  • This episode with Gary Waters, High Performance Mindset Coach, is all about getting to the root cause of what's limiting your ability to experience true freedom, joy, love and vitality.

He shares insights into a completely different way of thinking, leading to a life changing shift in perspective. I really appreciated Gary's ability to give tangible action steps to the listener - you and me. You'll love this episode.

Here's a lot of what we talked about ...

Mindset plays a significant role in shaping our experiences and outcomes in life. Our subconscious mind is influenced by our environment and language, particularly during childhood. Identifying and challenging limiting beliefs is crucial for personal growth and transformation. Affirmations alone are not enough to shift deeply ingrained beliefs; addressing the root cause is necessary. Changing perspectives can lead to a new way of seeing oneself and the world, which can lead to behavioral changes and different results. Rock bottom can be a catalyst for change and a turning point in one's life. Triggers are opportunities for self-awareness and growth, and they often stem from resistance to certain aspects of life. Desire can come from a place of lack or dissatisfaction, but shifting to a mindset of abundance and wholeness can change the energy behind desire. Allowing and surrendering can lead to a sense of freedom and ease in life. The journey of transformation takes time and commitment, and it often involves ongoing practice and self-discovery. Morning practices can set the tone for the day and help establish a positive mindset and frequency. Gary Waters can be found at garywaters.co.uk and on Instagram as @iamgarywaters. Working with Gary Waters involves a discovery call to determine if there is a fit and to discuss the duration and details of the coaching relationship. Appreciation and gratitude for the time and presence of others can create a meaningful connection and exchange.

  • Into my life walks Corrie Bignell, The Unregistered Nurse / Certified Self Sabotage Coach - with a workshop all about self sabotage.

I was a co-facilitator at a retreat where I had the privilege of hearing all Corrie's work and wisdom. Corrie joins me today to talk ALL about the topic of self sabotage. You are going to want to listen to this.

If you asked me two weeks ago if I self sabotage myself I would've said no.

And once I listened to why most of us are unconsciously self sabotaging ourselves, it all made much more sense. And now my answer is, YES ... but all that is changing.

This episode is all about the topic of self sabotage and more importantly, how to STOP sabotaging yourself.

    Short Overview:

Corrie's personal history with self sabotage Becoming a Certified Self Sabotage Coach Self-sabotage and the influence of programming on our subconscious minds. How programming from childhood and the media can contribute to self-destructive behaviors. The need to reprogram the subconscious mind to overcome self-sabotage and achieve personal growth and success.

    Main Takeaways:

The subconscious mind can process a vast amount of information and influences our thoughts and behaviors. Self-sabotage can manifest in various areas of life, such as health, finances, and relationships. Programming from childhood and media exposure can contribute to self-sabotaging behaviors. Reprogramming the subconscious mind through techniques like hypnotherapy can help overcome self-sabotage and achieve personal growth. The prefrontal cortex is responsible for impulse control, personality, motivation, and fear. Lifestyle factors such as toxins and negative programming can damage the prefrontal cortex and lead to self-sabotage. Toxins that damage the prefrontal cortex include coffee, alcohol, big pharma products, nicotine, and sugars. Eliminating or reducing exposure to these toxins can support brain health and reduce self-sabotaging behaviors. Reprogramming the subconscious mind through hypnotherapy and positive repetition can help change self-sabotaging behaviors and beliefs. Surrounding oneself with positive influences and engaging in empowering activities can also support positive change. Physical health is essential for overall well-being and empowerment. Taking care of one's physical health can contribute to mental and emotional strength and resilience. Taking action and making small changes in daily habits and routines can lead to significant positive transformations. Surrounding oneself with positive and uplifting people can also support personal growth and change.

  • Hey .... Another solo episode.

I'm full on into Season 3 and in this season I'm mostly recording my own solo episodes; however, I've got a few really amazing guests lined up that you'll hear from soon enough.

Recently I contributed to a women's retreat in Costa Rica and I'm sharing my experience as a collaborator at someone else's retreat. So many lessons + rememberings.

This episode is short + sweet and perfect for the human who learns, reflects and is motivated through other's stories and experiences.

The main topics that come up are: control (ugh ... the micromanaging of all the things), contribution, hidden blessings, female friendships and reciprocity.

I'll leave it at that. If this resonates with you please share it with your inner circle.

  • This short episode is a solo episode talking about HEALING.

    The healing we've done.

The healing we've yet to do.

And the healing that is between where we are and where we want to be.

Eight weeks ago I started to practice again after a four year break. In this time I have known that many of us are struggling in our wholeness.

The stress (in all its forms), unprocessed emotions and trauma have left many humans managing ... versus thriving.

Simply put, I'm sharing my thoughts and views on what's happening in the world right now and how you can move into a greater state of healing ... if you so choose.

  • In this episode, I share my experience of moving to Costa Rica from Canada. For some this is a much anticipated podcast episode. I talk about the reason why we moved -- including concerns about Canada's "pandemic" response and governmental control. I talk about the trucker / freedom rally and how it influenced our decision. In a way we never saw coming. I cover how and why we chose Costa Rica and the area we are in - including our many challenges along the way. Also, the residency and visa process, access to healthcare, nutritious food and availability of organic and sustainable food. I talk about access to amenitities, beach vs mountain towns, power and internet outages and dealing with the climate of Costa Rica. I share my thoughts on letting go and adjusting expectations, safety and security, language and currency, and the benefits of trading and bartering. I also emphasize the importance of being part of the community and expressing gratitude for the opportunities and abundance in Costa Rica. I also share our future plans and where we are all at currently .... 1.5 years in. Additional Takeaways: Living in expat areas in Costa Rica provides access to a range of services and amenities, including schools, restaurants, gyms, and holistic services. Choosing between living in beach towns and mountain towns depends on personal preferences, with beach towns offering a more relaxed lifestyle and mountain towns providing cooler temperatures. The hot and humid climate in Costa Rica can lead to mold issues, making air conditioning and dehumidification necessary for a comfortable living environment. Power outages and internet issues are common in Costa Rica, but uninterrupted power supplies and fast internet connections are available. Adapting to the Costa Rican lifestyle requires letting go of expectations and embracing the slower pace of life and the connection to nature. Pura Vida is aptly named for life in Costa Rica! Respecting the local community and being mindful of the impact of expat presence on the cost of living and local resources is important. Language and currency considerations include the prevalence of English-speaking locals and the need for cash transactions. Trading and bartering are common practices in Costa Rica, allowing for the exchange of goods and services. Being part of the community and giving back contribute to a more fulfilling expat experience. Transition and integration take time, and it is important to be patient and open to the changes and growth that come with living in a new country. Expressing gratitude for the opportunities and abundance in Costa Rica enhances the expat experience. Future plans in Costa Rica may be uncertain, but being present and following one's heart's calling is essential.

