In our season finale, the importance of reinvention is never clearer than in the stories from playwright Gordon Farrell's career, where he had to keep coming back to what drew him to writing in the first place in order to continue moving forward.Gordon Farrell's play, "The Lifespan Of A Fact," starring Daniel Radcliffe, Tony-Award winner Cherry Jones, and Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale performed on Broadway from 2018 to 2019. It was co-written with Jeremy Kareken & David Murrell, directed by Leigh Silverman, and produced by eight-time Tony Award winner Jeffrey Richards. Gordon was trained as a playwright at the Yale School of Drama and went from there to work with major Hollywood studios, initially as a story analyst for Warner Brothers and Columbia Pictures, and eventually as a screenwriter. He has written for hire and sold screenplays to Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers, MGM and ITC. He has worked with Robert Simonds (producer of Big Daddy, The Wedding Singer); Neil Moritz (producer of XXX, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Fast and Furious) and Bruce Berman (producer of Matrix, Three Kings, Mad Max: Fury Road). Working in independent film, Gordon has written for and sold projects to NYC indie producer Norman Twain (producer of Lean on Me, Boycott, Scar, My Dog Tulip). Gordon's first independent screenplay, Girls Who Smoke, premiered in 2011. It went to be an official selection at over a dozen film festivals, ultimately winning the Audience Choice Award in Seattle at the Post Alley Film Festival. As a playwright, Gordon developed a trilogy of monologue plays for women, The Red Anthology, on New York's Lower East Side from 2009 to 2014. He developed it into an immersive walk through theater experience which ran Off-Broadway in 2024. His plays have also been produced in San Francisco, at the Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo, at the Yale School of Drama in New Haven, and at Primary Stages in New York. He authored the book for a series of award-winning musicals based on the life and death of Sherlock Holmes, which ran for three seasons in Buffalo, NY. He is the author of The Power of the Playwright's Vision, published by Heinemann Press in 2001 which has been translated internationally and is now a standard playwriting text on four continents.Gordon FarrellIMDBAlex KeledjianAlex Keledjian is the creator of Project Greenlight, a documentary television series where executive producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck gave first-time filmmakers a chance to direct their first feature film. There are an infinite number of stories to tell, an infinite number or worlds to explore. But sometimes one just burrows into your brain and won't let go, squirming into every daydream and idle conversation, demanding to be brought to life. And writer-producer Pete Jones believes those are the ones worth pursuing.
An up and coming filmmaker who got his big break thanks to the Miramax sponsored competition "Project Greenlight," Peter Jones went from production assistant and insurance salesman to director and screenwriter almost overnight when he was awarded $1 million with which to produce his debut feature "Stolen Summer' (2002). He's since gone on to write multiple successful comedy films, including "Ricky Stanicky," "The Greatest Beer Run Ever," and "Hall Pass."

In writer/producer/showrunner John Glenn's view, there should really only be one reason you go into show business: a love of storytelling. Anything else gets in the way of the most important task at hand, and that is doing the work you should already love.
John Patrick Glenn is an American screenwriter, producer, and show runner who has worked with a multitude of A list actors, producers, and almost every studio and network in film and television. Glenn launched his screenwriting career in 1999, when he sold his spec script Red World to Jerry Bruckheimer and Walt Disney Pictures in a multi-studio bidding war. Since, he has scripted original films for every major studio, handled production rewrites, produced and directed film, and created Television at myriad of major networks. Most recently he wrote and produced the film Elevation, starring Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin, which is slated for a fall 2024 release. Glenn's previous work includes SEAL Team, DreamWork's Eagle Eye, and is currently working on The Assassin at MAX and a historically based version of Robin Hood set up at Lionsgate and MGM.

Egos abound in the business of show. But if you aim to be like writer/directors John and Dave Chernin, then you'll have to accept that there are always new ways of doing things and different approaches to storytelling that you are totally unaware of and should probably embrace.
Brothers John and Dave Chernin started their television careers as writers for the hit comedy IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA (FXX). The duo co-wrote 10 episodes while on the ALWAYS SUNNY writing staff, and departed after six seasons with the show in order to spearhead their own creative project, THE MICK (FOX). INCOMING, the Chernin brothers’ directorial debut from Artists Road and Spyglass Media production follows four freshmen — played by Thames, Bardia Seiri, Ramon Reed and Raphael Alejandro — as they navigate the terrors of youth at their first-ever party. Incoming crashes onto Netflix on August 23rd!

