THE EPISODE BEGINS AFTER OUR CHRISTMAS AD!
The Middle Ages stunk! That's my opinion, so there.
Join us this #Friday, as we take a look at the general hygiene standards of the Middle Ages. It's not so much a look at the sanitation they lived with (we covered that in Are You Taking Sh!te Again[?] and there's no need to go over it again).
This one is a look at how often they washed (but it's not too close a look on account of the smell).
Some of the evidence in history books that argued the point that the #MiddleAges DIDN'T stink, and some argued that the #MiddleAges DID stink.
My argument isn't that they weren't hygienic (or aware of it's importance), I argue that the whole age STUNK! And as we'll see in the episode, their method of washing their clothes undoubtedly led to an abundance of stink & funk.
Join us as we hold our noses while we investigate one of the smelliest times in #history.

One of the most well known sea disasters is the story of #Titanic, the worldâs first 'unsinkable ship', which sank on its maiden voyage across the #Atlantic. Itâs a story we all know but what you mightnât know is just how badly #WhiteStarLines behaved before AND after the tragedy. Or how badly the captains of a couple of vessels behaved during the events of the 15th of April, 1912. The tragedy of Titanic prompted a series of stricter #maritime safety standards. And rightly so. In this episode, we discuss the #tragedyofTitanicâs sinking and the horrendous loss of life that occurred, brought on by the irresponsible actions of many individuals and how appalling some people (not on the ship), behaved.#INTEB #ImNotTheExpertBut #titanicmovie #titanicbelfast #titanicmuseum #Titanic #tragedyatsea

The final instalment of our #Halloween2024 extravaganza: #Zombies! & #Werewolves!! & #Vampires!!! (oh my) has dropped!
In #Vampires!!!, we explore the very disturbing origins of the biggest #dawg of them all, the big cheese, the head honcho, Dracula.
Even though #Dracula wasn't the origin of the #Vampire legend, he's the most famous of them all. With Incredible speed, strength, impressive longevity and a questionable dress sense, #Dracula is the stuff of nightmares.
Looking like a bulldog licking p*ss off a nettle one minute, and then a suave sh*te the next, #Dracula could pop up anywhere at any time. Provided it's not daytime. #Dracula don't play that particular game.
Join us for a very disturbing look at the #origins of the one, the only, the very reprehensible, #Dracula.
Happy Halloween Everybody!

The second chapter in our #Halloween2024 extravaganza: "Zombies & Werewolves & Vampires, oh my!" is here!
This time we're taking a look at the very sinister #origins of #werewolves. I don't mind admitting that this #episode freaked me out when I was researching it. I kinda had a fair idea where this one was going to lead but I absolutely DID NOT expect that it would have such disturbing beginnings!
I guess this is what #AllHallowsEve is about.
Shocked. Shocked, I tells ya!Join us as we dive into the very disturbing #origins of #lycans. Keep an eye out for the last episode dropping at midnight on 31st of October (Halloween Night)!#INTEB #ImNotTheExpertBut

As a bit of a prelude to Halloween 2024, we're taking a look back at Samhain - The Origins of Halloween from season 1.
This is one of our favourite episodes because it's one of our favourite times of the year! Maybe it's the fact that we get to watch wall-to-wall horror movies, or maybe that we get to flex our pagan muscles, or maybe it's because we get to eat far too many sweets.
Whatever the reasons might be, this is, without doubt, the greatest gift #Ireland has ever given to the world.
Join us as we dive back into Samhain in preparation for this year's episode which will be out in just a couple of weeks...

Day 2 of INTEBstock is a wind down to the inaugural INTEBstock festival. Well, maybe not so much a wind down as a roaring handbraker to end the joyride!
In hindsight, maybe wellies were an item we should've suggested in the first episode but, it is what it is, you're here now, you may as well get muddy up to you eyeballs!
And on the main stage...we have our two mic controllers for the day..
-
In this episode we look at some of the biggest, best, not so good and plainly bat shit crazy music festivals in history, and Del and Pól share their own festival stories.

