On this episode of Stumps and Stories, Amrit Mathur joins Nishad Pai Vaidya to look back at his journey in Indian cricket. Mathur is a veteran cricket administrator, who has worked in the Indian system for over three decades. In 1992, he was appointed the manager of the Indian team for the path-breaking tour to South Africa. He then went on to manage the Indian team on a few subsequent tours and also worked as a COO with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) during the early years of the IPL. In this chat, Mathur looks back at the 1992 tour and also reflects on his various experiences. He recently wrote the book Pitchside, which gives an account of his journey in Indian cricket.

Rudie van Vuuren is a true all-rounder. A dual World Cup player - having represented Namibia in cricket and rugby - van Vuuren's life has been an incredible journey. In 2003, he played both the cricket and rugby World Cups for his country. During the Cricket World Cup, he got the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar, bagged a fifer against England and hit James Anderson for six. Post his competitive sporting career, he also went into conservation with his Naankuuse Foundation - which also attracted the interest of Angelina Jolie. van Vuuren is also a qualified medical doctor and has worked in the field on numerous causes. He is now the President of Cricket Namibia.
