  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans! Surprise, we have an episode during the international break! The week before Labor Day, Red spoke with Federico from MLS Soccer Italia about the Pids. We discuss the team's tremendous turnaround from 2023 to 2024. We also talk supporters culture, DICK's and more given the Pids are an MLS original and paved the way for MLS expansion teams from tomorrow.

Most of this information you already know. But it's refreshing to hear that someone new to the league and looking at it from a European perspective sees the value in the Rapids and wants to learn more. Enjoy.

Also, here's that episode with legendary Italian Rapids fans, Lino De Rosa.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans. This week on Holding The High Line, it's the international break. Also Red's going on the engineering equivalent of international duty. The guys talk about that Darren Yapi winner among other things.

Rabbi and Red banter about quidditch and soccer team names. We do Good Thing, Bad Thing, Big Thing on the win over FC Dallas. It was a lot of meh and a game of moments. Leagues Cup energy for sure for the Burgundy Boys.

Then we preview the home match against Portland Timbers. That will be after the international break. Do the Timbers own the Rapids? Are they their Kryptonite along with LAFC? Or does this just come down to who the hope team is?

We finish talking the Zack Steffen USMNT snub?

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans and UP THE ****ING PIDS! This week on Holding The High Line, THE RAPIDS beat Club America! Rabbi and Red banter about Moïse Bombito officially going OGC Nice. Check out our special exit interview with Moïse here.

Then we bask in the joy of that win over America. The game plan worked and the players executed it very well. Colorado still played like the smaller team at times. It was another 50/50 game they found a way to win. We relive the penalties heroics from Zack Steffen AGAIN. Liga MX fans are coping and maybe finally seeing the excuses MLS fans made for years during the Conca Champions.

They we've got a really good Ask HTHL on comparing Chris Armas to Coach Lasso. We preview LAFC as Colorado look to get their first ever result at BMO Stadium. Kei Kamara is still there. Olivier Giroud is available. There could be no more fitting test for the Rapids than to finally go on the road to the black and gold and try and win. They've played six road games against LAFC and lost all of them. Total score 17-2. Perhaps this is the way that streak has to end? One final exorcism to make their first final since 2010?

Also we do a Rapids history side quest. Here's the link to that World Soccer Talk article.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fan. This week on Holding The High Line, it's a double game week for the ages. Rabbi and Red discuss the state of the world given what happened in American politics and sports over the weekend. Then we do a Rocky Mountain Cup Preview.

The guys discuss the 1-1 draw with RBNY that kind of got ruined by the weekend heat wave. There were some injuries. Rafael Navarro's now gone four games without a goal. Was the team missing Djordje Mihailović? The lack of changes were a concern for this week, right? Also, those injuries and a familiar goal to concede.

The we talk LA Galaxy. They're new and improved just like the Rapids. We discuss what we like about their attack and how they can be had defensively. Then we turn to Real Salt Lake. Chicho Arango is suspended. Diego Luna and Cole Bassett might go straight iso ball as they prove they should be with the Olympics team. RSL's record isn't as impressive since May 18 as you might think.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans! This week on Holding The High Line, the vibes are back. We look back of a Rapids 4th of July win over Sporting KC and Sunday Night Football against St. Louis CITY FC.

We discuss Oliver Larraz and Darren Yapi scoring their first MLS goals. Michael Edwards got his first MLS start. All three were a vibe. Cole Bassett and the offense were cooking. The team controlled two games. There's still some defensive mistakes and concerns.

Besides Yapi Hour, we talk international football. The Euros are going. Canada are out of Fight Club (I mean Copa America). Then there's Djordje Mihailović making the USMNT Olympic roster but Cole Bassett missing out.

We finish out with Ask HTHLs on the international window, Edwards, Moïse Bombito, and more.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans. This week on Holding The High Line, there's excitement for 4th of July and a reality check. We banter about Rafael Navarro getting confirmed, Lamine Diack heading back to France, and Keegan Rosenberry surprisingly making the MLS All-Star team.

We break down that 3-0 loss to LAFC on Saturday. The approach and ideas were good, but they were too aggressive and naive to start the match. The Black and Gold showed why they are one of the best teams in MLS, especially when they're ahead at home. The Burgundy Boys hung in there in the second half until Kévin Cabral got sent on. There's a discussion to be had about how the Pids were undisciplined for the first time this year. But hey, Mike Edwards was ok off the bench.