  • Hey beautiful souls,

This episode is a fascinating discussion with Kendra Toothill -- We talk all about SCARS.

And before you press 'skip' and move on because you can't imagine what scars has to do with the quality of your present day life ... pull a chair up. Turns out that the scars we carry (visible and invisible) hold potent stories and the work that Kendra does helps uncover and heal both the physical and emotional energy within.

Kendra began discovering the potential of scar tissue as an Athletic Therapist working in elite-level sports over ten years ago.

Over her professional career, she has been refining her geeky scar obsession, which has ultimately birthed a holistic healing method that helps people make sense of their multiple health symptoms in an integrative way, using scars as an anchor point into deep physical, emotional and energetic healing.

In this episode we talk about:

The definition of scar and what role they play in the healing process. How Kendra came to this work and made her way into this niche treatment. From Athletic Therapist to scar and deep fascial work and working with women who do breast explant surgery.

How scars contribute to various bodily dysfunctions, including digestive and breathing problems, nervous system issues, anxiety, and chronic pain.

Working on scars to assist the body in rewiring more productive nervous system patterns.

The role of emotional and energetic healing in the scar treatment process. The emotional implications of surgery, injuries and often birthing experiences that are held in the scar tissue of the body. The dysfunction in surrounding muscles and how the scar attempts to priotize the healing of tissue to provide safety and security. The opportunity for emotional and physical healing when you address scars in the body. What PDTR (Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex) treatment is and how Kendra uses it in her treatment. Kendra's in-person work in Uvita, Costa Rica as well as her online offerings and in-person retreats in Austin, Texas.

    Timestamp of today's episode:

00:00 Praises Kendra's impactful work with scars.

04:51 Fascination with scars led to healing practice.

10:30 Body compensates for injuries, requires ongoing care.

14:16 Emotional healing through physically working scar tissue.

16:28 Learning to work with emotional scars deeply.

20:24 Remaining neutral while observing client's emotional connection.

24:44 Courage in holistic practice, acknowledging emotions crucial.

28:38 PDTR quickly rewires nervous system, removes trauma.

31:08 Scar tissue affects body dysregulation, needing rewiring.

33:46 Diverse experiences after breast explant surgery.

37:43 Physical injury led to self-doubt, introspection, healing.

41:40 Avoid stimulus, focus on natural healing process.

44:17 Developing online sessions and in-person retreats.

48:37 Gratitude for listeners and call to action.

    Notable moments during the episode:

The Transformative Power of Healing Scars: "And it just kind of began this experiment of really seeing how much you can unpack in a single scar. And so it has a huge hold and restraint physically on the tissues local but also general to the whole body and all the body systems. But it has this really important piece that I really love that opens up the whole kind of gateway of what really a healing journey is and that's working with the emotional body and how the energetic signature can really get literally entangled and encapsulated inside the scar tissue."

    — Kendra Toothill

The Significance of Scar Tissue in Healing Processes: "The scar is just any kind of mending process that has happened where the tissue has healed in some way to form a different bond. The actual components of scar tissue is different than your muscle tissue or your skin or your ligament tendon."

    — Kendra Toothill

Respecting the Body's Healing Process: "So when people do hurt themselves and they do have an open wound from accident surgery, giving birth, I always say, like, step one, let the body do what it needs and wants to do. It is seeking a solid, firm, stable anchor point."

    — Kendra Toothill

Healing Emotional Trauma Through Scar Tissue Therapy: "And why I love working with the emotions in this way, using the body as a way to stay grounded and in connection with yourself, is when these emotions come up to be processed, you're pretty embodied at that point, like you're building a relationship up with the scar. You're understanding your processes and why things are happening."

    — Kendra Toothill

Emotional Scar Tissue and Healing: "And if you were a little child, that created a lot of confusion and that energetic signature of feeling abandoned goes right into the scar tissue."

    — Kendra Toothill

Emotional Healing and Physical Contact: "You can't grab happiness or fear out of the air, but when you work with it from being in your body and touching your body and making contact with yourself, it allows those emotions to be worked and explored in a more nourishing way."

    — Kendra Toothill

    More About Kendra Toothill:

Kendra Toothill began discovering the potential of scar tissue as an Athletic Therapist working in elite-level sports over ten years ago. Over her professional career, she has been refining her geeky scar obsession, which has ultimately birthed a holistic healing method that helps people make sense of their multiple health symptoms in an integrative way, using scars as an anchor point into deep physical, emotional and energetic healing.

As best she can, Kendra strives to walk her talk, which is centered around being empowered through your own healing process, taking chances, being curious (& dorky!), not taking life too seriously and swallowing the "red pill" of self-responsibility, self-awareness and living a life aligned to truth.

Kendra now lives in Costa Rica, and when she is not guiding people through a health and healing process, you will find her exploring nature, enjoying exotic fruits and soaking up the epic sunshine!

  • Hi beautiful human! I'm really grateful to be welcoming Shirlee Williams back to the podcast..

This is a co-creative episode arising from our collective experience of ENOUGHNESS.

