    And other great songs like Abba's "Dancing Queen" (26:55); Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville" (28:21); and Gloria Gaynor's all time Anthem, "I Will Survive" (35:00);

    Then the Guys close the show with a discussion about You Tube Video "Reactions" from some streamers discussing Songs that they heard for the first time and reacting to them and we wrap it up with our top "Honorable Mentions" Make out Songs ending Part 1.

    On this episode, Tom and Bert discuss their TOP 10 of the Greatest Make Out Songs of the decades (1950's-1960's) also with a sampling of the songs.

    From "Our Day will Come" by Ruby and the Romantics (1:05); to "Cupid" by Sam Cooke (2:55); "Since I fell for You" by Lenny Welch (3:30);

    To "Hey Girl" by Freddie Scott (6:52); then "Under The Boardwalk" by the Drifters (7:20); they keep things rolling.

    Then some "classics" like "Louie, Louie" by the Kingsmen (12:00); Mel Carter's "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" (15:06); and The Rolling Stones "Satisfaction" (17:00);

    On this episode Tom and Bert cover and discuss the Greatest Make Out Songs of the decades (1950's-1960's).

    After the Guys define what a "Make Out" Song is and means to them, they roll into the list of songs with some of the hits and their "Back Stories".

    From the 1963 hit "Hey Paula" by Paul and Paula (20:17); to the 1963 Lenny Welch classic "Since I fell for you" (21:23); to the 1964 hit "The Girl from Ipanema" by Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto (22:40) the guys give their thoughts.

    Then they go through the R&B group The "Miracles" led by Smokey Robinson and the injustice of that group waiting many years to get inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF (25:20); before discussing The Temptations hit, "I wish it would rain" (31:50) and the meaning of those haunting lyrics.

    They close the show with 1968's "You're all I need to get by" (33:06) sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, 1968's "Build me up Buttercup" (35:39) by the Foundations, 1950's classic "Having a Party" (39:28) by the great Sam Cooke and a discussion on the Power of Music helping people with dementia by bringing them songs from their past and the joy it brings for these people.

    The Guys cover a slew of "Words" that are still recognizable today that first appeared over 50+ years ago back in the crazy decade of the 1970's!

    From "Factoid" (2:24); a word that seems inocuous but actually is a manipulation of the word FACT! Well, listen what the guys got to say about that illusion.

    Other Words/Venacular are discussed throughout the pod and the guys tell how they relate to today's world.

    Words like "Watergate" (4:00); to "Meme" (5:30); to "Politically Correct" (7:55); and "Trifecta" (10:02); are all still used in 2024!

    In Part 3, Tom and Bert continue with their conversation and discussion on Great TV Moments. This episode covers the years from 1994 through 2019.

    In 1994 we start with the infamous "OJ Simpson Bronco car chase" (1:45); then we move on to the "1996 Summer Olympics" held in the Atlanta, Georgia (5:48); with Muhammed Ali's lighting of the Torch to start the games and also the terrorist "bombing" at Olympic Park

    Then we cover the untimely and tragic "Death of Princess Diana" in 1997 (17:32); and the "Bush v Gore 2000 Presidental Election in 2000" (21:34);

    Onto the Horrific 2001- "September 11th terrorist attacks on America" (29:50); that had world wide implications including War in the Middle East.

    We also touch on other events that impacted our lives. "Hurricane Katrina" and the devestating flooding of New Orleans (44:30);

    Then the "Janet Jackson Super Bowl Oops!, the Soprano's and Seinfeld TV finales and the Kanye vs Taylor Swift beef.

    In Part 2 we continue the discussion starting with the Vietnam War in 1968 and go thru the Waco Siege in 1993.

    In 1969 we start with the "Moon Landing" (2:39) which drew more than 600 million TV viewer World Wide!

    We then discuss the 1972 Munich Olympics (5:38) and the tragic Terrorist Attacks in Olympic Village before we hit the 1974 resignation of U.S. President Richard Nixon.

    We continue Part 2 with the 1977 airing of "Roots" (11:45); then the TV show "Dallas" and the Who Shot J.R.? cliffhanger in 1980 (13:37);

    We continue thru the 1980's with the "MASH" series finale that was viewed by over a record 106 million people to the 1986- "Challenger" Space Launch Disaster then the devastating San Francisco/Oakland 1989 Earthquake that rocked the Bay Area as the World Series Game 3 was ready to get started!

    We close out the show with other major events including the Fall of the Berlin War, The Simpsons TV show debut, The Rodney King video of police brutality and the ensuing riots after the acquital of the offficers, The U.S. Olympic "Dream Team" basketball teams dominance and the Waco, Texas siege.

    It's been close to 80 years since the Boob Tube entered our lives and when you consider that it really isn't that far removed from our lifetime.

    We give a synopsis of how the criteria for our show was gathered and from the resources we searched.

    In Part 1 we discuss the early days of the late 1940's and the early 1950's thru 1968.

    From "Meet The Press" in 1947 to "I Love Lucy" in 1952 to the FIRST Color TV's and shows in 1953 we roll through the greatest moments.

    Elvis appears on The Ed Sullivan Show, John Kennedy and Richard Nixon are Presidential candidates on the first Televised debate, The "Flintstones" are the 1st animated major prime time TV show and on and on.

    We close Part 1 with the JFK Assassination and Jack Ruby murdering Lee Harvey Oswald, The Beatles on Ed Sullivan the First SUPERBOWL and the 1968 Olympic Games when Tommy Smith and John Carlos raised their fist in solidarity for the tumultuous times of the day.

    We then talk about some "Parking" lots and street parking experiences and how people are so absurd and obtuse (29:06) and other random musings that piss you off! (48:45);

    And finally close with the Pet Owners and all the dumb stuff that aggravates us, Crazy dogs and Cats (56:41) and how people have no clue following guidelines, like curb your dog!