Shortcuts are an illusion and if you want your passion to lead to success, you need to put in the work. But, actor David Dastmalchain notes, more than that you need to fully realize what it is you're trying to achieve if you want others to follow you on the quest to make that idea a reality.
Actor, writer, and producer David Dastmalchian has had supporting roles in a number of superhero franchises: he portrayed Thomas Schiff in The Dark Knight (2008), Kurt and Veb in the Ant-Man franchise, Abra Kadabra in the CW's The Flash, and Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad (2021). Dastmalchian has appeared in David Lynch's Twin Peaks: The Return, as well as three films directed by Denis Villeneuve: Prisoners (2013), Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and Dune (2021). Although he is best known for his work as a character actor, Dastmalchian had leading roles in the 2014 semi-autobiographical film Animals, which he wrote, and the 2023 horror film Late Night with the Devil, which he produced. He is also set to portray Mr. 3 in the Netflix series One Piece. His roots in theater and on-screen performances have informed his narrative style, giving his characters depth and a compelling sense of reality. Dastmalchian's exceptional ability to create complex, relatable characters has made him a force to be reckoned with in the comic industry. He is best known for his work on "Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter," a series praised for its rich storytelling, unique characters, and blend of horror and dark humor elements. His unique approach to genre storytelling earned him a devoted fan base and critical acclaim.

The first ever time someone steps on a movie set, be they actor, director, writer or whoever, can be extremely precarious. Producer Javier Gonzalez says humility is always the safest move because it brings out the best in others, as it did for Clint Eastwood in his 1971 directorial debut and today's "B-side": Play Misty for Me.
Javier Gonzalez is a Mexican-American, El Paso, TX-based, Emmy-winning and Sundance Grand Jury Prize- winning Producer whose films and series have been selected for the Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Toronto, South by Southwest, New York, Rotterdam, TriBeCa, Fantastic Fest, Morelia, Glasgow, Hot Docs, Stockholm, Denver, Sitges, Los Cabos, True/False, Miami, Cartagena and Fanstasia Film Festivals. Javier has spent the last twenty years working in various production capacities throughout the American and Mexican film industries. Javier is fluent in Spanish, English and German. Javier has been a guest lecturer for the film program at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Your creative voice comes from your identity and experiences. So it's only natural that creative geniuses like Everybody Loves Raymond creator Phil Rosenthal mine their own lives for their work. He's been fortunate enough to tread a path that few get to follow.
Phil has garnered a cult like following for his Netflix series SOMEBODY FEED PHIL, which released it’s seventh season on Netflix on March 1. In the series, Phil takes viewers with him as he travels and discovers new cities through culture, people, and most importantly, food, in a way that is fresh, digestible, funny, and truly makes you want to visit that city. Phil has had tourism boards across the globe tell him that his show has directly impacted the growth of tourism in each of the cities he has visited. In Phil’s words, “if everybody could experience a little bit of each other’s experiences, the world would be a better place.” He is one of those rare people who folks gravitate towards as if he was an old friend that they’ve known their whole life. The interactions fans have with Phil is like groupies of a rock band, except its men, women, kids, grandparents, and everyone alike, all approaching Phil about their experiences with travel and food. Following a resounding call from fans, he created a companion book, Somebody Feed Phil The Book, which was released in October 2022. He followed this up with a new children’s book he created with his daughter, Lily, called: JUST TRY IT: A Phil and Lil Book, a hilarious picture book geared towards young children about a food-loving dad encouraging his picky eater daughter to just try something new which released March 2024. Both books immediately hit the New York Times Best Seller list. Phil is also currently wrapping up his second 25-city tour, with upcoming shows across California and Arizona. Phil’s heartwarming live show unites families just the way Phil’s original series EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND did over 20 years ago. Phil is one of those rare people who folks gravitate towards as if he was an old friend that they’ve known their whole life. The interactions fans have with Phil are like groupies of a rock band, except its men, women, kids, and grandparents, all approaching Phil about their experiences with travel and food and making Phil’s favorite saying, “food is the great human connector”, come to life.