Tattoos are a ubiquitous in society, they're everywhere and they have a myriad of meanings & reasons - it all depends on who you ask! In The History of Tattoos (part 2), we dive into a host of different reasons for people wearing Tattoos.
From the Polynesian Islands of the pacific, to South American cultures, to ancient Egyptians society, Tattoos served a purpose in life. There is even speculation that some tattooing that was done was for medicinal reasons.
We also briefly cover the tattooing of prisoners in Auschwitz Concentration camp by the Nazis. It would be very negligent of us not to acknowledge one of the most hateful moments in history.
Join us for a really interesting chat about an artfrom that will more than likely be around forever.
-
The History of Tattoos (part 1) is a look at an art form whose origins date back more than 5000 years.
Join us as talk about how unheard of it was in the western hemisphere, how itâs reported to have been âdiscoveredâ, how popular it became, then how âfrowned uponâ it was and then, today, how popular it is once more.
Whatever your opinion is of those who choose to get inked, thereâs no denying itâs always been there in the background and probably always will be. And itâs very, very popular.
We'll also wander into what "getting inked" might mean to a person, what it meant to both of us before we got our respective ones done & how likely it is that we'll do it again (spoiler alert: it's very likely).

In the second part of our Action Park extravaganza, we continue to look at the absolute train wreck that Action Park was. The much loved water theme park, located in Vernon, New Jersey, was an infamous amusement and water park known for its extreme and often dangerous attractions.
Opening in 1978 and operating through the mid-1990s, it gained a notorious reputation due to the high number of injuries and fatalities among its visitors.
The park featured rides that defied conventional safety standards, such as the Cannonball Loop, a waterslide with a full vertical loop, and the Alpine Slide, a concrete track that caused numerous abrasions and fractures and at least one death, despite what Action Park officials said.
Lax regulations, poorly trained staff, and an emphasis on thrill-seeking contributed to its legacy as one of the most hazardous amusement parks in history.
Despite its closure, Action Park remains a symbol of the reckless, adrenaline-fueled spirit of its era, remembered both for its exhilarating attractions and the considerable risks they posed.

Nestled in the verdant hills of Vernon, New Jersey, Action Park earned a notorious reputation as "The World's Most Dangerous Amusement Park" during its heyday from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Founded by entrepreneur Gene Mulvihill, this unique amusement park offered visitors an unparalleled level of freedom and thrills, often at the expense of safety.Action Park was renowned for its daring and often poorly engineered rides, which pushed the boundaries of conventional amusement park design. Attractions like the Cannonball Loop, a waterslide with a complete vertical loop, and the Alpine Slide, a concrete luge track notorious for causing injuries, became legendary for their inherent risks. The park's lax safety regulations and minimal oversight led to numerous accidents, resulting in countless injuries and several tragic fatalities.Action Park's infamy lives on in pop culture and the memories of those who visited and were lucky enough to not get hurt or killed. Today, while Action Park no longer exists in its original form, its spirit and stories continue to captivate and terrify new generations.

This week, we discuss the AWESOMENESS of the Samurai. And there's no discussing the Samurai without talking about the Shinobi, or as we in the western hemisphere know them - the Ninja.
Join us for a rambling chat (only the way we can do rambly) about feudal Japan, the 47 Ronin (who we all know about from the Keanu Reeves movie) & Yasuke, who was the first (and possibly only) black samurai.
And you know we're gonna mention The Simpsons at some stage! But to be fair, The Walking Dead, South Park & Austin Powers get a mention too.
Get your ears ready for a fantastic dive into an amazing culture grounded in the concept of Bushido.

Have you ever wondered why Easter is a thing?
And why now? Like, why this time of year?
Where are its origins to be found?
Turns out theyâre to be found everywhere! Literally, everywhere! They form a belief system in every facet of every culture in some way shape or form. And whatâs with the Easter bunny, but more to the point, whatâs with the Easter bunny and why eggs? Think thatâs a recent thing? Nope. Itâs been around a very long time.
Well, it turns out we have the answers to all of these questions and more. Thereâs even a Greek myth that manages to elbow its way into the conversation. We have so much to get through in this episode and, it's not an exaggeration to say, we've more fun & facts than you can shake a stick at.
Grab a cup of tea, some choclate Easter egg (a little early) and join us for a while..
