Welcome back!!!
In this episode we discuss the New Jersey Upline. For those of you who do not know what this it is a way for a diver to establish a permanent ascent line back to the surface.
Why you ask? Well diving in the Midatlantic and Northeast regions of the United States the boats anchor to the wrecks and a diver or dive team go down with a rope and secure the anchor to the wreck to prevent accidentally coming free.
If a diver gets lost and cannot find their way back to the anchor they use the NJ upline to establish a permanent line to the surface and use it for ascent. Since the boat is secured to the dive site and/or might be diving in area with vessel traffic we cannot do drifting ascent/deco.
If you are interested in purchasing any equipment shown in the videos please feel free to contact us at: [email protected]
The reels I showed in this video our as follows:
Light Monkey 400' Primary: Holds 250' of #36 line (aka wreck line) and I use this for navigation and to send small artifacts to the surface. (http://www.lightmonkey.us/400-primary)
Light Monkey 800' Primary: Holds 250' of Type III mil spec paracord. This is used as an emergency upline only and has a 6', 75lb SMB attached to the handle. This reel typically used to a max depth of 250'. (http://www.lightmonkey.us/800-primary)
Light Monkey 1200' Primary: This reel holds 370' of Type III mil spec paracord and is used to about 330'. (http://www.lightmonkey.us/1200-primary) -

Welcome to the 1st Episode of Narc'ed TV. This is a brief video giving you some background and insight on Narc'ed Diving and myself.
The plan is to create videos with useful tricks and tips for all types of diving. This is information gathered over the years and I find myself having these conversations with small groups so I figured why not share.
We are also open to suggestions so feel free to leave those in the comment section.
Also check us out on Instagram @narceddiving and Facebook. Links are in the about section of this page. -
