One of the common themes I've learned over the years and after over 200 episodes is that business is business. The same principles apply for most businesses starting out and the keys to success are basically the same. So when I had a chance to interview Michael Silva, I jumped on the opportunity.
Michael is a business coach who is trying to save the physical therapy profession. During this episode, it became quite clear that health coaches and physical therapists are industries that have many common struggles. As both occupations have similar missions as wellness practitioners, they also share business struggles from building client relationships to managing pricing and business growth.
Michael joins the show to share his passion of helping physical therapists build the practice of their dreams. He empowers private practice owners to create fulfilling and profitable businesses by niching down, targeting their ideal market, and delivering exceptional experiences. Michael also shares how his journey began as a sports medicine physical therapist and quickly becoming disillusioned with the traditional healthcare model. The turning point came when he decided to start his own practice, driven by the support of his wife and the desire to create a more meaningful career.
This decision led to great success and fulfillment, inspiring him to help others do the same. Through his journey, Michael developed the 5 O's Method, a unique approach to helping physical therapists build successful private practices. Now, Michael is on a mission to transform the profession, one private practice at a time.

The number one complaint health coaches have when starting out in their practice revolves around client acquisition. How do we get consistent clients, especially when we are brand new to the game? How do we get clients when we aren't established and we might be on a tight budget as well? This dilemna is the main reason why health coaches never get their businesses off the ground and end up putting their certifications in the attic.
In this episode, we invited Michael Krug back to the show to share his brilliant strategy on getting consistent clients. Mike leverages Facebook groups to demonstrate his expertise and ends up getting paying customers readily willing to jump on his offers. Listen in as Mike gives a step by step approach on this art and how this cost effective approach has been the backbone of his business.

As a health coach, I really love data. We are often at a disadvantage when it comes to data because unlike doctors, we generally don't have easy access to testing or labwork. But what if we can actually access critical information that has huge health implications right from wearable tech? With the help of heart rate monitors that are easily accessible on our phones or other wearable devices, we can get to know our clients body better and help them gain better control of their stress balance and their autonomic nervous system.
To share his insights on the benefits of capturing your heart rate variability, we invited Dr. Torkil FĂŠrĂž to the show. Dr. Torkil is the author of The Pulse Cure and joins the show to describe how tuning into your heart rate variability can show you how your personal constitution reacts to specific stressors and help us tailor what is needed for optimal health. -
How quickly we forget! Once upon a time, the online fitness and coaching world wasn't a thing. Then the world changed. We all adapted to a world where we moved our lives online. Still, that transition isn't easy and there's a lot of mistakes a health coach or a trainer can make that can stall their success.
To demonstrate how he navigated the transition and how he built a booming online business, we invited Cody Watkins to the show. Dubbed the âKing of Transformation,â Cody is a renowned

Health coaches are naturally helpers. We authentically care about our clients and are out for their best interests. This puts us at a distinct business advantage! Putting clients first is essential for building a successful business. This approach fosters loyalty, trust, and positive word-of-mouth referrals. When clients feel valued and understood, they are more likely to remain loyal and recommend your services to others. This client-centric approach not only enhances customer satisfaction but also drives business growth and sustainability.
Stephanie Fusnik joins the show to drive this point home. Stephanie is nutrition coach, personal trainer, manual osteopathic and neurokinetic therapist, public speaker, and CEO of VitalityOET. One of the most popular life phrases is, "It's not what you know, it's who you know". This holds true for successful health coaching practices as well. By building your network, you can get one of the most sought after leads any business owner would desire: referrals. To this day, nothing beats a referral. And mastering how to network in a way that gets you referrals will only build your bottom line.
To explain how to properly leverage your current network, we invited Kenneth Tinglum to the show. Kenneth is a nutrition expert and a National Trainer at BNI. His mission in both roles is to empower and upliftâwhether it's helping business owners and professionals expand their networks and increase their revenue through building relationships and helping eachother, or guiding individuals towards their optimal health and wellness. Since 2007, he has been deeply involved in both, nurturing dynamic business networks and creating better health.

Is organic traffic dead? Not exactly. However, it isn't free. It costs a ton of time. So if you want to grow your business fast, you should consider spending money over spending your time. Health coaches can use paid ads to find more people by using ads on a variety of platforms from Facebook to Google and get themselves in front of their ideal clients in a hurry. But this is an art and we would never recommend haphazardly throwing money against the wall with ads either.
So to guide us through the world of paid ads, we invited Yuri Elkaim to the show. Yuri is the CEO of Healthpreneur and a New York Times bestselling author. Yuri overcame early health challenges and a career in professional soccer and built an online health empire, impacting over 500,000 lives and authoring three bestselling books. After selling his business in 2018, he launched HealthpreneurÂź, guiding health professionals in creating successful virtual practices. Since then, he has helped over 1300 entrepreneurs earn over $217M in collective revenue.

Has our health suffered? Our relationship with our loved ones? Has our connection to spirit taken a hit? I know the legal aspect of health coaching isn't the first and foremost thing on the mind of a health coach. But we do live in a litigious society. With that being said, we need to protect the business that we are creating. The great thing about it is that it isn't that difficult to put in place, especially when you have Cory Sterling in your corner.
Cory is the founder of Conscious Counsel, a law practice that provides legal counsel for creative, ambitious and heart-leading business owners who build communities and make the world a better and healthier place. His passion is to make the law fun and not something to be overwhelmed by and to make sure safeguards are in place for our businesses to thrive.

I'll be honest. I think niching down is the hardest thing a health coach can do. Even to this day, I feel a lttle funny fully committing to a specific niche no matter how many people tell me the same exact advice and the amazing benefits of gaining that clarity. It really is amazing how there's such a stigma around using a ghostwriter. People get help in the area of writing all the time! I myself use my virtual assistant to do my show notes. I use my copywriter to create my sales pages. But for some reason, even I feel a certain way considering using a ghostwriter to help out with any future books I intend to write. And this is after the fact that countless celebrities use them to get their books out! But maybe we are looking at this whole ghostwriting thing the wrong way.
To demystify the art of ghostwriting, we invited Lynn Smargis to the show. Lynn is the owner of Write For You, a company that creates content for content experts. She joins the show to share the many benefits of using a ghostwriter to not only assist you with your regular book, but to also work with you on book editing, book formatting, and book publishing.

Yoga and health coaching are two modalities that share many common threads, especially when we look at how they play such critical roles in how to transform peopleâs lives. So it doesnât come as a surprise when we learn that many health coaches actively practice yoga and even incorporate yoga into their health coaching practices. So when I had the opportunity to invite Kim Tang to the show, I immediately jumped on the opportunity.
Kim is an Internationally recognized Master Yoga Teacher and the Head Coach of the International Yoga Sports Federation. Kim is inspired to inspire others and is empowered to empower others in their ability to expand and transform their minds, their bodies, their relationships with themselves, and the consciousness with which they conduct not only their practice, but their lives.
