In light of Claudine gay, Harvard, college tuition, and men not going to college at all - its time to learn how to self educate.
Self education isnât just about what you know, itâs not about facts. Itâs about training yourself to think through complex situations, training yourself to discern potential outcomes, to pass on wisdom, and, maybe most importantly, to not fall for LIES.
The lies we are all capable of falling for is almost embarrassing. But not all lies are obvious, especially in an age where everyone with a voice or platform labels information as disinformation.
Another way to think about self education: the goal is not to become infallible. The goal is the ability to think, to seek what is true and humbly follow what is true. Chasing infallibility is rooted in pride and itâll cause you to become critical, to despise authority, to ridicule, to become sarcastic. None of that is a gift to others. A learned man can be a gift to others or a know it all.
So here are some principles Iâve learned over the years. And they have been learned from being an annoying know it all.

Welcome to the Institute of Men Podcast where we are figuring out what kind of men we want to be and pursuing that vision relentlessly for the rest of our lives. We derive wisdom from what is ancient, traditional, and from the greatest men in history. My name is Keaton Tucker, I want to thank you for listening.
Today, we are talking Corrupt authority and what we SHOULD NOT DO, and we talk a bit about advent.
If you are new to the podcast or you just havenât hit that subscribe button, go ahead and do that now and if you would be so kind as to leave a 5-star review - and if you want to get into heaven, leave a comment. It is guaranteed entrance into heaven if you leave a comment on your favorite listening app. Thank you for listening and supporting the institute of men.
All authority is ordained by God. That means when someone becomes an authority, God has approved of it. He gives authority to men.
Bad authority doesnât give you permission to revolt or rebel (unless itâs sinful, but even then resistance is silent)
Everyone who despises authority tends to desire authority. Rebels always claim infallibility. All rebels always claim, âif only I were in charge then everything would be good.â
Rebels, stir up false hope. They rally people to their cause they create division. They get everybody thinking on the same page, but they have no authority to make any change happen. Itâs false hope. Division causes anger, resentment, bitterness of soul separation between close friends immunity strife. These are works of the flesh see Galatians five.
False hope is fragile. It seems like itâs under constant threat your enemy quickly becomes your neighbor or the person on Twitter. They are a threat to your false hope.
Every rebel who hears this only hears me saying, âbe passive and allow things to happenâ. Rebels always equate respect for authority as passivity because they canât imagine doing good themselves where they are. They can only stir up anger and strife, itâs the only way they get recognized.
Paul never spoke evil against the authorities that God put in place, even the ones who were against him and his ministry.

The best way to learn to pray is by using other peopleâs words. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, he gave them words to repeat. This is the first way we learn how to pray. In these podcasts, I will read a psalm and then pray the Psalm using my own words so you can learn to pray.
Every man should learn to pray. I hope this helps and blesses you.

On this Episode we talk about Athanasius, the Arian Heresy, the Nicene Creed, and how one man's fervency may have saved Christianity. The Arian heresy denied that Jesus was co-eternal with the Father; that he was a created being. This split the church, caused violence, confusion, division. Athanasius was a Bishop who fought for the doctrine of the trinity and reunified the Church through his efforts. He is a man worthy of imitation.