Simply put, this is an episode about ENOUGH. The concept of enoughness in all it’s derivations.

AND I’m really inspired to be having this conversation with Shirlee Williams, a spiritual mindset coach, yoga teacher, mama to two adult twin boys and a behemoth dog. She’s a partner to a fabulous endurance coach, Andrew. A breathwork facilitator, Yoga Teacher Trainer to women over 45 years of age [her YTT program is called Wisdom].

Shirlee and I co-create retreat experiences together for women - in the form of multiday retreats in extraordinary locations and one day events. [scroll down to see Reclaim - Mexico April 2024 and The Gathering - Ontario Canada July 2024].

In this episode, we talk about:

Laura open's the circle in a way that we often do during retreats + special events. The concept of "enoughness" and the struggle to feel "enough" and "happy" with what one has in life. Having enough versus Being enough. The importance of knowing and living by one's values to achieve fulfillment and make meaningful decisions. Staying present and connected to the present moment to feel fulfilled. Complexity as the default and the desire for simplicity in life, referencing the rat race of always wanting "more." Listening to the heart's voice and prioritizing feelings over thoughts, as thoughts can lead to overthinking and feeling "mucked up". The need to stay aligned with oneself and not be swayed by external influences or judgments from others. The pressure to live up to certain standards and expectations in daily life. Seeking fulfillment versus seeking happiness. Living one's values leading to a greater degree of fulfillment in life. Shirlee shares her practices and how she stays connected inward to keep rooting into being enough, doing enough and having enough. Shirlee's "brag notes" as a simple technique for reminding herself how exceptional she is. The "inner work" involves asking difficult questions, listening for truth, and staying conscious of your inner work through journaling, breath work, and self-reflection. Inner work is personal and can change over time, and it is important to have agency and bring it into consciousness, even during busy seasons of life. The need to stay aligned with oneself and not be swayed by external influences or judgments from others. The one word close of the episode.

The Power of Letting Go: "And it became a metaphor for life for me about what was weighing me down externally and how I could shed more of the external components, almost, of the baggage."— Shirlee Williams

The Importance of Trusting and Listening to Find Truth: "It's asking the really hard, open-ended questions and listening for the truth that I know is there. And it's also, I mean, these days it's taking a tremendous amount of trust to sit and be a little uncomfortable, but know that the answer is going to come."— Shirlee Williams

Self-reflection and Leaving a Lasting Impact: "I ask myself a lot, how do I want to leave the world? What kind of impact? I don't know. Maybe it's like above 50 year old message. I want to leave the world a better place. So then how am I going to show up? What kind of work do I need to do on myself to make that happen? I think that's the inner work for me these days."— Shirlee Williams

And I think we have to be willing to tell ourselves the truth of it. Poke some holes in our own story of not being enough."— Laura Foster

Mindful Living: "What you need to do is get very clear on what those actually are like. They're already present, but you just pay attention to them. Because if you focus on living your top four or five values, chances are you're going to feel a lot more fulfilled."— Laura Foster

  • Hey ... look at you go Laura. Two solo episodes in one month!

Today I'm sharing what happened to me when I broke my arm earlier this year. On the surface it was evident the bone needed to heal, but what came through as that bone healing happened, was the opportunity to go deeper into what the IMPACT of that injury had on me.

    My body

    My heart

    My emotions

My sense of what's possible and who I am in the world.

Maybe you've not broken a bone and so this would seem irrelevant to you; however, haven't we all had an injury of sorts (emotionally, physically, financially, spiritually)? When the injury heals, the impact remains.

This is a discussion about healing the impact and how to use the resonance of injury to go deeper into your own healing.

    Areas I touch on:

The details of breaking my arm in August 2023 The process of navigating the medical system here in Costa Rica Importance of taking control of your healing process even if you have professionals around you with more degrees, certification and letters behind their name. Importance of persisting, tuning in, and being fully supported for fast and complete healing Healing process unlocks new levels of being and sets off new trajectories Healing as peeling back layers of an onion- each layer of healing reveals deeper issues held in DNA, cells, and energetic grids Release and resolution of issues leads to the next layer of healing Role of alternative healing modalities in managing the body during healing Broken arm as a catalyst for deeper healing and changes in engagement with others Understanding the messages and pain the body communicates Choosing substance and deep learning over floating on the surface Dealing with the pain and acceptance of the injury's impact The IMPACT of an injury long after the acute injury heals

    Notable Quotes:

On Healing through Discomfort: "I am outwardly and very consciously and inwardly asking my body what messages it has for me. What does this pain represent? Other things that have come up are let me think, what parts of me wants to be healed in this moment? Who am I in this discomfort? That's a good one. Who am I in this discomfort? And then just the one that I turn away from, which is just so good all the time is how can I support myself right now? Like, what do I need right now? And occurs to me that when my arm healed and the impact lingered, this became like the access point for me to come into some deeper healing. And I really think that whether we are talking about a broken bone or we're talking about a broken heart it can be really the same thing. That it's possible that when the acuteness like that - in the moment, the loudest voice in the room heals, there's an impact that can linger. And it's the impact that can create such a deep imprint in your being. And I need to address the impact, I need to address the imprint."— Laura Foster

On The Healing Process: "Healing is like an onion...with each layer of our own healing, we access something deeper, something that we've done a better job of pushing further down."— Laura Foster

On Unlocking New Trajectories: "And this kind of work really, I think, unlocks us for the next level, like setting us off into new trajectories, new timelines, new levels of being."— Laura Foster

On Taking Charge of Healing: "But it's also the responsibility. It's your responsibility. It's my responsibility to take charge of my own healing and to have agency over my body."— Laura Foster

On The Power of Self-Healing: "I am the healer and it's important to listen to my own intuition'"— Laura Foster

    Timestamp:

[00:04:40] Left arm injury prompted immediate home treatment.

[00:06:27] Not a chiropractic radiologist but important details.

[00:11:05] Private healthcare in Canada offers easier access.

