One of the insights that changed the way I think of health was finding out yeast candida was the reason I would feel gassy, bloated, and constipated...
What made this so impactful was realizing that the first time I'd seen the word yeast candida was in beer brewing book.
This yeast strain was the same yeast strain that would spoil a batch of beer.
When I understood that piece, gut health made sense in a way that I can't even begin to describe... the probiotics and bad bacteria we find in brewing are the same we find in our gut. They respond to the same environmental factors.
This is when I started asking myself, "what do I do if I get a bad yeast strain when brewing and it spoils my batch of beer?"
The answer is that I have to dump out the bad batch so that I could clean and sanitize my brewing equipment...
That's when fasting made the most sense as a tool that I could use to empty out my body vessel so that I could clean and sanitize it...

There was a point in my life when I simply could not figure out how to burn fat...
I wanted to get lean & toned so that I could take off my shirt in public and feel confident...
I didn't like the way I looked... nothing seemed to work and I was highly skeptical of anything out there that promised me it would help...
When it came to health, I was dependent on doctors to tell me what was wrong with me and how I could fix myself...

In this episode we discuss changes to our diet that helped us recover from hiking the Manitou Incline stairs. This hike is a very intense hike where you gain over 2,000 ft elevation in just 0.88 of a mile at 45% grade at the steeper areas.
