Conversations about mixed heritage and Black identity are never simple, and we’re not here to pretend we have all the answers. We may not have said everything perfectly. We didn’t say everything we wanted to say. But that’s the whole point—we’re here to talk, to articulate, to learn.We are Black. Full stop. Our “mixed” heritage isn’t outside of Blackness—it’s held within it. Blackness is broad and expansive and we exist fully within it. We are young, gifted, and Black, and we’re in constant motion—growing, progressing, and engaging with ourselves and each other.This is a space for honesty, for exploration, and for getting it right—eventually. And until we do, we’ll keep saying it again.
