In this episode, we speak about how to help children stay strong when they are afraid. In many situations, children look upon us as their ‘heroes’, when they are afraid. Quite often, fear comes from not having traveled the path before, or the ‘unknown’. Sometimes it comes from having failed before, and having the courage to persevere and go at it again. We speak about different strategies and examples of how we can teach children to have courage and to listen to their hearts. How can children face their fears and learn to try new things, and as importantly, ask for help when they need it.

Eran Katz (Website | Podcast)Commitment:
Commitment is caring deeply about a person, a goal, or a belief. Once we discern a direction, we go for it wholeheartedly. We don't hold back, second guess our decision or hesitate to act on it fully. We set our goals and we achieve them. We make promises and we keep them. We go the extra mile. We are faithful to our relationships and don't allow problems to make us waiver. Keeping our commitments strengthens our inner integrity. It deepens our capacity to carry responsibility with grace. -

In this episode, we continue our reflection on Tact as we speak with Mojgan Tosif about how we communicate with our children. As parents, we need to remember what our role is - as a guide and counselor, not an authoritarian or a dictator. By recognising that our children are full of virtues in potential, we learn to nurture these by 'naming' the virtues rather than shaming the child.

This week we reflect on the virtue of Tact. All of us may have the best of intentions, however, some of the words we use, and the timing of the conversation is the main difference between encouragement and discouragement. We either open the door or close it, sometimes forever. Let us reflect on what Tact means and how this impacts our lives, and our conversations with our children.
