Thanks to MariGold Bars for sponsoring the "Stop & Give Me 5 Segment"âI really just want to empower women. I think that a lot of women have this mindset that everyone is each others competition, and Iâm a very big proponent that there is enough room for all of us.â
âAt the end of the day, health and nutrition is a science...there needs to be a level of empowering people to question what their doctors are saying to them and being their own health advocate, but also making sure that youâre using the right information.ââTime and energy are the two most valuable commodities in life...The same way that you budget out money, you have to learn to budget out your time and your energy.â

âI had a lot of good teachers and coaches very young that would bust my chops on a constant basisâŠIâve always been interested in any profession where you are constantly striving to improve performance and I landed here.â
âBe "Evidence Informed"⊠We canât be evidence based because sometimes we donât really know if there is evidence to prove that what we are doing is working, but weâre informed because we test and piece the things togetherâŠIf someone is losing body fat, whatever you are doing as an intervention is science.â

âAfter my husband died, Iâm trying to reach out to those individuals who donât think about heart disease or that chance of having a heart attack.â
âPeople need to understand that the signs and symptoms (for heart disease) vary drastically, not only between men and women, but people in general.â
âI would tell myself to love harderâŠwe get so wrapped up in everything going on with the day to day we just thought that was normalâŠYou need to put each other first, make time for each other."

âIt can become dangerous when certain fitness professionals who are down only one ârabbit holeâ become so defensive about that and are not open to anything else.â
âYou have no idea how much 30 seconds of showing genuine interest, especially in a child, what that might do. That might change their whole life.â
â(When it comes to reaching people) Itâs more about listening and responding thoughtfully as opposed to telling them what you think they want to hear.â

Thanks to MariGold Bars for sponsoring the "Stop & Give Me 5 Segment"The Stop and Give Me 20 Podcast features 20 minute interviews with some of the World's Top Fitness Professionals. Each show will start with their story of what led them into a fitness lifestyle; the spark that fueled their passion to help change lives through their fitness.
It moves into the "Superhero Section", where the conversation moves into 1) Who their biggest influences were growing up and who their real life Superhero was, 2) Who their Superhero is now- who in the world they look up to and who they are trying to emulate, and 3) Who they want to be Superheros to with their message.
We might discuss their opinions on what is happening in the fitness industry, good and bad, and where they might think itâs going. Sometimes we find out some of the books they are reading and seminars they are attending and what their takeaways are.
At some point in the show we always do the "Stop & Give Me 5" segment, and thatâs basically 5 rapid fire questions (not always rapid fire answers). Itâs a fun segment that we make personal to them to try to get an inside look about some of the things that they are interested in.
We finish each show with a "Letter to Your Younger Self", where guests are asked to give their younger self advice.

âWhen it comes to work-life balance, Itâs not a balance. Thatâs why people canât find it. Itâs actually called Work-Life Mastery. A balance implies that youâre going to have an equal weighting, and youâre not. As an entrepreneur youâre not going to have an equal weightingâŠyouâre going to have great sacrifice.â
âI love the Les Brown quote, "The graveyard is the richest place in the world because thatâs where so many hopes and dreams have gone to the grave unfulfilled.â
âStarting your day with a 15-90 minute block of deep work with no distractions is the best thing entrepreneurs can do to make everything else easier or better for your business. If you can get that victory early in the day, the rest of the day can go to heck in a hand basket.â
