  • In John 15:15, Jesus says this to His followers

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Isn’t that amazing that the God of the universe calls you His friend? But what about your other friends? Do they know Him?

God’s offer of friendship is for every person on the planet. If your friends don’t know Him, they can!

Since Jesus is your closest friend, why not introduce your other friends to Him? Will you take a moment to pray this with me right now?

Lord, I am blessed to call You my friend, and you are always loving, you are always faithful. Please, God, would You show me how to share the Gospel, so that I could draw other people in my life into this amazing circle of friendship that I have with You? Amen.

  • How should you pray?

Is there a certain place you should go or specific words you should use?

There’s a verse in the Bible that brings clarity to these questions. It says

Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

    Pray without ceasing
That means that the place to pray is
wherever you are!And the best time to pray is
any time! And the best posture is
 any posture.

God wants you to talk with Him through prayer every day, at any time, anywhere. Talk to God just like He is your best friend. Because He is!

His presence is with you always. Whether you’re at church or home. You can have direct access to God in prayer.

  • Have you ever wanted to share the Gospel but hesitated because it just didn’t feel natural?

Well, I want to encourage you
find a way to share Jesus that feels natural, authentic for you. There is no formula. And each person’s story of coming to know Jesus, each person’s communication style, it’s different. And that’s more than okay—it’s actually good. Very good!

    1 Corinthians says,

How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.

So that means each of us shares the Gospel in a unique way, and God has beautifully set it up that way because each person who comes to know Jesus needs to receive the Good News in a unique way.

Will you pray today and ask God to show you an authentic way for you, the natural way that you would share the Gospel?

Remember there is always hope with God. This is Andrew Palau.

  • One thing that never fails to amaze me is that God calls us His friends.

I am His friend! And if you’ve given your life to Him, guess what? You’re His friend!

    In John 15:15, Jesus says

I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

How amazing. God has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ. And He wants to continue drawing close into intimate friendship day by day. Will you read His word and learn about life with Jesus?

What God wants with you is not just religious traditions. But, real friendship.

Will you spend some personal time with your friend, Jesus, today?

  • So many things can prevent us from sharing the Gospel, but one of the most common thoughts is, “I just don’t want to bother people. I don’t want to be rude by making them feel uncomfortable.”

Consider this for a moment. If you saw someone wounded on the roadside, would it be rude to stop and offer them help? That’s the truth of the situation!

People are making choices every day out of their own brokenness. And there is a widespread longing for spiritual depth tugging at the loose threads of a post-christian generation.

Ephesians 2 says, And God raised us up with Christ that
he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

My friend, because you know Jesus, you’re rich. It is not a bother, it’s not rude, to generously share Jesus with others. It’s a blessing on offer to every person. And we’re the ones that get to tell them!

  • Have you done things you’re not proud of?

Most of us have something in our past, a foolish choice we’ve made, and we still feel embarrassed when we think about it—I’ve been there. I’ve got lots.

But there’s something bigger in our lives now. We live for Jesus, the One who washes our sins away, and covers us with His very own righteousness. That is Good News! That is something we should NEVER be ashamed to share.

The apostle Paul said in Romans 1,

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.

No matter what has happened in your past, you are saved and you are forgiven by Jesus.

Will you boldly share that same powerful Gospel message with the people in your life? Share the wonderful things God has done in your life, and don’t be ashamed!

  • When I find something I love, I tell all my friends about it.

I want them to try it. I want them to enjoy it as much as I do. And I want to spread the joy of a good thing. Don’t you?

But what is the BEST part of your life?

If God is the best part of our lives, why wouldn’t we tell our friends? It doesn’t have to be complicated. The joyful life we have in Christ is an offer for all people. And it’s a treasure too good to keep to ourselves.

Listen to this beautiful passage from 2 Corinthians:We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.

My friend, Christ is the greatest treasure and He’s living inside you. Share Him generously with the people that you love.

