  • What do you do when your child shows you conditional love as a way of pushing back against parental authority? How do you raise up a child in the Lord who is rebelling every step of the way?

In the fourth part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss fatherhood and showing your children unconditional love. Tim explains something that he believes to be a key to child-rearing: Unconditional acceptance but not unconditional approval.

“If you try to control your children, you're going to disable the kid or chase them away. We need to recognize the reality that God gave our children the power to make their own choices. Do your best to train them on how to make good choices. Then they have a chance to do well, but they might not. That's their choice, not yours.” - Tim Dunn

Tim Dunn is the co-founder and CEO of CrownQuest Operating. He is also the author of Yellow Balloons: Power for Living Life Above the Circumstances. In addition to his writing and business accolades, Tim co-founded Midland Classical Academy in 1998, a non-profit, K-12 learning institution.

  • If we all decided to give all of our money away at the same time, what would happen?

It would be a game of hot potato: one man giving his money away to another who would give it away to the next, and on and on. We are not called necessarily to give away all of our money, we are called to steward it! How are you stewarding yours?

In the third part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss how God has called us to be shrewd stewards and great investors of the gifts we have been given.

“I think the way to handle money is to always deed it over to Christ. So everyone should give away all their money, but that doesn't mean you stop stewarding the money.” - Tim Dunn“You have to decide how to steward your money. You don't have to worry about losing the money, it wasn't yours in the first place. So don't have anxiety about it, but I do think in terms of, ‘OK, what is my best stewardship of this?’” - Tim Dunn

  • What exactly defines success? Your income? The size of your home? The value of your 401k? While all of these things may be a side effect of living a successful life, they do not define it.

In the second part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss work ethic, mindset, and mentality and how they relate to and determine success.

“The main thing a great leader does in any organization is they focus on building structures. Structure determines behavior and is anything that is a series of obstacles that creates a path of least resistance. Make a plan and hold it with open hands. Say ‘if the Lord wills, I am going to do this
’” - Tim Dunn“And people tend to say, you're successful because you have a certain amount of worth, value, or income, but all that can be gone tomorrow
Success is really taking the right approach to life.” - Tim Dunn

  • When we are “saved”, what are we being delivered from and what are we being delivered to? This is one of the many topics discussed by Ken Harrison with his guest Tim Dunn.

In this episode, Tim and Ken discuss the assurance of our salvation that we have through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the life we are called to lead as believers.

“God says you can learn one or two ways: ‘You can trust me that I know what's best for you or you or you can experience it for yourself.’ Well, if you experience it for yourself, you can get a lot of mess and dirt.” - Tim Dunn“We either learn obedience to death on the cross like Jesus did and get that same reward with him. Or we cannot, and we lose that reward. So we're constantly being delivered.” - Tim Dunn

The grace of God is igniting inside of them to give them that confidence, no matter what their peers are thinking, no matter what their bosses are thinking, no matter what mainstream society is trying to tell them. And we need that today.” - Demario Davis“I really started to examine my life a little bit and realize that my life wasn't going a direction I wanted it to go and something needed to change
I came to Christ and the scales were removed from my eyes

  • “Excellence isn’t a destination - it’s an identity” with Chad Hennings

This week, Ken’s guest is Chad Hennings - 3-time Super Bowl champion, former fighter pilot, author, entrepreneur, men’s ministry leader — and most importantly husband to Tammy and father to Chase and Brenna.

Together, Ken and Chad discuss the toll of feeling powerless as a father who is unable to heal their child’s sickness, transcending our nation’s turmoil and division through Christ, and the importance of bending our knees to God’s will to find our mission and purpose in life.

Chad Hennings is a three-time Super Bowl champion and Air Force veteran. As an accomplished lineman in high school, Hennings was offered full scholarships from universities across the nation. Instead, he chose to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he earned numerous honors. Hennings’ exemplary achievements earned him a role on the Dallas Cowboys’ roster, but Hennings postponed his entry into the National Football League to fulfill his commitment to the U.S. Air Force. He entered the Euro-NATO program, a training program for top pilots, and soon found himself at the controls of the A-10 Thunderbolt.

