  • Hey homegirls, itā€™s me (if you remember me).

Itā€™s been a while, and I just want to thank everyone for sticking with me. Lifeā€™s been a bit all over the place, and keeping up with the podcast hasnā€™t been easy. But Iā€™m back and ready to fill you in!

Lately, Iā€™ve been thinking a lot about my job and the drive I've had for it ā€“ especially with goals like saving for a house (gotta love adulting).

The real issue though, is that I realised Iā€™ve been putting my job before everything ā€“ even God...Itā€™s SO easy to let work take over and turn it into an idol, especially with how society pushes that idea. But Iā€™m working on it.

Hereā€™s what I talk about in this episode:

How Iā€™m learning to balance ambition with my faithRealising my job isnā€™t my real purposeMy boyfriend influence on how Iā€™m thinking about my deeper callingLetting go of control and letting God lead

Itā€™s just me being honest about where Iā€™m at and how Godā€™s challenging me to rethink things.

I pray this episode gets you thinking about the idols you might not even realise you've made in your heart... KNOWING that God is greater

  • some would say church has no use for them - and i was one of them. being raised in church can either make you a lover of church or a hater of it. and maybe hate was a strong word but i definitely had strong feelings about it. even as a christian those feelings didn't immediately go away but in this episode i delve into my feelings and how i challenged myself to get out of my comfort zone and find a church community where i truly feel at home.

  • controversial title i know. but He does.

i recently bought a new macbook air... scary. i didn't want to spend that level of money, i was tight fisted, holding on to my money. but then i realised: it's not my money. it's God's.

i'm a frugal person and my first thoughts when spending money on anything are:

is it necessary?does it harm my saving plans?(and the worst one) do i deserve it?

but if i truly sat and got in my word I would discover one thing: God is a God of abundance and He delights in blessing His WORTHY children.

but i thought i was a sinner not worthy of anything? if you look at yourself in the lens of the enemy, you will see that, but if you look at yourself in the lens of Christ, you'll see the opposite. it's time to reframe your mind and let God show you how valuable you are and how much you deserve things that bring you value.

  • busyness: probably one of the hardest things to navigate as an adult... especially as an adult in the 21st century. not only are we busy navigating our day-to-day lives, but we're also being drained by the busyness of dreaming and planning. but what does God think? does He care? how does He want us to manage our time?

  • girl. i have been gone for TOO long. God has been convicting me on a lot and i promise this episode will explain. but also, happy new year! today i'm talking all about why we must commit our plans to God for this year to be truly prosperous ā€” surrendering our ideas and leaning on God's eternal plan.

  • ā€œyou are what you listen toā€ is a phrase my mum would drill into me as a child.

did it truly understand what it meant? no.

do i understand it now as i reflect on the things i consumed and how they impacted me, both mentally & spiritually? yes.

but itā€™s a road that i donā€™t ever think iā€™ll get to the end of. we have to convict ourselves constantly about our mental diet and whether itā€™s glorifying to God.

in this episode, we delve into what things we need to be mindful of, such as TV, social media, influencers, politics, and music, as well as the things i personally have been convicted on.

  • every single one of us struggles with words. whether that's:

words of negativitywords of gossipwords of vulgaritywords of insults

we all come out with things that do not reflect God. but the strange thing is, do we take as much note of them as we would our outward sins?

the Bible tells us "the tongue is a world of unrighteousness" with the capability of causing mass destruction. do we ever think about how that destruction is not just outward but inward too?

continuing in the 'guard your heart' series, i delve into how words not only come from the heart but can further poison it and take us away from a relationship with God.

  • we've all been there. a guy has swept us off our feet and we're on cloud 9... until we're not. how many times will we let relationships be an idol in our hearts until we realise that what we were searching for was never in a relationship in the first place, but in God?

in this episode, i dive into why guarding our hearts is so vital in the concept of dating, standards, and sex. buckle your seatbelts.

  • "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." a scripture we've all heard, but is it something we prioritise? short answer: no. most people believe that their hearts are good and trustworthy, hence the 'follow your heart' phrase. but in this episode, i explore why our hearts are truly "deceitful above all things" and why it's important to know that. this is the first episode of my new series: guard your heart.

  • fun and God is like oil and water to a lot of people. it doesn't mix, even if you wanted it to. but what if i told you that God created fun but you just got the wrong idea of it? in this episode i get real about the ways i used to define fun (namely through partying & drinking), how i became convicted, and how i'm learning what fun is in a godly context.

and spoiler: this is not a false, flowery version of fun, i legit have a lot of fun... MORE fun than before.

  • welcome to the first EVER episode of the less of me podcast. here i explain everything. where i've been, why the new podcast, the reason behind the name and what i wish to achieve.

becoming a Christian at 18 was an experience i'd never take back, but Christian or not, being 18 you're automatically stupid.

i made a lot of mistakes in my early Christian days and had an undeveloped, selfish understanding of God where i made everything about me. God was a genie who, although i loved, i didn't love Him enough to surrender my plans to.

this podcast sets the tone of where i am at (well, where i am trying to be) and how i got to this place, whilst giving you scriptural advice on how you can do the same.