  • When you think about sharing Jesus with your friends or family, what feelings come up?

Anxiety? Awkwardness? Fear of not knowing what to say? We tend to overthink it, don’t we?

But, sharing the Good News of Jesus does not have to be complicated.

The apostle Paul once said in a letter to the Corinthian church,

I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.

That’s what people need to know that Jesus loves them—so much so that He was willing to come to the earth and die on a cross. And He did it willingly, for the sake of love. In order to close the distance caused by sin, and bring them into relationship with Himself.

When you consider sharing the Gospel, why don’t you resolve to forget everything except this message: Jesus loves you so much that He died in order to spend forever with you.

    Share the simple Gospel today.

  • Who do you know who is struggling right now?

Sometimes when we see friends making poor life choices, it can be so hard to know what to do.

But we know the One who is able to set people free. What would happen if we shared Jesus right in these moments?

Sharing Jesus doesn’t always mean bringing correction and judgment. People who have never met Jesus need to know first that they are loved and that God has the desire and the power to help them. They need to know that there is hope in Christ.

In John 8, the word of God says, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I know, just as I do, that you want the people you care about to experience freedom in Christ. Sharing the truth of the Gospel is the kindest thing that we can do.

  • What do you say when someone says, “Tell me about yourself”?

Do you immediately answer, “I’m a follower of Jesus”?

    Maybe not.

But if you are a follower of Jesus, that means your life has indeed been changed by the power of the Gospel. More than that, you’ve become part of God’s wonderful, unfolding story of love for the whole earth!

Even though it may not be the first thing out of your mouth when you meet someone, I want to encourage you-don’t keep it a secret!

Ephesians 3:7 says, By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.

It’s not only a privilege to share the Gospel with those you meet; it’s part of who you are. Take a moment to consider today: what might God do if you went through life authentically sharing the truth of how Jesus has changed you?

  • You may be at a difficult place in your life right now when you are struggling.

I want to encourage you today with some quotes from the Bible which tell us about the help and strength available to us in God.

Psalm 54:4 tells us: “God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.”

Are you burned out from the stresses of life? In Matthew 11:28 we read the words of Jesus: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

What about physical and financial needs? Jesus said, “Don’t worry about these things,
your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

These tremendous promises give me encouragement when I feel the pressures of this world. I hope you turn to God and His Word today for the strength you need.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

  • Do you sometimes feel haunted by your past
things you've done?

Or things that have been done to you? Do you have those times, maybe in the middle of the night, when you're under pressure
the memories arise and you feel haunted? Maybe the guilt emerges, and you thought you were past it.

Oh, my friend, you are not alone. You can be clean. You can know you are clean, forgiven. It is what the cross of Jesus Christ is all about. Maybe today you could pray the prayer of David, prayed in Psalm 51.

When he cried out to God, “Wash me and I will be whiter than snow.” My friend, why don't you ask him today and allow the Spirit of God to fill you with joy and gladness because He has cleaned you out?

  • One of my favorite Bible verses is John 10:10.

Jesus says, “I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full.”

He continues with this amazing statement: “I am the good shepherd
and I lay down my life for the sheep.”

Jesus was using the analogy of a shepherd who loves and cares for his sheep to describe His relationship with us. He is God, but He came to this world because He loves humankind to the extent that He was willing to die for us.

Later in John chapter 10 Jesus alluded to His death on the cross by saying that “No one takes {my life}from me, I lay it down of my own accord.”

Never think of yourself as being of little worth. Just remember the Good Shepherd who died to save you. And not only to save you but to give you life to the full. I hope you will open your heart to Him today.

  • What do you need today?

In the Old Testament, God is named, “Provider.” The one who can miraculously meet our needs. The creator of all knows what you need.

Maybe your need today is physical. Maybe your need is emotional. He is able to provide for you. Being a provider is part of His character. In fact, He's provided for our greatest need—the need for a Savior, the need to be forgiven, by giving and sending His Son, Jesus.