During his four-year stint with the Air Force, Hennings flew 45 missions in support of Operation Provide Comfort in northern Iraq, an effort that helped provide relief and humanitarian aid to Kurdish refugees. He received two aerial achievement medals, a humanitarian award and an outstanding unit award for his actions in the service. After his discharge, Hennings joined the Dallas Cowboys, quickly earning a starting position as a defensive lineman. He spent his entire 9-year professional football career with the Cowboys, retiring in 2001 with three Super Bowl rings.

Since his retirement from the NFL, Hennings has found success as a commercial real estate professional, author and motivational speaker. He established Wingmen Ministries, a Christian men’s ministry that concentrates on discipleship. Additionally, Hennings serves on the Promise Keepers Board of Directors.

  • Twin brothers, David and Jason Benham, are former professional baseball players, nationally acclaimed entrepreneurs, and best selling authors. Their rise to success earned them a reality show with HGTV that was set to air in the fall of 2014 — yet the show was abruptly canceled because of their commitment to Biblical values.

Listen in as they discuss: faith in the workplace, leading your family, and the impact of Godly men who genuinely live their faith in all areas of life.

“Our dad would always say, if your theology is not your biography, then your theology is worthless. In other words, you can talk and pray all things God, but if it doesn't translate into the way that you live, act, and conduct yourself, whether it's in the marketplace, behind a pulpit or wherever you are, then your theology is worthless.”

  • This is the second episode in a two-part series.

With the “end of times” laid out in Revelation, it is tempting to speculate on if Jesus is coming back in our lifetime. Gene Getz shares his insight on when the Lord might be returning and how we should live in the meantime.

Gene Getz, author of The Measure of a Man, is director for the Center for Church Renewal and is pastor of Fellowship Bible Church, Plano, Texas. He is also an adjunct professor in pastoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

In the second part of this two-part episode, Ken and Gene discuss spiritual gifts and salvation assurance “by grace through faith”.

“If we understand grace, if we really understand it, it teaches us to live a godly life. In other words, how can we live a sinful life when God has given everything through his Son, Jesus?” - Gene Getz“We need to teach the Second Coming. We need to realize he could come at any moment. I don't think there's any reason he couldn't come at any moment and remove us from this earth and come back to this Earth after the rest of Revelation is fulfilled. But the important thing is: am I living in view of the fact that Jesus could come? We need to be ready.” - Gene Getz

Gene Getz, author of The Measure of a Man, is director for the Center for Church Renewal and is pastor of Fellowship Bible Church, Plano, Texas. He is also an adjunct professor in pastoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

In this episode, Gene and Ken talk about Gene’s bout with COVID-19 and how in the midst of hardship and depression, it is important to seek out and recognize God’s faithfulness. Ken and Gene also discuss The Measure of a Man turning 50 and how it has impacted lives all over the globe for the last half-century.

“We can be thankful in all things that God hasn't forsaken us
I'm not sure I'm in a position to say, ‘Lord, I just thank you for giving me this horrible COVID experience.’ But I'm thankful that he hasn't forsaken me. He's given me a new appreciation of my family. A new appreciation of prayer, a new appreciation of humility.” - Gene Getz“Anywhere in the world that you go – the heart of Africa, to the heart of India, to the heart of China, the qualities [in The Measure of a Man] are a reflection of Jesus Christ. And that's why it's never gone out of print, because those qualities are super cultural.” - Gene Getz

  • Science tells us that gender boils down to X and Y chromosomes, but scientists and psychologists tell us that gender is a choice. How do we reconcile these obvious contradictions? When “facts” are twisted and sold as subjective, Christians must fight for objective truth.

Dr. Jeff Myers is president of Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, CO. Dr. Myers’ many books and video courses on the Christian worldview and social issues include “Secrets of Great Communicators,” “Secrets of the World-Changers,” “Secrets of Everyday Leaders,” “Grow Together,” “Cultivate,” “The Summit Worldview Library,” “The Secret Battle of the Ideas About God,” and “Unquestioned Answers.”

