Helen heard a song on a Christian radio station that got her worried about abusing God’s grace.
What does it mean to abuse His grace? And what’s the solution? Less grace? Balance grace with something else? Or even more grace?
In this short episode, I address Helen’s fear and talk about the important difference between mercy and grace.

Cedric is the son of a Pentecostal minister. He grew up praying the Lord’s Prayer in church. But he noticed the prayer says “Forgive us our sins for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.” Jesus even goes on to say, “If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
This worried Cedric. He wondered whether or not he was fully forgiven or if he needed to recite the prayer every night before bed to get more forgiven. Even more, he wondered if he could lose his salvation.
In this video clip, I break down the true meaning of the prayer, and Cedric discovers the hope and assurance that Jesus always brings.

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Many interpret these famous words from Philippians 4 to mean that with enough faith, you can move mountains or conquer any obstacle.
But what happens when your circumstances don’t change? Just like from Job’s friends, you might hear that it’s your fault, maybe for not believing hard enough.
In this short clip, I unpack the true meaning of the well-known Philippians 4 passage. Listen now for a powerful reminder of how to find strength and comfort regardless of your situation and discover the secret of contentment in all circumstances.

Hearing from God. Being led by the Spirit. Following Jesus.
We hear these expressions all the time, but what do they really mean? How are we led? What’s our role? What should we expect?
These were Kat’s questions, and in this short video clip I share my thoughts with her. Along the way, I even recount a memorable moment from “Dancing with the Stars.”

When Diane thought about loving others as Jesus loves her, it seemed so impossible! In fact, it seemed no more possible than living under the old covenant law.
So Diane called in to ask about loving other people and how it really works- without pressure and guilt- under God’s grace.
In this episode, I share my thoughts and highlight an important distinction between the old and the new perspective on love.

Do you need to wake up every day and try to put off your old self? Put off who you were? Or has that already been done?
Ephesians 4 says, “you have heard Him and have been taught in Him…[to] lay aside the old self… and [to] put on the new self.” Here, the verbs are “neutral” or timeless (called infinitives), so you read the context to discover what time they refer to. Clearly, Paul is saying that in first hearing the Gospel they “have heard” and “have been taught” (past tense) to put off the old self and to put on the new self. And that’s exactly what they did through the born-again experience! This is why we see the same idea in past tense in Colossians 3: “you laid aside the old self” and “have put on the new self.”
So, if you don’t have to get busy putting off the old self (done!) and putting on the new self (done!), then what is your role every day? Find out in this episode!

Isaac became a born-again believer at an early age. But that was a long time ago. He grew up feeling his faith every day. In school, he stood up for the Gospel and was even bullied for it. But today Isaac feels very little at times, sometimes nothing at all.
“Where did my faith go? Have I lost it?” These were the questions on Isaac’s mind when he called in. In this short video clip, I address his concerns and offer him real hope.
If you experience times in life when you feel nothing and begin to wonder where your faith is, I hope this encourages you today.

Romans describes a group of people and says “God gave them over to a reprobate mind” (Romans 1:28, KJV).
Maria called in to ask about this “reprobate mind” and whether believers might be given over to it. She was also wondering what it means to “have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Contrary to the notion that God only loves those He pre-selects, the New Testament declares that God’s love is for the whole world. He longs for anyone and everyone to experience salvation, desiring for none to perish and all to believe.
But what about the existence of Hell? If He’s loving, why would God allow some people to experience punishment and separation from Him?

George struggles with sin every day. So, naturally he started to wonder if God even hears his prayers or if he has lost fellowship. And what about those who teach that we believers go in and out of fellowship with God?
Well, do we ever fall out of fellowship? If not, aren’t there still earthly consequences for sin? Get solid and liberating Biblical answers in this episode!

We all want to grow but may find ourselves unsure of where to start.
The popular approach revolves around a performance-based, carrot-and-stick mindset. We’re told to follow a checklist of activities, die to self, strive to hunger and thirst for more of God, and keep short accounts with Him along the way. It can feel like an impossible cycle of trying to get closer to God.
But here’s the good news: We can continue in Christ just as we got started in Him. And God has already given us everything we need to move forward. No waiting, no begging, no pleading, no hungering, no thirsting – we’re complete in Jesus!
Don’t miss this episode that’ll revolutionize your perspective on “discipleship.” You’ll discover the joy and freedom of allowing the life of Christ to flow through you!

We live under a new covenant that carries all kinds of beautiful implications for our new life in Christ. Still, many believers are not aware of the differences between the old and the new.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
What does it mean to “present yourself approved to God”? What should some false teachers be ashamed of? How do we accurately handle God’s Word? These were Brad’s questions about 2 Timothy 2. And in this episode, I address Brad’s concerns. I hope this is clarifying and encouraging to you as you study the truth and rely on God’s approval of you!

Part of the great news of the Gospel is that believers in Christ have moved from death to life. We are now dead to sin and alive to God! But this can lead to some interesting questions:
• If we were spiritually dead as a lost person, what part of us died at salvation?
• If we died, how are we alive now?
• Do we have a human spirit that is distinct from God’s Spirit?
In this episode, I share the incredible realities of what happened to your spirit (and nature) at salvation and how receiving the Holy Spirit fundamentally transformed your relationship to the Law and religious rules.
Grasping these truths can open up a whole new way of living, so check it out and discover how life in Christ brings freedom – including freedom from sin!

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. (2 Peter 2:20)
Worse off at the end? What does this mean? Who is Peter talking about here? Michael called in with concern about the context of this difficult verse. He wondered if it means we believers can end up losing our salvation.

Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may turn out well for you, and that you may live long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:2-3)
Here Paul quotes from the Old Testament Law, instructing the Ephesian children to honor their parents. Why does Paul use the Law? Does this mean that we Christians are still under the moral Law today?
This was Jamal’s question when he called in to our program. In this episode, I share the truth about the commonly held idea of Christians being under the moral Law."
