Celebrating a different kind of birthday today: One year alcohol-free! And I couldnât be more proud of myself. Itâs actually shocking to look back over the last year and think about all that has changed in my life. I feel like a completely different person, both physically and emotionally. Letting go of one thing has given me everything, and Iâm so grateful that one random Thursday in 2024, I decided to kick a substance that was no longer serving me. Hereâs to many more sober-versaries. Thank YOU for listening and being a part of this community :)

I remember feeling so incredibly elated in the beginning of sobriety -almost like I was experiencing a high. It was such an unexpected rush that I actually Googled it to see if it was normal. And, of course (because apparently none of us have an original experience), it was totally normal, and it even had a name: The Pink Cloud.

After about 8 months living with family and having constant distractions around me, I am finally moving into my own place again, and I'm a little scared (but mostly super excited!) Living alone used to be my sanctuary for problematic drinking, but now, I'm going to use my space to be creative and productive and become the best version of myself!

Taking your first vacation as a newly sober person can be intimidating, but eventually- vacations become even MORE enjoyable in sobriety! You're not hungover, you're not making all your plans around alcohol, and you're able to enjoy all the different activities available to you. Why the change?
There is another podcast called Hold My Drink that is actually quite famous... the confusion between our two pages has already begun, so while the podcast is still new, I wanted to distinguish our show & also avoid any copyright/ trademark issues down the road. I also wanted a name with the word "sober" in it, so people could easily find it when searching for sobriety content on spotify/apple/etc. And the cherry on top... I love the name maybe even MORE than 'hold my drink.' Prepare yourself for all the ice cream puns with "scoop" haha! Anyways, thanks for being here & I hope you like the new name.
