  • Do you feel pressure to be positive and happy no matter what life throws your way? In a culture that promotes a “Good Vibes Only” mentality, it can feel as though there’s little space to talk about our real feelings. This pressure to be happy and positive at all costs can lead to toxic positivity.

In this episode Brenda provides insights into how toxic positivity can have a detrimental effect on your mental and emotional health by promoting the suppression of real and valid feelings. It expands on the importance of recognizing that authentic positivity isn’t about masking or ignoring difficult emotions but rather about embracing them as integral parts of the human experience. By encouraging the acknowledgment and processing of all emotions, including those that may be uncomfortable or difficult, this episode advocates for a more holistic approach to emotional well-being. Brenda also emphasizes the impact of toxic positivity on relationships and personal growth, pointing out that genuine connections and personal development come from authenticity in expressing feelings and sharing experiences openly. She invites you to reflect on your own tendencies towards toxic positivity and consider ways to create a more emotionally healthy environment for you and those around you.

In this episode of the She Flourishes podcast, host Brenda Jasmin interviews Linda Ljucovic, an organizational development consultant, holistic nutritionist, functional diagnostic nutritionist, yoga teacher, and co-owner of Balance Point Health. Linda discusses four common mistakes women over 40 make which hinder their health and wellness journey. Linda offers practical strategies and tips to avoid these four pitfalls. Linda emphasizes the need for a holistic approach to wellness, investigating root cause issues rather than merely treating symptoms and the importance of considering all factors such as diet, exercise, stress, and overall lifestyle. Linda also shares her personal health journey and insights into hormonal and adrenal health.

    About Linda Ljucovic:

Linda Ljucovic is an Organizational Development Consultant, Holistic Nutritionist, Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, Yoga Teacher, and Co-Owner (with her husband) of Balance Point Health. She educates women and men on how to incorporate healthier habits into their lives and how to lead a more natural and toxin free lifestyle.