[00:14:55] Bone healing requires immobilization, but also movement.

[00:17:07] Taking responsibility for healing is vital.

[00:19:57] Arm break spoke loudest, but not most significant. Other healing layers needed attention.

[00:24:01] Infiltrated thoughts; deep, introspective questioning; admission.

[00:27:13] Body messages: pain's representation, healing, support.

[00:31:03] New connections bring growth, despite goodbyes and fear.

  • This episode is the cosmic reminder of the power of grace, vulnerability and doing what's aligned with your values and ethics.

My guest this week is Kristen Nagle -- a woman my family celebrated a lot over the last few years. What an honour to have her on the podcast.

Kristen is a former NICU nurse of 14 years turned holistic, homeschooling, faithfilled mama.

There is a long pause right in the middle of the episode where I sat in my emotions. There ended up being so much energy for me in this conversation with Kristen.

Kristen is a woman who stood up for her values and risked it all by questioning the "status quo" as a Registered Nurse in an Ontario NICU. As a mom, health practitioner, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and passionate advocate for true health and wellbeing she has a lot of knowledge to share with those who are interested in understanding health, immunity and whole body healing at a deeper level.

In this episode we touch on:

Life as a Registered Nurse pre-pandemic. Becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Learning and sharing so much about holistic nutrition and feeding and nourishing infants and children. Sharing her information with nurses and feeling supported. Diving into the routine immunization schedule for children. Questioning the lack of informed consent and wanting more information. Feeling the tides turning as she talked about the lack of true scientific information. The Freedom rally and Kristen's involvement at Canada's capital. What it feels like to have the media turn against you. Being vilified for your beliefs. Unifying in protests and rallies at hospitals across Canada. Being suspended as a Registered Nurse. College of Nurses of Ontario investigation. Eventually terminated as a RN and resigning her license with the College of Nurses of Ontario. The transformation from pain to purpose. What Kristen is now doing and what this means in her life and future right now. What's lighting her up in the work she's doing. Hosting a recent one-day birth conference that was wildly successful.

    Quotable Moments in this Episode:

On The Importance of Challenging Medical Conventions: "And now I know that critical thinking just means as long as you stay within the box that is provided and don't go outside of what we are telling you to do."— Kristen Nagle

On False Accusations and Resilience: "At that point, I was placed under investigation by the College of Nurses of Ontario. I was put under indefinite suspension. And I saw the disclosure, and I saw some letters that came in, one being a very close family member, that wrote in a three page letter about how apparently I was a QAnon leader, I was leading Trump supporters or doing something, and I should be terminated and my license revoked immediately. I remember where I was in that moment, and I collapsed on the floor. And I don't think I've ever cried so hard in my life. And there was this moment where after the tears and the crying and lots of kind of fallout from other things, I remember thinking I could stay in this spot on the floor or I could pick myself up and keep going because otherwise everything that's already happened would be all for nothing. And so I kept going because I knew there was another nurse in Toronto that had been speaking up. We had already been connected."— Kristen Nagle

On The Power of Hospital Rallies: "And then we knew that we were onto something, because out of all the things that had happened along the way, the most hate we received was after the hospital rallies, right? And it's because the media had to put an end to it, because they were seeing that how successful it was becoming.'"— Kristen Nagle

On Media Hate and the Power of Unity During The Freedom Convoy: "But it was that moment after the media hate. At that time, it was so heavy, and then it was like we're getting so burnt out. And just when we were getting burnt out and done and kind of giving up, the trucks rolled in, and I had to go [be a part of the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa]."— Kristen Nagle

On The Power of Love at the Freedom Convoy: "And we didn't fight evil back with evil, and we didn't fight back hate with hate. And we remained the most peaceful, loving group I'd ever witnessed in my life. And I don't think there's anything more powerful than that."— Kristen Nagle

On Her Initial View of Home Births: "I have done so many 180s in my life, and that was a huge one where I actually would fight with people and say that home birth should be illegal. I thought they were dangerous. I thought those people were reckless. And I went back and apologized to every single one."— Kristen Nagle

On The Power of Showing Up: "Showing up in that moment helps somebody else continue to show up in those moments. I can only imagine how you became a lifeline for so many people."— Laura Foster

  • I've been eagerly waiting to have this conversation about the power of homeopathy to heal, expand, restore and upgrade health and life expression.

Today I have Jen Bishop on the podcast.

Jen is an Intuitive Healer who is trained in Homeopathy and Reiki - and a graduate of the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine.

In this episode we talk about:

What is homeopathy and how Jen came to have homeopathy in her life. Laura's experience with homeopathy and how it has become a twenty + year relationship with the extraordinary power of homeopathy to heal. How homeopathy actually works and how remedies are made. The kinds of questions a homeopath may ask to be able to properly prescribe the most appropriate homeopathic remedy to "match" your symptom picture. The importance of considering the broader context - not just one area of the body - when considering how homeopathy can best support your healing journey. The difference between acute and chronic. Emotions and illness both having a specific energy and frequency. How storing unresolved emotions in the body leading to imbalances and physical symptoms. Working with a chronic state of sympathetic dominance in the body -- "fight or flight" energy that has become increasingly common in society. Homeopathy as an ART and a SCIENCE. Homeopathic remedies acting as tuning forks or providing information to trick the body into thinking it is at the wellness point. Homeopathy supporting mental health and emotional symptoms. The origins of Homeopathy and Samuel Hahnemann's initial work. Peruvian bark inducing malaria-like symptoms in Hahnemann's body. Minor aggravations often seen as positive by homeopaths. Stimulating, supporting, and being in union with the body's natural healing processes. Remedies bringing the body back to its natural balance.