Then we turn to another double game week. Sporting KC are old and bad. St. Louis CITY know what they are and could have a new coach bump after parting ways with Bradley Carnell. We talk about what John Hackworth could do come Sunday.

We recorded this episode before the USMNT's loss to Uruguay. How about Canada getting out of the group though?

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans. After a nine point week, it's all vibes here on Holding The High Line. Rabbi and Red banter about silly season. We discuss why we think the Rafael Navarro permanent transfer is not done yet and what the timeline could be. Then there's Olympique Lyonnais' interest in Moïse Bombito. Matt's got some information on that and perspective on how the Rapids could be approaching that. There's a lot of moving parts and variables to consider. Still, it's a bull market for those with Moïse Bombito maple syrup futures.

Then we discuss the two wins from last week. Djordje Mihailović got a hat trick at St. Louis CITY. Sebastian Anderson looked good. The team managing the game state well. How about that clean sheet even with the penalty miss.

Then there was the 4-1 win over CF Montreal. Calvin Harris did so well. Mihailović scored again then they did Navarro a solid by setting him up for the fourth goal in stoppage time. Plus, the Rapids players, staff, and fanbase showed support for Bombito after he was racially abused on social media. #WeStandWithBombi

Matt and Mark then look ahead to LAFC on Saturday. Colorado has never won in five games there and have been outscored 14-2. Kei Kamara revenge tour? Can the Rapids avoid playing small like previous games there? This match could feel like a playoff game if so.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans. Happy Juneteenth! This week on Holding The High Line, Rabbi's still on family vacation in SoCal. So we call up Braidon Nourse from the Denver Post for his first appearance on the show. Check out his latest piece on Rapids goalkeeper Adam Beaudry here.

The guys banter about Euros and Landon Donovan's hair, which apparently was due to a hair transplant. Twitter absolutely roasted him. So did those Albanian fans with the spaghetti.

The we talk Rapids, breaking down that 2-0 win against Austin FC. Cole Bassett and Rafael Navarro are cooking. Jackson Travis got his MLS home debut. Lalas Abubakar and Zack Steffen did their jobs against Diego Rubio. There was no revenge tour for Diego unfortunately for him.

Then we preview this double game week. St. Louis FC are not the same team they were last year. At the same time, this fixture last year was a new low for the club. Also, Anthony Markanich revenge tour? Then CF Montreal are in turmoil at the front office level and aren't great on the field. Victor Wanyama is back though. Braidon and Matt discuss whether Colorado can make this a four point week or better?

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans. This week on Holding The High Line, Welcome To Wrexham stole our meme! Rabbi and Red banter about the international break. The vibes around the USMNT are slightly better after that draw against Brazil. We talk expectations for them at Copa America, Cole Bassett not getting minutes against Japan, and Moïse Bombito getting a draw against Kylian Mbappé.

Then we discuss the Rapids summer transfer window. Where are we at on the options to buy for Rafael Navarro and Lamine Diack? Who could we see leaving the club? What's the timeline for Bombito and Bassett, if there is one? What positions would we target?

Then we discuss Saturday's home match against Austin FC and the Diego Rubio return to Commerce City. The boys break down how the season is going for the Verde and Black, what the former Pids are up to, and if this is a must win. Both teams will be looking to respond after two losses a few weeks ago.

  • Hello Colorado Rapids fans! Happy National Hug Your Cat Day. Happy 80th Anniversary of D-Day, one of the greatest days in American history. This week on Holding The High Line, the Pids took two Ls on the road.

We banter about the MLS All-Star Game. Voting is open through June 10 for fans and media. We discuss why the Rapids haven't had an All Star since 2017 and why they're unlikely to get one this year, again. Poor 2022 Diego Rubio. Poor Cole Bassett and Moïse Bombito. No ASG Without Rapids Representation!

But hey, at least those guys will have fun this international break. Also, how about Emma Hayes' Lady Yanks? The Colorado girls are back and they cooked in those two friendlies against Korea.

Then we talk about Colorado losing on the road to Houston Dynamo and Vancouver Whitecaps. All that squad rotation was something. Was it a good thing short term or long term? Who did a job and who was poor? What's wrong with the defense and is it all (or mostly) on goalkeeper Zack Steffen? Rafael Navarro missed another penalty. Djordje Mihailović was great at least.

Then we've got a good Ask HTHL about bringing Dominique Badji back and playing a 4-4-2 diamond.