The very first time God was named, “Provider,” in the Old Testament, was when Abraham needed a substitute sacrifice and God provided. If He can provide for our greatest need, He can provide for your daily needs.

Do you know Him as “Provider?” Always remember, there is hope with God.

"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

  • There’s an intriguing verse in the Bible, in the tiny book of Philemon.

It’s Philemon 1:6 and it says, “I pray that you will be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of all the good things that you have in Christ Jesus.”

You would think God would have said, “I pray you’ll be active in sharing your faith because I need your help so much.” Right? But He says, share your faith so you will understand all the riches you have in Christ.

It’s amazing! The God who needs no one has chosen to work through and in His children.

We can bless others by sharing with them the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ, and in turn we are blessed as our understanding grows.

As we watch people’s lives being transformed by God, we can more fully grasp what He has done in our own lives. [It’s a win/win situation!]

Let’s joyfully share our faith, knowing that God will bless us as well as those we are talking with.

  • Sometimes we find ourselves in a dark place.

We all go through struggles with sin, the old darkness that tries to creep back into our new lives.

In those times we need God to come with His wonderful light and keep us from giving in to temptation and despair.

We need Him to forgive and restore us, and fill us with His love. We need Him to shine His light into the dark corners of our souls and illuminate every shadow.

Remember what Jesus said – we read it in John chapter 8 – “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

When you struggle with the old darkness, remember that you have a Father in heaven who loves you.

Call out for help from the One whose light drives out the darkness. Lay claim to the forgiveness which was purchased for you on the cross by the powerful blood of Jesus.

  • Psalm 107 tells us that God's love endures forever.

The actual verse says, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever.

Have you thought much about forever and how few things last forever?

To think that the God of the universe has told us that His love will last forever
His love for us, His creation. People who reject Him
we ignore Him, we blame Him, we even curse Him, yet His love endures forever.

If you grew up knowing this, it can be too familiar for us. But maybe you've never considered this or you've never known that if there is a God, that His love endures forever.

I pray this sinks in for you today. His love for you will never end.

  • There is a house under construction in my neighborhood.

The builders started by pouring a solid, level foundation. They then add the sturdy bones of the house. Without that solid foundation and the beams and joists, the whole thing would collapse.

The Bible describes Jesus in a similar role. Jesus became the basis of our salvation, the foundation of our faith. He sacrificed Himself, making a way for us to be right with God, and bringing us into relationship with Him.

Because of this, Jesus has become the cornerstone of the house He is building, and the Bible tells us we are living stones in that structure.

You are joined in Christ to a huge structure of believers all over the world. This is His Church. What an honor to be a stone in that building!

  • In Psalm 95, God is called the rock of our salvation.

What a beautiful image of something immovable, like a huge rock. God isn’t described as a pebble or a stone. We can't pick Him up in our hands and move Him. We can't hold Him. He is unmovable. And guess what
 He holds us.

Christianity is so beautifully unique because of the solid nature of God. What we do doesn't change His attitude or posture towards us.

This is the salvation He offers. It is firm, it is secure. God is the rock of our salvation.

Is He your rock? Or are you continuing to try to move Him according to your desires and wants? He is unmovable and that should be our deep comfort.

"Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1

  • Change is hard!

Perhaps you are going through a big change in your life, and it all feels like an unstable mess.

It may feel as though chaos is taking over, and your life is completely out of control. The good news is that God never changes. Even when everything else is shifting, He stays the same.

God will give you a firm place to stand – in Jesus Christ. Put your faith in Jesus. He promises that He will be with us through the hard times of life.

When we put our trust in Him and look to Him as the source of our stability, He will not let us be swept away by the changing tides of life. Jesus is an anchor for your soul.** He is your safe harbor.** He is the solid rock.** You can stand firm in Him.**