    Noteable Quotes:

"On The Origins of Homeopathic Medicine: 'Homeopathic medicine is fascinating because it's considered energy medicine because it has no molecular value left of the crude substance it is made from.'"— Jen Bishop

On The Importance of Listening to Your Body: "The body only has one way to communicate with us, and that is through symptoms."— Jen Bishop

On Homeopathy vs. Western Medicine: "With homeopathy, you really are bringing a new energy to the body and a new, healthier, more balanced energy to the body."— Jen Bishop

On The Balance of Healing: "I really, truly believe that we are already healed. We have what we need within ourselves. But really, what if healing is more about balance than anything else?"— Jen Bishop

On The Energy of Anxiety: "I feel like it's something that's happening in the world energetically, where there's a lot of fight or flight energy, which I've experienced in my life and done a lot of work on, and it's coming to the surface for a lot of people at the moment."— Jen Bishop

On The Power of Homeopathy in Healing Mental Health: "So homeopathy is a beautiful thing, and it's capable of a lot of stuff, especially in mental health and especially with mental emotional symptoms. But it is, again, just a piece of the puzzle to support you in your well being."— Jen Bishop

On The Beauty of Homeopathy: "But this is the beauty of what I know about homeopathy is that gap, that space, that opening that it creates for you is an opening for you to walk through. And without that tap on the shoulder and that opening, it's sometimes difficult to find that space to walk."— Laura Foster

On The Healing Process: "Often times our symptoms, aka signals, are actually healing signals... so much of what goes on in the body is actually signs of healing already occurring."— Laura Foster

On The Power of a Holistic Approach: "The humans in my practice who had a holistic full body approach to how they support their body always got better. Often got better, faster or more completely because everything was working together."— Laura Foster

  • Inspired by a request from my podcast producer, Alyssa Boccia of Mic Drop Productions, this episode is a solo episode all about my entrepreneurial journey.

Before you put your eye mask on to take a nap, let's think about all the ups, downs and sideways that happen in entrepreneurship.

And questions like, do "successful" entrepreneurs know what they are doing? How do seasoned entrepreneurs handle set backs and difficulties? Are successful entrepreneurs born or created?

It occured to me a couple years ago that my boys have lived with an entrepreneurial mom their entire life and yet even they seemed to only notice the highlight reel. Maybe I shielded my kids from my "failures" [like that time I failed an important licensing exam ... oh ya, fuccck] and when the funding didn't come through and my name was on a lease I didn't have the money for?

I've earned these wrinkles my friends ... and something tells me that if you are an entrepreneur you have faced your own trials and tribulations along the way. If you are new on this journey or contemplating a new direction there will probably be something in this discussion for you.

Despite it all, I'd pick the sovereign journey every single time ... especially now my friends. More on that in the episode.

    I also talk about:

[00:15:34] Creating a business plan without knowing what I was doing.

[00:18:51] Uncertainty, signed lease, faced rejections, being my own contractor.

[00:22:10] No patients, no money for marketing. The affordability of door knocking.

[00:25:31] Connecting through speaking and writing as a way to be seen.

[00:27:38] Making tough choices and redefining success.

[00:32:17] Human curiosity; unmet needs, body communication, self-discovery.

[00:33:42] Desire for self-development retreats sparked my current path.

[00:42:02] My 'Freedom 50 Plan' sidetracked by divorce.

[00:44:54] Stay curious, ask questions, and be present.

[00:47:35] Entrepreneurship offers flexibility, freedom, and hard work.

[00:51:59] Share, connect, engage, impact, subscribe, retreats

    [00:54:38] The sovereignty of entrepreneurship.

    Moments During The Podcasts:

On The Importance of Sharing the "Shit of It": "But that's the thing about observing somebody else's life, is for the most part, we tend to see the highlights. And I didn't fully realize that sharing the shit of it was actually not something that was going to prevent them from wanting to keep walking ahead in their own entrepreneurial journey, but it was actually going to fuel them that they would somehow find compassion for themselves when they had difficulty, when they had troubles, when they came up against their own difficulties."— Laura Foster

On Millennials and the Value of Working for Others: "Working for other people highlighted to me what I liked about working for other people, what I liked about people who ran the businesses or didn't like, and how people responded to certain bosses. All of this, to me, felt like it was research and development."— Laura Foster

On Making Tough Choices: "And anybody in business will know you can do great work, but if the numbers don't work in your business, you're not going to be in business."— Laura Foster

On The Evolution of Dreams: "But at some point eventually, this initial dream of being a chiropractor, owning the clinic, impacting the community, being in connection with other humans, the way I was, stopped being my dream."— Laura Foster

  • Beautiful humans — today’s episode is all about explanting from breast implants with Adrian Ellison.

This is the first time Adrian has shared her journey publicly on a podcast and with that, she is ready to connect the dots for any women who have had or are considering explant surgery.

This isn’t a discussion about the merits or controversy of getting breast implants.

This episode focuses on how to support yourself, your healing and the invitation into what it would mean for you to become a fully embodied woman who embraces all aspects of who she is.

Adrian is here to be a living testimony to the healing that can occur with proper tissue rehabilitation for scars, neuro re-wiring for the nervous system, detoxing for the organs, healing the gut & lightening the load for the entire body so it can get back to using all its energy for creation instead of fighting.

    Here’s where the discussion goes:

Adrian’s journey of getting breast implants and why she decided to get them removed.

Impact of breast implants on the nervous system and lack of awareness in western medicine

What Adrian felt immediately after her breast explant surgery → a massive leveling up in her vibration and the challenges that came therafter.

What Adrian failed to do to prepare herself pre-surgery and how she guides women with the knowledge and resources now.

Her healing journey post-explant surgery and all the things she learned along the way.

Adrian’s recommendation for pre and post surgery support.

Detox and drainage with Christy Nault

Importance of proper drainage during detox to avoid redistribution of toxins

Impact of functional medicine doctor and chiropractor using quantum neuro-reset technique

Emphasis on fascia work and its role in healing

Discovery of Kendra Toothill's work on scar tissue removal and rewiring the nervous system

Impact of implants on muscles, ganglia nerves, and the nervous system

Techniques like EFT tapping and vagal stimulation for signaling safety to nervous system

Need for manual lymph movement techniques

Coffee enemas to increase natural glutathione production

The value of ‘binders’ for detoxification

Lack of connection and feeling of dislocation with implants

Impact of unacknowledged emotions in the body

Disruption of body's circuitry, compensation, and disconnection

The importance of compassion, forgiveness and patience in her healing journey.

