  • Last week we began our journey into the husband's role in marriage as we looked at Christ's example of an active love and a sacrificial love. We also looked at what our realistic expectations should be in this and how when we do our part as wives, we are helping to support our husbands in their role as well.

As we continue our conversation, we will discuss 3 more examples of how Christ loves the church with His protecting love, purifying love, and caring love. We will go over what these look like in practical terms and when it may be time to have a conversation to make some changes.

Join me as we unpack these vital aspects of a God-designed love and follow His amazing plan for our marriages

    Let’s get started.

  • Many of us come into marriage with notions of what it will be like. Some of our ideas come from what we saw with our parents or other relatives, what we have seen portrayed in sitcoms, movies or what we have read in books.

We also may know what scripture says about the roles of husbands and wives and have our own version as to what this looks like in our minds.

However, are we accurate and realistic of our husband's role? Are we expecting too little or too much from them?

Today, we will begin our journey into a realistic view of how a husband is to love his wife, as Christ loves the church. As well as how you can encourage him in his role to improve your relationship.

    Let’s get started.

  • As we talked about last week, we all have stress or anxiety from time to time, and have felt the negative emotions of being annoyed, frustrated, or even angry in our marriages.

Christen shared with us how the simple use of essential oils with the power of scripture, helped her with the stresses of law school and brought her back into a right relationship with the Lord.

Today, we continue our conversation as Christen shares her testimony of how using a sensory routine enabled her to work through some of the negative emotions she was feeling in her marriage and to ward off the attacks of the enemy by taking her thoughts captive.

It’s a relatable powerful testimony that you’re not going to want to miss.

  • It happens all the time, a problem arises, things get busy, and attending church becomes less and less of a priority or falls by the wayside altogether. We have well-meaning intentions that we are only going to skip church for a short time for this one thing.

But then, as our weekends get filled up with activities, it becomes harder and harder to get back into the habit of getting everybody up, ready, and out the door on a Sunday morning.

If this goes on long enough, we may even begin to lose sight of why we were going in the first place and what difference does it really make in our lives?

But ladies, it does make a difference and can be a vital part of bringing about the changes that you want to see in yourself and your marriage. Today I want to encourage you by sharing with you 5 ways that being in church can improve your marriage and your family life.

    Let’s get started.

    In this episode:

Biblical truth addressing common debates about the necessity of church attendance.Learn five transformative ways attending church can improve your marriage and family life. The importance of being part of a church family, not just for spiritual growth but also for the practical support it provides in challenging times. How church participation helps families grow and stay grounded in God's word rather than worldly influences.Bonus point about the blessings that come from being part of a church body. • I hear from women all the time, I wish my husband would do this or stop doing that. Maybe it’s to consider your feelings more, stop being busy with other things and spend more time with the family, or be the godly leader of the household.

We feel that the only way to get our husbands to change or do things differently, is to in some way convince them to do so. Because we see a desperate need for change, we meet the problem head on and do all that we can to try to convince our husband’s to see things our way and to make the necessary changes to improve our relationship. Sound familiar?

But what if? What if we stopped all that and did something different. A different approach that I think would give you a greater opportunity for success. Would you be willing to try it?

    If so . . . Let’s get started.

  • In this episode we are continuing our chat about parents and in-laws. What their place is suppose to be in our life now that we are married, how we are to treat them, and what to do when they behave rudely or make our lives difficult.

The world has its own views on this, but what does the Bible say about how we are to treat our parents? As we started to see last week, there is more in scripture about parents then we may have realized and that how we treat them, can have a direct affect on our own lives as well.

Today, I’ll be sharing with you some of my own experience as a mother-in-law, the responsibility that scripture says we have to our parents and how to avoid conflicts or resolve them when they happen.

    Let’s get started.

  • Last week we asked the question; does God really speak to us today? And if He does, how do we know it’s Him?

We began to look at some of the differing characteristics between God, us, and the enemy that can help us in determining where our thoughts are coming from. If we are truly hearing from God, being led astray by the enemy or seeking to fill our own sinful desires.

We're continuing in this topic today. So if you are searching for what the next right step is? If you have thoughts and question if it’s God who is leading you? Then join me today as we discover how to know the still small voice of God.

    Let’s get started!

    Episode Highlights:

Recap of last week's episode on discerning God’s voice.Characteristics to distinguish between God's voice and the enemy’s.Practical steps to handle negative and confusing thoughts.Introduction of the "Taking My Thoughts Captive" journal.

This episode explores additional characteristics to help discern God's voice:

Christ Confirms, Satan Contradicts: Thoughts from God will never contradict Scripture.Christ Chooses, Satan Captures: God adopts us in love, while Satan seeks to ensnare us.Christ Constrains, Satan Constricts: God calls us to self-control and righteousness, while Satan tries to make us feel trapped and hopeless.Christ Clearly Speaks Truth, Satan Convinces with Many Words: God’s messages are clear and concise, unlike the enemy’s repetitive and confusing tactics.

  • Does God really speak to us today? And if He does, how do we know it’s Him? How do we know that it’s not just our own wishful thinking or weird notions that we have. Can Satan or his minions put thoughts in our minds. And if so, how do we recognize those thoughts and know what the truth really is?

There are differing characteristics between God, us, and the enemy that can help us in determining where our thoughts are coming from. If we are truly hearing from God, being led astray by the enemy or seeking to fill our own sinful desires.

  • As woman, we have the ability and the calling by God to set the tone of our homes. Proverbs 14:1 tells us;

“Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”

We all want to be wise and to build our house, but what does this look like exactly. What foolish things is God talking about here that would cause us to pull our houses down? Could some of us be doing this, tearing our houses down little by little without even realizing it?

Join me as we take a look at scripture to learn how to be the wise woman who builds her home.

    Let’s get started.

  • We all know the we should give to the church. But how much do we give? What does God expect from us in this? What does following God's commands for this look like as a married couple?

There can be varying views on this in our society, however when we look at scripture, God makes it quite clear as to what His direction and purpose is for our giving.

So join me today for a look at the biblical principles of tithes and offerings, how to do this as a married couple, as well as what scripture teaches us about God's economy.

  • In this episode, we will continue our look at what it means to genuinely respect our husbands. What it looks like in our every day lives. As I’ve said before, we are not only called by God to do this, but our husbands need us to show them respect in the same way that we need them to show us love. It’s a part of how God designed the marriage relationship. If we don’t take the time to learn this, to truly apply God‘s word to our marriages, then we will continue to have problems. But, if we can get this right, if we can learn to respect our husbands and trust Christ in this, it will a game changer in our relationship. Are you ready for this? Let’s get started! • He says I don't respect him, but I still don't know what this means. Ladies, if we don't fully understand what it is to respect our husbands, we will continue to have problems. But, if we get this right, it will make all the difference in the world in our marriages. Our husbands need this from us as much as we need them to show they love us. Join me today as we chat about what it looks like to show respect and how sometimes we are disrespectful without even realizing it. Are your ready for this? Let's get started!Scripture References
