He’s an Associate Professor in the Division of Pain Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is passionate about teaching and holds an adjunct faculty position at a local medical school. Dr. Musa is also active in the advancement of medicine through research. Dr. Adetoun Musa’s has specialized training and extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy with a special interest in dietary therapy and integrative medicine. She is the co-owner of the Kingdom Healing Institute. She obtained her Bacheler’s of Arts in Neuroscience and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. She then went on to complete her internship in Internal Medicine at Rush University in 2010 and then complete her Neurology Residency at Yale in 2013. She then completed subspecialty training in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology at Hofstra School of Medicine/Northwell and has extensive training and experience in routine and continuous video-electroencephalography interpretation. At the University of Chicago, he researched the Innate Immune response to Hepatitis C Virus and has given several poster presentations on that subject matter. He graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 2011. Dr. Musa completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital and pursued a career in Pain medicine.   • Prasad Shirvalkar, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Neurological Surgery and Neurology at University of California, San Francisco. As a neurologist and pain management specialist, he studies basic brain and spinal mechanisms of pain using invasive neurophysiology and electrical stimulation. The primary goal of his laboratory is to clarify how distributed circuits across the brain process the physical, emotional and cognitive elements of real-world chronic pain. Having discovered the first-in-human objective biomarkers for chronic pain with brain recordings, his lab is actively developing new therapies for chronic pain using personalized, adaptive brain stimulation.

  • Dr. Randy S. D’Amico is an assistant professor of neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. The Brooklyn native completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and his medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Rutgers Medical School, where he was nominated into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. His graduate and postdoctoral work was done at Columbia University’s Neurological Institute of New York and within the Herbert Irving Cancer Research Center at Columbia University, where his research interests focused on neuro-oncology and the study of brain and spine tumors.

    Dr. D’Amico was awarded a prestigious Doris Duke research fellowship in pursuit of these academic interests. Dr. D’Amico completed his comprehensive neurosurgical training at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center, where he honed his skills in complex brain and spine surgery. Before completing his training, he served as chief resident for the department. He is a member of numerous prestigious organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the Young Neurosurgeon Committee (YNC). He is also an associate editorial board member for the Journal of Neuro-Oncology (JNO) and the host of the international webinar “Tumor Talk,” sponsored by the AANS/CNS Joint Tumor Section, where he discusses new research in brain and spine tumors.

    He has published numerous clinical and translational research papers on topics such as gliomas, skull base neurosurgery, intraoperative surgical adjuncts, clinical outcomes of rare diseases, and has developed a passion for studying mechanisms of drug delivery for treating brain tumors. Dr. D’Amico currently works closely with David Langer, MD, and John Boockvar, MD, in the Department of Neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he focuses on the treatment of brain and spine tumors using novel intraoperative technologies to optimize patient outcomes. He is the director of the Northwell Health Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis at Lenox Hill Hospital, and he is currently accepting new patients.

  • Dr. Razzak is a palliative care physician and internist at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UH CMC). He serves as Clinical Director for the Section of Palliative Care and Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at UH CMC and is also a Clinical Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University. He is also an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.

    Dr. Gobin would like to highlight that even a sesame seed can cause an allergic reaction and should be taken seriously. She wanted to point out that the trace amount that may have been seen previously is different than purposefully adding it. The interior portion of a seed contains the highly allergenic protein. The intentional grinding up of sesame into flour is what is being seen recently and extremely concerning.