Inspiring women to take healing into their own hands and choose healthcare providers carefully

    Adrian’s work + offerings:

Healing After Explant Retreat - Nov 10-13, 2024 / Austin, Texas

A 4-day educational + somatic retreat for women recovering from breast explant surgery.

    https://www.awakenthemedicine.com/Healingafterexplantretreat

8 Week Virtual Explant Education led by Adrian with guest Kendra Toothill - Begins October 5, 2024

    Notable Moments During The Episode:

On The Desire for Connection: "So I think so much of getting implants or any kind of plastic surgery is really a cry for, like, see me, acknowledge me, notice me. Give me attention. Tell me that I'm loved or tell me that I'm enough. Or anything that is of the essence of like I'm changing the way that I look as a way to receive something else in my life."

    — Adrian Ellison

On The Impact of Breast Implant Removal: "I'm not going to keep anything in my body that's potentially making me sick when I'm spending so much energy and money and time pouring into my healing."

    — Adrian Ellison

On The Complex Nature of Trauma and Healing: "And that's the body's way of saying like, hey, there's this vibration that's too overwhelming in here. And I'm like, I'm trying to offload it, but it's not getting offloaded in a subtle way. So then these things come up and they trigger it and then it's overwhelming, it's too much at once, right? That's really what trauma is."

    — Adrian Ellison

On The Importance of Emotional Preparation for Surgery: "By the way, this isn't about implants. This conversation is about everything that's ever happened to you in your life that if it's not digested, will find a home in your explant scars and in your implant scars, because that is the best place for it to go because there's no communication going there."

    — Adrian Ellison

On Detox Protocol and Healing: "I mentioned all of that to say - no matter how bad you feel like your circumstances are, my story, if anything, can be a testimony to the fact that the body can go from ‘on its way out + dying’ - where there is no real life left in the cells and in some of the organs and low organ function to where I'm at right now, which is living high vibration."

    — Adrian Ellison

  • Hey beautiful humans,

Our deep, enriching conversation takes a deep dive into the world of traditional medicine, modern healing, and the transformative power of guided psychedelic journeys.

    Gary Logan, ATCD -

Gary is deeply committed to awakening people from their slumber to help them access the richness of the present moment on an ever-increasing frequency.

Gary’s deep awareness of the psycho-physical connection, through the Alexander Technique, is a key distinction of The JourneyMen Collective work that prepares the whole being for the ceremonies and facilitates a dynamic integration process; from the spiritual to the physical embodiment of renewal.

    Robert Glover, MSc -

Robert was led to his own shamanic journey, where he remembered that his higher purpose is to help others connect into their innate guidance systems and universal truths through the shamanic path. He learned to honour and offer the dynamic flow of unique metaphysical technology, that is continually unfurling within him, for the people that embark on their own journey.

The Journeymen Collective is the masterpiece of Gary and Robert.

They specializes in masterfully guiding visionaries through curated luxurious psychedelic medicine shamanic journeys to create conscious impact for the whole of humanity and the planet.

The Journeymen Collective expertly guide you through the metaphysical wilderness of your soul so that you can weave the transcendental threads of knowledge, accessed during the psychedelic journey, through the eye of the needle of your embodied heart into the tapestry of your visionary reality.

    In this episode we discuss:

Their path, individually and collectively, to come to this work. Description of the four-day experience as a journey, tailored to each individual. The positive effects of guided use of psilocybin mushrooms. The pitfalls of continuous psychedelic journeys without utilizing insights gained. The importance of integration. Importance of creating and embodying one's higher potential. "Applied integration" or "new AI" phase of continued questioning and learning. Example of a client's deeper conversations and presence after a journey. The game-changing potential of approaching medicine with intent, respect, reverence, and integrity. Need for ceremonial and ritualized space for deep self-connection and awareness. Increased capacity for love, peace, happiness, and empowerment after journeys. Guiding executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals through psychedelic plant medicine journeys. Need for people to find their passion and purpose to combat depression and disconnection. Transition from the "forgetting phase" to the "remembering phase" of the planet. Uncovering the power and potential within the human body. How you can connect and work with Gary and Robert.

[00:04:27] Graduate school, scientific mindset, spiritual awakening, coaching business, psychedelic journey, depth of conversation, training with medicine man.

[00:10:48] Transitioned, theater, Alexander Technique, teacher, awakening, spiritual center, healing hands

[00:19:12] Trusting the path, embracing opportunities, evolving consciousness.

[00:26:23] Planet emerging from dark phase, seeking connection.

[00:30:51] Magic mushrooms facilitate deep inner exploration.

[00:37:05] Mushrooms provide nutrients for growth and healing.

[00:42:21] Traditional work with modern medicine man vibe. Minimum 4 month commitment. Preparation, video content, 4-day journey. Ceremony and integration. Reluctant to leave.

[00:53:55] Break free from societal boxes, find yourself.

[00:56:41] The power of inner wisdom and support.

