got for upcoming mail bag episodes. ////LIST////

The boys are re-joined by Todd Cavallo from Wild Arc to do two things: hype up New York Natural Wine and figure out what Slow South of the Rhône Valley does exactly. There's some light Robert Parker Chatter, and then all of a sudden everyone goes full berserk dead-eyed nattie. We love to see it folks, sometimes it really just is that easy. Guys, drink Natural New York wine, hopefully Todd's but if you don't like those he'll help you find something else. Also, uh, let something beautiful happen to you every day <3 ////LIST////

It really feels like we are describing a real mood on this ep with our spiritual dad, Ryan Looper. We accidentally just yapped and gossiped about the decaying corpse of the fine wine industry. I guess this is cathartic? The wines are notable for being incredibly good but I think something made us use icky descriptors for nearly all of them. This is the kind of episode I'd like to put in a time capsule. ////LIST////

James Sligh, AKA the Children's Atlas of Wine joins us for our first modern Rhône Episode to kick off and complicate our first French Season in, like, a million years by making us drink two Swiss wines. Sure, we all know about the Rhône Valley, but this damn river is the key to delicious wine all the way to the Mediterranean. This week, we focus on Lake Geneva wines and visit our old crushes, Bugey and Isere, and discuss how the moderating waters makes the best alpine wines possible. Welcome to the most expensive season of Disgorgeous yet, don't forget to sub to Patreon.com/disgorgeous and also, of course Patreon.com/Childrensatlasofwine ////LIST////

No guests, no hope, no filter: The boys finish the Portuguese season the way we always knew they would -- talking about Dragons, Democracy and the Damn Catalans. Kevin teases the next big season towards the end, but please get ready for SUMMER PROGRAMMING up next, which means delightfully weird episodes with a lot of your friends and enemies about topics we can't (yet) build a season around. Eddie Chami, perhaps the most visionary winemaker in the middle east right now graciously sat down for a phone interview with me instead of seeing his kid graduate. The power I fucking wield i swear to god. Everything from Altitude - Zionism gets covered here -- big topics all around but, Eddie is basically the best dude on Earth, even as his project starts to veer into collateral damage territory. Buy some of his wines, ok?

I can die happy. Rafa and Kevin said this episode made sense and that the whole *concept* is good. Damn I needed that. Please tell a friend, just something as simple as "I listen to a really parasocial wine podcast and I think you'd like it." Stuff like this is , to me, greater than all the wine in the world. If you tell a friend let us know and we'll send you psychic kiss. Go to Red Hook Tavern to see Rafa and drink from his v good wine list. ////LIST////
