Ryan Maybee founded the speakeasy-style bar Manifesto in Kansas City in 2009, catalyzing the city’s cocktail scene. By accident, he discovered that the building he was operating in used to be home to a whiskey distillery. He resurrected the brand, J. Rieger & Co. in 2014. Amanda Gunderson is the CEO and co-founder of Another Round Another Rally. A nonprofit financial and educational resource for the hospitality industry providing reimbursement grants and immersive educational scholarships to further the education of historically excluded voices. It also supplies emergency assistance to those who have fallen into unexpected hardship.
Noteworthy: When they opened relief applications early in the pandemic, they received 79,000 applications in a week, handled by 300 volunteers. They awarded 3 million dollars in three months.