    KEY QUOTES:

Personal Growth Through Journaling: "It was like the journaling really helped me to put down on paper my thoughts and feelings about my family dynamic. And I never knew that until right now."— Gary Logan

Celestial Awakening: "This is your awakening. We've been knocking at the door. Are you ready?"— Gary Logan

"Overcoming Grief and Depression: And after Robert came back from his journey, we jokingly say he found his joy spot. And I thought, well, if he can shift his depression, because I had never experienced a big depression or grief or even anxiety. And I thought, what is this? What's going on with my heart and my chest and my breathing? And I thought, well, if he shifted, maybe I need to shift."— Gary Logan

Breaking Free of Societal Constraints: "The idea is, how can I break free of that paradigm of being boxed in from society and parents and break free? First thing to do is, from the inside, poke a hole through the box to see the light come into the darkness. You know there's something on the other side. And as you go to that light, more holes will be poked in the box, and that box will disintegrate, and you will step free out of that box into your true self. It's recognizing that you have put yourself in your own box."— Gary Logan

The Importance of Conscious Business: "And part of what we felt was deeply, deeply important was that people step into conscious business. And how does that happen? Each and every single person that's involved in the business wakes up to their ever evolving journey of becoming more and more conscious."— Robert Grover

Awakening to the Spiritual World: "And I came out of that experience. I had found my joy again. The depression had lifted, the grief had lifted. And when I was working with the medicine men and the discussions and conversations that we were having, I was like, even right now, I've got goosebumps. Even remembering into that moment in that I made sort of a declaration to the universe in that I stated, these are the conversations that I want to be having with people. The depth of conversation, the depth of connection, the depth of exploration and wonder and curiosity is what I wanted to create for people."— Robert Grover

The Power of Remembering: "A big part of this is when we look at the planetary scale, the planet is coming out of a dark phase, a forgetting phase. And so what is on the flip side of that? It's a remembering."— Robert Grover

The Power of Psilocybin and Personalized Attention: "When you meet that medicine with a high level of intent, a high level of respect, reverence, integrity for your own being and for your own discovery process, it can be a game changer when you allow someone to guide you through that vulnerable place, that vulnerable space within yourself."— Robert Grover

The Importance of Education and Guidance in Plant Medicine Journeys: "But we just started, and here we are, and that journey. There's a high need for education in this space that so many people don't know what they're getting into, when they get into it, and then they're in it."— Robert Grover

The Power of Inner Wisdom: "When you start to ignore what's happening out around you, not out of ignorance or disrespect, but when you start cutting away all of the distraction, all of the noise that's out there and you start to listen to that inner wisdom within yourself and you start to let that out, there is no fucking stopping you."— Robert Grover

And Earth itself is saying, hey, I'm about to rebirth and you guys want to come through."— India Mayorga 00:27:30 - 00:27:41 On Empowering Women in Indigenous Territories: "You really have to be committed to yourself and believe in yourself. And at the end of the day, no one can do that for you. No one can believe but you."— India Mayorga 00:31:31 - 00:31:40 On The Power of Sacred Presence: "Your mere presence is that sacred. And so taking care of your body has to be that sacred because this is the vehicle that we're getting here on this experience."— India Mayorga 00:38:25 - 00:38:37 On The New Earth: "We're asking for everyone to come together and really collaborate and share resources and have this sovereignty of being and explore and enjoy"— India Mayorga 00:40:25 - 00:40:35 A Glimpse into the New Earth: "We did it, we did it."— India Mayorga 00:48:34 - 00:48:36

Rachel leverages the activating nature of like-minded community, coaching and in-real-life experiences to help turn the light back on in women entrepreneurs who have fallen prey to burn out and self-doubt so they can get back to doing what they were born to do.

Some of the things we dive into:

Rachel's journey of self-discovery and reevaluation. Ending a relationship and reevaluated her life. Rachel's philosophy and ability to change her mind Rachel's journey as a female entrepreneur and her own experience of frequent change and personal exploration. Notable quotes from Rachel:

The Power of Changing Your Mind: "And one thing I have zero shame about is changing my mind. And I've done that a lot over the last several years. And the thing is, I think when we judge ourselves for changing our mind, we actually limit our growth and evolution."— Rachel Molenda 00:04:1600:04:31

The Power of Letting Go: "And I think you just have to go through a period of massive gripping and then that first leap of letting go to realize that you will be okay once you let go. And also remembering that the gripping is also painful. The reason that we grip is because we're so afraid of what's on the other side of it."— Rachel Molenda 00:06:2900:06:46

The Importance of Mental Wellness for Entrepreneurs: "going after our dreams and bringing our gifts to the world should not have to come at the cost of our mental wellness. This is BS. We're done with it."— Rachel Molenda 00:13:0800:13:16

The Importance of Soul Evolution: "I believe that we have all the interests, the passions, the desires that we do because they are meant to be part of our soul's evolution."— Rachel Molenda 00:29:0600:29:14

The Power of Community: "I think what we do really well in the well is that we normalize the experience. We normalize the ups and downs. So we aren't judging them because it's the judgment of them that actually makes it feel worse than it actually is. Whereas when you see that, we celebrate."— Rachel Molenda 00:33:1000:33:33

The Importance of Gratitude in Social Media: "Even one person that follows you, they are saying, hey, I'm here for whatever you're saying. I want more. That's huge. That's huge. We need to celebrate that more."— Rachel Molenda 00:37:4900:38:01

"Benefits of Community and Coaching: 'I love connecting with women who have a big dream on their heart or even like that inkling that, like, something might be there and just helping to show them what's possible. And I think when we are around other people that are doing the same, that it fills the belief that it can be possible.'" - Rachel Molenda 00:40:5300:41:09

  • This episode is with Kristin Hallett and today we are talking about life and death and what death has taught her about living. Kristin's work within her business, The Ellipsis Experience, holds space for clients to look at how far they have come, cherish each present moment and ask themselves “who do I want to be when I die?”

It is her destined hearts’ work to encapsulate the essence of each honoured muse, in written (plus auditory) form, to treasure and purposefully pass on. This discussion will inspire you to ask questions you may have never asked yourself. It will make you reflect on life (+ death) going forward and it most certainly will linger in your heart space. Kristin has that way about her.