In this episode, Dr. Myers explains how Biblical truth applies to today’s discussion of gender identity and gender dysphoria.

“The battle of our day is not between Republicans and Democrats, or conservatives and liberals, or red states and blue states, or even the religious and the non-religious. The battle of our day is over whether we can know truth
and the biblical understanding is the truth does exist and it can be expressed mathematically.” - Jeff Myers“Anything that we place our identity in other than Christ will lead us to confusion and purposeless.” - Jeff Myers“Do I have a gender identity? I do. Do I have a racial identity? I do. Do I have an economic identity? I do. Do I have a vocational identity? I do. But if I take any one of those things and I allow it to be the primary organizing principle of my life other than Christ, then I will be misled.” - Jeff Myers

  • This is the second episode in a two-part series.

As a father, how do you stand at the helm of your ship and guide and direct your crew—your family—in love? Are you, the captain, respected and trusted as a leader? Dr. Meg Meeker shares suggestions for parenting children through gender dysphoria, away from the lies of our culture, and towards Jesus Christ.

Dr. Meg Meeker is a pediatrician with more than 30 years of experience, mother of four, and grandmother of six. She has authored 7 books including “Strong Father, Strong Daughter” and “Boys Will Be Boys: 7 Secrets to Raising Healthy Sons,” and has spoken globally about raising up the next generation.

In the second part of this two-part episode, Ken and Meg discuss the importance of strong fathers and their role within the family.

"There are a lot of kids who want to be accepted. They don't want to be guilty. And if you're guilty because you're a white male, the best way to not be guilty is to be gay or transgender because then nobody can attack you anymore. So, we have to, as parents, realize that...[and not] overreact. Let's have patience, and time will probably heal most of these [situations], as we've seen through science." - Dr. Meg Meeker"If you think about people who are successful at anything, relationships, their work, their friendships. These are people who know failure really well, and they've had to stand back up again and go at it again." - Dr. Meg Meeker“This generation of kids, they want to know why
They want to know why they should believe in Christ, why they should believe in God. They want the why’s. And so if you tell them the why’s and then you show them the best way to go, their instincts are going to tell them to go there.” - Dr. Meg Meeker

  • How do you move forward if you feel like you have already failed as a father? How would you respond to a child questioning their gender identity? These are some of the hard questions asked and answered in this part one episode with Dr. Meg Meeker.

Dr. Meg Meeker is a pediatrician with more than 30 years of experience, mother of four, and grandmother of six. She has authored 7 books including “Strong Father, Strong Daughter” and has spoken globally about raising up the next generation.

In the first part of this two-part episode, Ken and Meg discuss the important role fathers play in raising up their sons and daughters in a godly way. Dr. Meeker shares how to navigate raising a child in a culture where “gender identity” is viewed as negotiable and what to do if the topic of “transitioning” arises with your child.

“You're accountable to God. So what you need to do from a biblical perspective is look at that child and say to them, you know, God created you perfectly because God doesn't make mistakes.” - Dr. Meg Meeker“I believe that if fathers could see who they are through their kid's eyes and in particular the eyes of their daughters, their lives would never be the same because dads are larger than life in their kids' eyes. They are heroes! Girls want protection, even when they're 18 and 19. Their dads are the love of their lives. ” - Dr. Meg Meeker

And what was going on and how we can turn this pain into a purpose. And then I got to do my part and get to work and see what can come from it.” - Chris Norton“No matter what you go through in life, if you keep going, if you keep praying and keep believing, know that good things can come. “I think there's a reason why one of the first things Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount is ‘Blessed are those who mourn.’ I really do. I think that we all have to get to the point of mourning our inadequacy and who we are. Then that can lead us to the beautiful grace and love of Jesus.” - Ken Harrison “The moment I get at all distracted and start caring about what comments I'm going to see on YouTube—I think the show is dead.
