Sweeper! - Steve Bruce (Chapter 5)
Chapter 5 picks up with some dynamite prose from Bruce. A masterclass in semantic efficiency. And then goes swiftly and consistently downhill from there...
We meet Steve's short-term sidekick in landlord Malik, and there's some revelations about the dynamic of Steve's marriage. We'd call this chapter 'joining tissue' - and we'd also love to know which famous crime writer would do the best job at rewriting or punching up the Bruce / Barnes trilogy?... answers on a postcard below...
Thanks
Chris, Josh and Michael

Sweeper! - Steve Bruce (Chapter 4)
Chapter 4 is here and it's a classic. Steve goes on the search for more info about the mysterious Sam and finds himself in a rougher part of Leddersford where there's something in the air....and it might just be the sound of tripe...

Sweeper! - Steve Bruce (Chapter 3)
We're back in Leddersford and it's a trip to the morgue for Steve Barnes to try and get to the bottom of Old Sam's increasingly mysterious demise. There's a memorable cameo for some new but fleeting characters in this chapter (let us know who you imagined playing them in the film / TV spin off below) and elsewhere in the postbag we solve a mystery of our own when it comes to Steve's son Alex appearing in photos of the England team in that infamous trip abroad before Euro 96...
Thanks
Chris, Josh and Michael

Sweeper! - Steve Bruce (Chapter 2)
It's cliff-hanger central over at Leddersford Town as Steve Barnes juggles the duel tasks of implementing a sweeper system for the run of games coming up in their promotion push, whilst also finding out yet another bombshell about the demise of Leddersford caretaker 'Old Sam'.
Enjoy!
Thanks - Chris, Josh and Michael.

For this episode, we are joined by one of the 90s and 00s most entertaining and longest serving chairman…BRING YA DINNER… it’s Barry Hearn!
The former Leyton Orient owner talks Club For A Fiver (…or £2.43), needing ‘therapy’ after one too many play-off final defeats and how he managed to take a 35-man squad to Las Vegas for just £5,000.
But more than anything, it’s life lessons from one of the world’s greatest promoters!

This Month in the 90's - December 1999
In this episode we look back at the last month of this glorious decade - December 1999.
Leeds United top the table. Travis and 'The Man Who...' dominate the charts. Ginola gets goal of the month. And crucially, we speculate on whether Chelsea FC was a secret sanctuary for diminutive players...
Thanks
Chris, Josh, and Michael.

Yes, you read it right. Somehow Chris has managed to convince us to watch and then talk about the WWF event 'Summerslam 92' (and the spectacle of wrestling in general) and it's safe to say we don't always share his enthusiasm.
On top of that we've got some more great 90's football correspondence including an update on the Hereford Bull, and a Quantum leap style discussion about what would happen when one result from history has changed and the impact it would then have had on Big Sam Allardyce... "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!"
Thanks,
Chris, Josh and Michael

QKWHS - Born To Save: The Peter Shilton Story
In this episode we watch and dissect a documentary about one of the key figures in the QK universe, Mr Peter Shilton.
Includes one of the most boring pieces of archive footage since Paul Stewart told his infamous anecdote, and a deep dive into the origins and variations of Shilton's hair.
It's a fascinating insight into a man who made his debut professional BEFORE the 1966 World Cup Final and was still failing to dive for penalties as late as 1997!!!! Were we wrong about his legacy? Yes. And also, no...
Thanks,
Chris, Josh and Michael

Chapter 13: Striker! by Steve Bruce
The boys are once again joined by QK legend Ivo Graham to forensically examine Steve Bruce's 'Striker' in the chapter by chapter deep dive format. This month - Chapter 13
It's the final countdown. The match against Fulton is finally here. The killer is still on the loose. Leddersford don't have a recognised striker. As Bruce / Barnes ties things up in the messiest of literary bows the plot moves at a terrifying pace (and at times an illogical one) in this final chapter of the literary masterpiece. Thanks for joining us on this journey - we've loved every minute and can't wait to start book two in 2022. Until then...

The boys are once again joined by QK legend Ivo Graham to forensically examine Steve Bruce's literary classic 'Striker' in a new chapter by chapter format.
This month - Chapter 7
A strangely competent piece of writing from Bruce in this chapter as he forgoes his usual stagey and stilted dialogue for a tightly wound and tense action set piece out on the motorways and moors of the Leddersford area. If you like your action laced heavily with existential musings and creaking football analogies you've come the right place...
Enjoy.
