It’s no secret that we’ve had our own ups and downs in our lives and in our relationships. It’s as we navigate through these that we’re finding ourselves along the way. It isn’t always easy, especially when you make it a spectator sport. We’re inviting the Internet into our lives on a weekly basis, and we’re letting it all hang out. Some days, that’s really hard, and other days, it’s incredibly rewarding. But on all days, we learn. We learn what is most important to us, and we learn what we will no longer accept for ourselves, for each other, and for our beloved communities. Call us delusional, but we think we each deserve the world, so we’re gonna go get it for each other. 💖

This was such a powerful start to what we hoped would be, at the very least, a balanced conversation surrounding our beloved fat community and the current prescription weight-loss craze. Unfortunately, we were left disappointed, angry, and, honestly, sad. This is an extremely complicated topic, and we’ve got extremely complicated feelings. One of us is medically prescribed the “Shot-That-Must-Not-Be-Named,” and one of us has had weight loss surgery, and all of us have tried more than one way to shrink ourselves in a world obsessed with “fitting in.” Does that make us experts? No. Does that make us four human beings with very real and very valid feelings? It sure does. Let’s get into it! As lifelong fat gals, we’ve seen and heard it all. Trust us, no one is better prepared with self-deprecating humor than a girl who has, quite literally, been the butt of hundreds of cruel jokes from an unfairly young age.
