Public toilets are unspeakably one of the filthiest places on earth as it is the place where countless of people relieve themselves of both big and small "problems". But somehow, Malaysia always seems to find itself being criticised heavily by both locals and foreigners over its public toilets.
Along with WeirdKaya's very own Jin Wen, host Sarah Yeoh discusses the reasons why Malaysians often don't clean up after themselves at public toilets and how this unsightly situation can be changed.
BONUS: We'll also talk about the worst scenes we've witnessed at public toilets so make sure you don't listen with a full stomach!

With Hari Merdeka just a week away, the issue of patriotism has cropped up once again following the Kuantan Municipal Council's (MBK) order that business owners hang the Jalur Gemilang or be fined RM250.
Amid claims that those who don't display the national flag do not love the country as much as they should, this begs the question - should these people be labelled as "unpatriotic"? And should they be forced into displaying their loyalty towards the country by displaying the Jalur Gemilang?
In this episode, host Sarah Yeoh shares her thoughts on the issue along with the message that patriotism is more than just hanging flags - rather, it's an emotion that can only come from within willingly.

Mental health. It's not a topic that most would want to talk about over a cup of coffee when there are "interesting" things to talk about such as food, travel, or the latest celebrity gossip.
But with news reports of more Malaysians facing mental distress and committing suicide, it has become all the more important to speak about what has long been seen as a taboo in Malaysian society.
With guest and certified counsellor Benice Malini, we discuss about why mental health is often left out of daily conversations, the efforts authorities are taking to address soaring suicide rates, and how one can comfort those who have lost a loved one to a premature death by suicide.

With WeirdKaya's very own interns Alicia and Shi Yuan, we will dive into the topics that we wished were taught to us during our schooling years along with amusing (and spicy) anecdotes too!

For most Asian families (Malaysians included), children who choose to enter the Art Stream or pursue a career rooted in arts are often met with discouraging and hurtful remarks, where they're told that they're "useless" or "have no future".
In this episode, we discuss the myths surrounding students in the Art Stream, the tragic consequences when well-meaning parents unwittingly break down their children's self-esteem through such remarks, and hopefully uncover the answer to this burning question: Is there really no future for Art Stream students https://open.firstory.me/user/cks49djccddm109805f9ra4co/comments

We all know the lyrics to Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" and P!nk's "Perfect", but how much do we actually believe the words that we sing along to?
In a society where everyone's fighting to find their self-esteem and value on social media, loving and accepting yourself 100% can prove to be an uphill battle, which can cause us to doubt or even tear ourselves down - even when we know we were created for so much more.
Along with guests Joseph and Jia Wie, we discuss the challenges of recognising and knowing one's self-worth in a society that favors outer beauty over inner character and how one can rise above these obstacles in forging a path towards loving yourself - warts and all.
