New shiny things, innovation and a large dose of thinking outside of the norm are what will captivate and inspire just about any keen angler! On todays episode of On the Cast, Dyl and Mitch sit down with Western Australia's own Callum Dowell. Callum is a well known legend within the Bream circuit and has caught just a few Breams over his time. Situated on WA's pristine South cost, he has had access to some insane estuaries full of giants and it's on these estuaries where he has been developing the next lure to take the Aussie estuary scene to that next level.
The Mussell vibe or ''Muss'' is a sinking resin bait cast in the shape of your every day mussel, one of the top food sources for many estuary species, especially Black and Yellowfin Bream. Callum runs down what brought this lure about, its journey, issues during the design, where its at now and future plans! he also has a massive dive into his tournament fishing and some differences between WA and the east coast's Bream fisheries.
If you would like to purchase some Muss for yourself or get in contact with Callum he can be found at;

This week’s episode of On the Cast takes us to a new state we are yet to cover, Western Australia! WA has a plethora of fishing opportunities from its rugged Southern coastline, right up to the tropical North in the Kimberly. Gideon Mettam, or Giddo as he is best known is let's just say a ‘’keen’’ land based rock fisho...Gido spends most of his time outdoors rock fishing and rock climbing and has become very well known for combining the two extreme sports together! His youtube channel has exploded over the last year due to his fantastic footage and unique style of angling.
Dyl and Mitch sit down to have a great discussion about all things rock fishing for some of the amazing species such as Snapper, Western Blue Grouper, Sampson Fish and of course the endemic West Australian Dhufish. Gido runs through his tactics, lure choices and of course gives the low down on what gear he climbs into his destinations with. The man is no stranger to some sketchy locations and loves nothing more than finding an untouched ledge. Failing that, Giddo has been known to literally bring the ledge with him and create his ideal platform on the sheer rock faces of WA’s Southern coastline!
If this style of crazy angling sounds even the slightest bit interesting, then we strongly suggest you spin this episode immediately after reading this!
Don't forget to subscribe and spread the On the Cast love to a mate or three!

We are back after another typical short hiatus. This episode focuses on our pursuit for the extremely elusive 50cm Bream. In the first instalment, we head to Tasmania. The land of 'monster bream' and rugged landscapes. The landscape was definitely that... the bream... well you are just going to have to listen in. We talk about our pre trip expectations and how the trip went down, favourite lures and what we learnt. This trip was 100%... interesting to say the least.
-
We are back again, and talking summer bream for both the Black and Yellow varieties with the ever helpful Byron Tea Hill. Is it to much in the way of Bream.... probably.... but we have to wait for Autumn or the end of our trip to Tassie for the next one. Anyway, sit back relax and get your ear holes around this masterpiece and learn how we approach summer bream, what we use and what we are excited to use for the coming seasons ahead, while we also talk sponos (not for us) and of course youtube.
