Kim Griffith Jones, the sole employee of the Robinhood Foundation, fills the role of co-ordinator of this local NPO .
The foundation was founded 13 years ago by local businesswoman, Cindy Norcott. She realised that she was in a position to help needy mothers in the community by merely passing on the nearly new clothing that her baby had outgrown. With this idea, she mobilized friends and neighbours to contribute what they had, and so the Robinhood Foundation came to be.
Having grown considerably over the years, and being manned entirely by volunteers, the foundation did reach a point where a fulltime co-ordinator was required.
When this position became vacant a few years back, Kim was the successful applicant. You can hear the committment and passion that Kim has for her job as she tells of the work being done. She fully represents the values of the foundation and speaks with delight of the joy that it brings both giver and receiver when the Robinhood Foundation uplifts the community through their various projects.
If you would like to contribute your time and talents or if you would like to make a financial contribution , please contact The Robinhood Foundation

Professor David Verster is a passionate student and coach of Brazilian Jui Jiitsu.
He tells of his life journey through various figting disciplines, up to achieving his Carlson Gracie Black Belt and the establishment of the Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu gym in Durban.
David's passion for Jiu Jitsu very soon ignites a love of the sport in his new students. They start out looking to learn this effective form of self-defense, but are soon transformed from new member to friend and part of a very close-knit, caring "family". Each member plays a role in developing the skills of the other students. They grow in strength and confidence in all areas of their lives.
This fighting art is suitable for all, from young children through to the more "mature" citizen, people with large strong builds down to the smallest and "weakest".
The art of Jiu Jitsu teaches the advantage of using strategy and skill to overcome an aggressor rather than brute force. It is recognised worldwide as the single most effective form of self-defence.

So often the importance of the administrative team in an organisation is overlooked or undervalued.
Today Suzette Grobler, a research administrator who has 14 years experience in managing grants & contracts, gives us a better understanding of the vital role played by members of the administrative teams within an organisation.
Without the proper management and controls in place, funding for the research projects could well be withdrawn thereby bringing the very important research being carried out to a complete halt.
It is evident, therefore, that although not working on the "front line" of the research project, the administators have an indirect positive impact on the lives of the people benefitting from these projects.