Things we touch on in this episode:

Importance of addressing and processing unprocessed grief. Older generations suppressing grief. Misconception that engaging with grief consumes individuals. Grief becoming a part of one's being and making their soul stronger. Grief as soul work and the importance of engagement within oneself and in community. Sitting down with people to discuss their values and attach a legacy letter to a will. Kristin's clientele mostly composed of actively dying individuals. Transformative awakening through this experience. Bringing ceremony to the dying process. Helping people let go and accepting death as natural. Criticism of Western medicine's fight against death. Conversation about how individuals want to spend their last days. Changing the conversation around death to be more present in life. Trusting intuition and making decisions about one's own body. Significance of ceremonies and rituals in grieving. Society's dissociation from cultural practices. Differentiating between feeling happy and allowing oneself to feel. Gratitude for support and promotion of engagement. Sessions designed to shift perspective on death and fully live. Love letter representing essence, goals, dreams, and aspirations. Importance of healing in community and witnessing healing. Importance of community in grief and dying. Kristin's grief circles she holds.

    Notable quotes from Kristin:

The Importance of Conversations About Death: "And our fear of death, it links to everything, every choice we make in life, everything that's holding us back." Terminal Illness Care: "To walk someone home truly is the greatest honor ever." The Power of Expressing Love: "And it's those moments where I will let them know that they need to hear it. But back to the weight of it all...giving permission for them to tell a loved one...you can just let go, because we try and try to control so much and that's where the fear of death comes from. You can't control it and it will help you let go of that control just to simply love you." The Power of Grief: "There is a bottom. There is a bottom...You will find your way back. But it's active. It needs to be active in community and also within yourself to work through it." The Importance of Trusting Your Intuition: "You get to decide how your body leaves here. And I think that that's extremely important because time and time again we just give that autonomy up because it's new. But you can still trust your intuition and your gut because we are at the root of us meant for ceremony, all of us intrinsically." The Gift of a Love Letter: "Yes, come and do this session with me. You're going to end up with this incredible love letter... It's your essence of who you are. No matter what you do, you are still you on the inside with goals and dreams and aspirations... So it's better to look at as a security deposit of just a gift to them instead of making it go to the morbid side."

After nearly two decades of being misdiagnosed, finally we have a path forward to health and wellness...

Nelson had been misdiagnosed with anxiety & depression, until one day it took a severe downturn and almost took his life. Multiple tests, hurdles, scans and a tens of thousands of dollars later: Lyme disease, co-infections and environmental exposures are the culprits. He has learned about many paths around the health care system including conventional medicine, naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, Chiropractic and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Which led him to explore the true meaning of health and wellness. Professionally, practicing as a engineer before changing direction and applying his skills, knowledge and experience to "pioneering paradigm change".

As a powerful storyteller, Kerri loves to share the journey that life led her own family down, including the many hurdles they overcame in order to see the wisdom behind the challenges. Helping others re-awaken within, exposes the fact that we all do have a choice when it comes to our homes, our health and our environments by unplugging from the demanding technologically connected world and focus more on establishing fundamental roots to our mind, body and soul. Achieving balance in all aspects of life has become my daily inspiration.

This 'power couple' is homesteading, unschooling and pioneering their way back to simplicity. Building a life around the rhythms of nature in the country for themselves, their family and generations to come.

True health and wellness and the illusion of the medical system and scientism. We are passionate about sharing our journey back to self connection, true wellness and natural rhythms.

The impact of artificial environments (physical, mental, spiritual) on health and wellness.

Everyone has their own way to learn and gain wisdom, the ultimate goal may be the same but the path to understanding is unique to each. We have to learn to keep learning from each person we meet, each experience we encounter and weave it into the tapestry of our lives.

    More About Sarah:

After establishing her first Massage Therapy & Wellness Clinic at the age of 28, Sarah went on to grow her clinic to multiple 7 figures and a team of 30+ experts, and now works clinically only 4 hours per week because she chooses to. Sarah continues to practice massage and energetic healing modalities included in andean shamanism, breath work (pranyama) and therapeutic movement in Vernon, BC and online courses.

In her 20 year practitioner career she has always been guided to collaborate with multiple disciplines and curates care based on a body, mind and soul approach in retreat events and private consultation.

Now Sarah dedicates her passion, knowledge and experience to helping other health professionals and practice owners to realize their own goals and aspirations. Sarah coaches leadership through understanding team dynamics, weaving together her spa and clinical management experience as well as her private coaching and retreat event management background. She uses her industry expertise in business development and health plan programming in combination with her Human Design and Genekeys teaching career.

Karma Well Health was born from Sarah's passion that health and wellness industry leaders and multidisciplinary practitioners are stronger when in collective collaboration. Her experience with her membership based massage business taught her the value of creating a container of expectation for care but it also demonstrated how a business could provide the practitioner a place for them to thrive with predictable and reliable membership revenue. “I want to build a health care system within our healthcare system, based on a new ecology - a marketplace that teaches patients how to heal deliberately and consistently as a way of life. A system that is built by practitioners, for practitioners”.

  • Hey - Welcome to the podcast. Today’s episode is a co-creative conversation with Pam Rocca about alcohol —> social consumption, the “gray” area, choosing or not choosing to drink and our recent personal experience with going alcohol free.

Alcohol and women is a hot topic, kind of ‘fashionable’ so-to-speak and one that both Pam and I have been curious about for some time. So here we are – talking booze. There’s lots to unpack here and we'd love to hear from you. No judgement. All love.

We're all just trying to walk this path of life with as much soulfulness as possible (is that even a thing? If not, maybe it should be. lol)

    Here’s what we chat about:

An IG story that Pam posted recently that blew up her DM’s - all about taking a break from alcohol. Pam shares what she said and how her community responded.

Both Pam and Laura share their history with alcohol dating back to childhood.

The marketing message of alcohol and women.

The positive and negative feedback of alcohol consumption.

Determining whether you are better as a moderator or as an abstainer.

    Strategies that are working for us – in all settings {see below for specific resources + books}

Pam shares some things to reflect on, if you desire.

The physiologic effects of alcohol consumption.

How to support those in your circle that are working to reduce their alcohol consumption or go alcohol free.

How to connect with Pam + to work with her.
