The Substance is a 2024 satirical body horror film written, directed, co-edited, and co-produced by Coralie Fargeat. It follows a fading celebrity (Demi Moore) who uses a black market drug that creates a much younger version of herself (Margaret Qualley) with unexpected side effects. Dennis Quaid also stars.
An international co-production between France, the United Kingdom, and the United States,[6] the film had its world premiere on 19 May 2024 at the 77th Cannes Film Festival main competition, where Fargeat won Best Screenplay. It was released theatrically in the United Kingdom and the United States by Mubi on 20 September 2024, and in France by Metropolitan Filmexport on 6 November 2024. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning over $66 million on a $17.5 million production budget.

Designed to strike terror into its most violent and dangerous prisoners, it's construction was heavily influenced by the Quakers. They believed that these inmates could be rehabilitated by hard work, isolation and god. They thought solitary confinement would lead these men and women to penitence, the root word of Penitentiary. But the deafening silence drove many of these prisoners to the brink of insanity, leading to riots, murders, suicides and unspeakable violent acts. Today the brooding gothic edifice is widely regarded as one of the most haunted buildings in the entire world.

Alien: Romulus is a 2024 American science fiction horror film directed by Fede Álvarez and written by Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues. Produced by Scott Free Productions and Brandywine Productions, it is part of the Alien franchise, set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). The film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. It follows three pairs of siblings, all downtrodden young space colonists, who encounter hostile creatures while scavenging a derelict space station.
