In this episode I interviewed David Shillington, Many of you know him as a former Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League. A Queensland State of Origin and Australian international representative prop forward, he previously played for the Sydney Roosters and Canberra Raiders.
David is now CEO of Wellbeing Code where he works to normalise conversations around mental health. He teaches how to re-frame mental health to treat it as a skill set can be trained, just like we train our physical health in order to feel and perform our best.
We speak about the mental challenges he faces being a professional athlete and how he managed money/mental health and how the image of playing professional sport has its challenges.
