  • What we expected to be a lovely conversation about Emma Seligman's feature debut, 2021's 'Shiva Baby'. Caroline & Producer corey defend the INCOMPARABLE Rachel Sennott performance, argue that Dianna Agron is amazing in this, and make a case that this film is more stressful than the entirety of 'Uncut Gems.' And, Carson... thought it was FINE. This is a wild, but REALLY good time.

Pennebaker film, Original Cast Album: Company (1970) & the Documentary Now! Episode spoofing it, Original Cast Album: Co-Op (2019) We talk Sondheim, Elaine Stritch, John Mulaney, debate if the parody works, obsess over the modern musical, and so much more.

  • This week we are hitting the GYM and discussing Michael Bay’s American Masterpiece, 2013’s Pain & Gain. Should The Rock have an Oscar? Is Michael Bay the only filmmaker to have multiple Razzies AND multiple entries in The Criterion Collection? Listening to the difference between Caroline’s presumed opinions in the first half and her actual opinions in the second half is worth the price of admission alone.

  • Perhaps the most criminal result of the delay of DUNE: Part 2 was the delay of our episode covering Denis Villeneuve’s 2013 film, Prisoners. Starring a veritable who’s who of some of our biggest movie stars; we lament over what could have been for Jackman’s song and dance career, debate how many superheroes and polka dots David Dastmalchian has played, and drool over just how STUPID hot Jake Gyllenhaal is. TLDR- We do everything we can to still make it a real good time.

  • This week, JJ Bersch from Blank Check with Griffin & David, returns to top his own record and deliver our longest episode ever. For the first time ever, a guest brings a movie Caroline & Carson haven’t seen. We discussed Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Solaris.’ Clooney is charming as ever, Viola Davis turns in an outstanding early career performance, and this episode is a real good time!

  • This week, we are covering Sofia Coppola’s sophomore feature starring Bill Murray & Scarlett Johansson, 2003’s Lost In Translation. This film follows Johansson & Murray as they meet while following their individual journeys that have led them to Tokyo. Through Coppola’s signature style, the two form a bond that is as unlikely as it is meaningful.

  • St. Patricks’ month comes to MAYBE the most upsetting possible conclusion; This week we are discussing David Slade’s 2006 film ‘Hard Candy’. Starring Patrick Wilson, Elliot Page, and Sandra Oh, this film draws a wildly striking resemblance to Emerald Fennel’s ‘Promising Young Woman’. Good, bad, and ugly, this film makes for some excellent conversation.

  • St. Patricks’ month continues this week with Joel Schumacher’s 2004 musical movie ‘The Phantom of the Opera.’ There are SO many CHOICES made in this movie, good, bad, or indifferent. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a WEIRDLY auto-biographical musical, and then turned it into a weirdly auto-biographical movie. Patrick Wilson is our shining light and always will be. The theatre kids are out in full force this week, but we promise it’s a REAL good time!

  • T his is our annual awards show where we debrief on everything the Oscars did right and/or wrong, award our favorite films of the year, and look at the year ahead! After a wild 2023, it was a joy to sit down and look back on what was a pretty dang good year in movies. Hope y'all enjoy!

  • It’s March! And, if there’s one thing about us- We’re going to commit to a bit. So, we are INCREDIBLY proud to welcome you all to St. Patrick’s MONTH! That’s right- This month we’re exclusively covering movies starring our patron saint- Patrick Wilson. We’re starting with Todd Fields’ 2006 film ‘Little Children.’

  • IT’S THE CAROLINE THOMPSON 30TH BIRTHDAY SPECTACULAR SPECIAL! This week, we’re covering Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 2021 film Tick, Tick… Boom! Andrew Garfield plays Jonathan Larson in the semi auto-bigoraphical film based on his unfinished stage work. We found a bit and COMMITTED. We recorded this episode around Caroline’s 30th birthday. Turns out, turning 30 ain’t that bad! We have a very nuanced discussion around this film, musical movies, Larson’s work, and how it fits into history.

  • It might be love month still, but this week Caroline is bringing 1967’s Warren Beatty & Fay Dunaway picture Bonnie & Clyde. Has anyone ever looked hotter on film than Warren Beatty? What review in Untitled Letterboxd Game ends “Fortnite Battle Royale!”? Oh, and Gene Wilder is here too? This episode is classic HHYNS and a REAL good time!

  • This week we are discussing 2011’s Crazy, Stupid, Love. This movie is one of the most chaotic things to ever exist, with a STUPID stacked cast- Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, and Marisa Tomei to name a few. This film swings from charming/fun to disgusting/illegal and settles somewhere FIRMLY in the middle. We play a truly excellent game of Recast It this week and get into a firm debate. Is Steve Carell hot in this movie?? This episode is a REAL good time!

  • This week, we are discussing the Daniel Radcliffe & Zoe Kazan romantic comedy, What If. (Also known as The F Word) This film is maybe the most aggressively 2013 thing ever made. But, it’s still a lot of fun despite this! It’s got Adam Driver, fresh off of girls, re-treads some themes from When Harry Met Sally, and makes our entire show feel ANCIENT. It’s only been 11 years, but the costumes in this thing have aged like sour milk. Regardless, this episode and conversation is a REAL good time!

  • HAPPY LOVE MONTH! We’re kicking off the Valentine’s season by discussing Ang Lee’s 1995 Jane Austen adaptation ‘Sense and Sensibility’. Emma Thompson’s adaptation is our newest entry into the comfort film pantheon. Between Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Imelda Staunton, and Alan Rickman (I’m positive someone is left off this list), this film is truly a study in all great British actors.

  • It is the last episode of Jimuary, we’re discussing James Cameron’s 1989 film, The Abyss. Caroline wants to know if she can tell you a little bit more about her lord and savior, James Cameron? In all seriousness, she provides some incredible behind the scenes facts. (This thing was filmed in an ABANDONED NUCLEAR REACTOR??) We play an always excellent game of Recast It, share our Cameron rankings, and as always have a REAL GOOD TIME.

  • WE. ARE. BACK. AGAIN covering James Cameron’s 1991 classic, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This episode has it all, Corey becomes a communist, we obsess over this being maybe the COOLEST movie ever, and we somehow talk about Rudy Giuliani, Sarah Palin, and the novel Coronavirus. Most importantly, it’s a REAL. GOOD. TIME.
