25 años después de su separación y casi 20 años tras la muerte de Kike Turmix la banda Pleasure Fuckers ha anunciado su reunión para unas actuaciones de homenaje al finado y en recuerdo de aquel legado. Actuarán en el mes de junio en el marco del festival Azkena de Vitoria y darán dos únicas fechas en Madrid. Paralelamente el sello Play Loud edita el álbum “Malasaña republic” con material inédito en directo de los primeros años de la banda.

La etiqueta freakbeat se acuñó para englobar diversos singles de los años 60 que era complicado clasificar, canciones poderosas que se movían entre la psicodelia, el primer rock progresivo o el beat. Si esas influencias las pasamos por el filtro del sonido de Los Ángeles en aquellos días nos aproximaríamos a definir la receta musical que The Loons manufacturan desde hace tres décadas. Tymon Dogg and the Dacoits, banda nacida en Granada de la unión de cinco personajes singulares. Por un lado, los Dacoits, tres Lagartija Nick (Antonio Arias, JJ Machuca y Juan Codorniú) y el veterano batería y percusionista británico Richard Dudanski. Al frente el cantante y violinista Tymon Dogg, histórico morador del underground e inefable trovador del folk alternativo y experimental. Presentan su debut, “The Granada Sessions”, con una actuación en formato reducido y acústico.

Del neoyorquino barrio del Bronx surgieron The Ghetto Brothers, formación de origen pandillero liderada por los hermanos Melendez. Conscientes de los problemas de violencia entre bandas, drogas y decadencia que vivía su gente, ellos apostaron por un mensaje de unidad, rechazando la violencia e involucrándose en la colaboración entre vecinos. Se reedita su único álbum de 1972, “Power, fuerza” (Vampisoul), sorprendente colección de canciones que combina ritmos latinos, sabores souleros y hermosas melodías.
