Grief can be overwhelming. It hits us all, whether we are 8 or 88. In this episode, we will meet Lisa Robinson, the grief counsellor who helped our family at our lowest and most vulnerable time. She will guide us through techniques and coping mechanisms that can help us as we grieve. We will also be serenaded by the dynamic sister duo of Abby and Sarah. Beverly and I will read our newly published, The Puddle Jumper, a children’s book to help navigate the confusing feelings of grief and loss.

Our first guest is the phenomenal Audrey Guth, founder of the Nanny Angel Network, the only organization in North America providing ‘Nanny Angels’ to children ages 12 and under whose moms have cancer or are in palliative care. Next, you will meet the dynamic mother/daughter team of Nicolle Georgiev and Sophia Megan, Founders of the Super Sophia Project. To date, The Super Sophia Project has gifted over 30,000 Love Boxes to children in hospitals across the GTA, Durham, and areas north of Toronto. Our first episode of this season, Emphasizing Empowerment, features trailblazer Leanne Matlow who will speak about her upcoming Mental Health Empowerment Day helping parents and teachers adopt a practical and accessible mental health tool kit. Leanne is cognitive behavioural therapy counsellor with a private practice specializing in anxiety for children and adolescents. We will also learn from Dido Balla, founder of a non-profit organization called FitLit, whose mission is to use a blended curriculum of fitness and literacy to empower youth. Dido is currently the Head of Education for the Goldie Hawn Foundation, where his focus is to maximize the impact of MindUP in schools, communities, and families.
