  • How are you feeling about your work world right now? 2020 has been a year for the history books for a number of reasons, and has presented us all with a whole myriad of challenges. In amongst those is navigating new work-life waters. Did you make a career pivot this year? Is your employer instigating a hiring freeze? Have you experienced an ‘aha!’ moment? In today’s episode we are sharing our own career journeys and lifting the lid on our same-but-different career paths with blogging. Ella shares why she’s pivoted away from blogging and into a new career altogether, and Monica opens up about the multiple hats she wears outside of the blogging world.

In today’s episode we also play “what to do if . . .” with career scenarios, including what to do if you have been made redundant/graduated in 2020/want to pursue a side hustle.

We hope that today’s episode can help you to find clarity, or at least comradeship, in your own career journey. As always we would love to hear your thoughts so please do drop us a line, or send us a DM.

    AUDIO NOTE

Due to COVID-19 we have recorded Season 10 of Let’s Discuss Podcast remotely. This has allowed us the opportunity to connect with you all (yay!) via your earbuds, but unfortunately some of the audio isn’t as on point as we’d like it to be. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy the show nonetheless.

  • Welcome back to a brand new season of Let’s Discuss podcast! We are so happy to be entering double digits here with you, kick starting Season 10.

Today’s episode is a ‘COVID-19 catch-up’. Things have changed dramatically in the world since Season 9 of the show, when we were on the cusp of our first lockdown here in the UK.

Since then, the term “corona-coaster” has been banded about with good reason. It has been a year of many ups and downs, and today we’re sharing what’s kept us going during this ‘unprecedented’ time.

We hope you’ll enjoy this week’s episode, and let us know how you get on playing Pandemic Bingo with us!

  • When someone brings up the topic of people pleasing, do you immediately think “yep, that describes me!”? To an extent we all ‘people please’ from time to time, be it saying “yes” to something which benefits someone else, and not us, or consistently agreeing to a commitment which really isn’t in our best interest.

People pleasing isn’t synonymous with doing something wrong, but when your needs are knocked to the bottom of the pile time and time again, your tendency to say “yes” all the time may need to be revisited.

In today’s episode of Let’s Discuss podcast we address the issue of people pleasing, how it crops up in our own lives, and how we try to safeguard ourselves from people pleasing tendencies which have a negative impact.

  • We are so excited to welcome Monica’s Mama Eliana to the show today, to talk all things cleaning and household upkeep.

Anyone who knows Eliana knows that amongst her many talents, she is somewhat of a superhero when it comes to keeping a house tidy, clean and organised.

For fourteen years Eliana owned and ran a guesthouse in Southampton, and (as Monica knows first-hand) it was somewhat of a military operation cleanliness-wise.

Over the years Eliana has come to be the go-to authority for her immediate circle (and her circle’s circle!) for all things housekeeping.

Mama Eliana is truly a fountain of household knowledge, and we are over the moon to welcome her to the show today to talk us through all things household upkeep, cleaning hacks and more.

  • Astrology has been a keen interest of Ella’s forever, and via Ella (and other eager friends) Monica has upgraded her interest in astrology from Girl Talk horoscopes (remember those?!), to a more in-depth analysis too.

We are so happy to welcome renowned astrologer Francesca Oddie to the show today!

Francesca chats to us about what your birth chart can reveal about your innate nature, why learning about your partner’s chart can be helpful when it comes to compatibility, and just what Mercury retrograde and Saturn’s return really mean.

If you’ve ever been curious about astrology, and how it can lend you a guiding hand, we hope that this episode will be an enlightening one for you.

  • Welcome back to Let’s Discuss Podcast! We're so happy to be back here with you for Season 9 of the show.

    We’re now simply “navigating life”!

Entering a new age decade has made us both reflect on the life lessons we’ve learnt up until now.

So much so, that we thought it would be fun to put these lessons into a comprehensive list to share with you!

    Cue: 30 Lessons We’ve Learnt by 30.

We hope that these lessons, mantras and mini life hacks will resonate with you too.

  • Welcome to a special bonus episode of Let’s Discuss!

Whilst we were preparing for the launch of Season 9 on April 7th this year, the shape-shifting times that we’re living in as we navigate COVID-19, prompted us to record this bonus episode for you.

Right now things are changing by the moment, and there is a huge array of emotions being felt. Amongst them: uncertainty, fear, hope, gratitude and a general sense of limbo.

Whilst we navigate these unchartered waters personally, we wanted to check in with you. To see how you’re doing.

And to talk through some of the things we’re doing to try and stay on top of our own wellbeing (mentally and physically) and productivity during this season.

We started Let’s Discuss Podcast as a way to open up the conversations we were having as friends, with you. And now, more so than ever, that sense of sharing and support is at the forefront of our minds.

We want you to feel as supported as possible right now, and like you can talk to us about how you’re getting on. Which you absolutely can! If you’d like to reach out we’re over on Instagram at @LetsDiscussPodcast, and individually you can find us on @MonicaBeatrice and @CocosTeaParty.

We hope that this bonus episode will offer some comfort to you right now.

  • There are so many milestones throughout our twenties, which we are conditioned to think that we ‘need’ to hit. Degrees, moving out of home, partners, engagement, marriage, babies, promotions . . . it’s a LOT!

It’s normal to feel pangs of jealousy as your friends, or people you know (or even people you don’t know!) achieve certain things.

Whatever the circumstances, jealousy is not a nice feeling, and today we are exploring how we can navigate feelings of envy. And how can we reframe our jealousy in a more positive way?

As always, feel free to leave us a comment on our Instagram account and share your experience with us! We’d love to hear from you.
