  • When you split from a long-term partner, there’s a real period of grief you’ll experience. No one ever goes into a marriage thinking that it’ll end, and when the unthinkable happens, it’s normal to feel lost and lonely—your world has been uprooted entirely, but life just keeps going on. So what do you do with your time when, for the first time in a long time, you find yourself single? We’ve been there, Bestie, and while it isn’t easy, there’s a lot of beauty that can be found in being on your own.

  • Y’all know that we want to stay as healthy (and as hot) as we can for as long as we can, and a large part of that is our dental health. We’ve been taking our oral health seriously lately, and clearly, you need to hear all about it. But really, there’s nothing more humiliating than having ass-breath and as your Official Internet Besties, we needed to share our best teeth tips and tricks so you never have to worry about it.

We talk a little about the possibility of doing a retreat with all of our Besties, looking forward to our dogs’ extracurricular activities, and our favorite (and by that we mean our least favorite) subject—aging. Somehow, we just keep getting older, but we’re doing everything we can to cut that shit out. • We know the internet is full of people who say shit they don’t even believe just to rile us up, but damn does it get to us sometimes. There’s a new wave of men out there that think women who are single over the age of 30 can’t be happy, and if you’re a woman, you know how bullshit that idea is. We LOVE men, but sometimes they really piss us off. Yes, being in a relationship can make us happy, but it’s not the only thing that makes us happy, and at this point we’s be just fine without boyfriends. The men we’re in relationships with add so much to our lives, but our relationships aren’t the only things that give our lives meaning. And besides, how sad would it be if they only thing keeping us with our partners was the fear of being alone. We’ve been single over 30, and we’ve been in relationships over 30, and the presence of a man didn’t make much of a difference in our contentment with life.

  • Looks aren’t everything—but that doesn’t mean they don’t matter. But are you a bad person for turning someone away for the way they look? It’s normal to have physical preferences in a romantic partner, and of course you’re never an asshole for having them, but in our experience, for the right person, you’ll be willing to make some sacrifices on physical appearance. We’d rather look for a few really great personal qualities and a less than perfect body than a Greek God with the personality of a piece of cardboard.

  • We love talking about relationships on this show, and that interest started with the upheaval we faced when our respective marriages ended due to infidelity. What we never realized was that that experience was a traumatic event for us—the kind of event that permanently alters our mental and emotional states. Dealing with betrayal and infidelity felt so lonely and isolating almost a decade ago as we went through it, but now there are people like Lindsay Haverslew, aka The Betrayal Trauma Therapist, who are normalizing and educating people on the real traumas of betrayal, and helping other people like us rewrite our stories with happy endings. We were so excited to talk with her about all-things infidelity and betrayal, and how people in the thick of their heartbreak can begin a journey towards healing.

  • Would you date someone with a history of addiction? We all have different feelings about addictions, and different histories with addictive substances. We don’t believe that struggling with addiction is a moral failing that makes you a bad person, but we do know that addictions impact relationships in big ways, and should be taken seriously. • We have a love-hate relationships with Threads. It’s a fascinating app with some of the worst rage-bait and hot takes, but we fall for it every time. Recently we saw a post about the idea that women, after a certain age, need to be dressing “age appropriate.” If you know anything about us, you’ll know what comes next: fuck that shit. We’ve always been live-and-let-live kind of people, and especially when it comes to what someone wears, we find ourselves thinking, who even gives a shit? If you don’t want to wear a mini-skirt as an old lady, then don’t! But it’s not your job to judge whether someone is dressed “correctly” for their age.

  • Everyone “knows” the right things to do in life when their own lives are great. What if your life is falling apart—should you still be giving advice then? Or accepting advice from people who don’t live perfect lives? Giving and receiving advice is always a touchy subject, especially when it isn’t asked for. But even someone who has no idea what they’re doing can have some wisdom to impart, even if that wisdom is just “never do what I’m doing.”

  • Once upon a time we used to think that people who used ads for their businesses or personal brands were somehow “cheating.” Now, we just wish we had started using them earlier. We all know the algorithm is unpredictable now and even when people follow us, we can’t guarantee that they’ll see our content. Not to mention the fact that if we want to scale our businesses in meaningful ways, we need to get in front of new eyes! Ads don’t have to be a get-rich-quick scam—when used the right way, they can get your content in front of the right eyes at the right time. We call that a win-win.

  • We’ve done a lot of work to face our own insecurities, and for the most part, we’re very comfortable and confident with ourselves. Despite our best efforts, we still feel the sting of insecurity sometimes. Bodies, brains, businesses… it’s easy to compare. • We are officially in a recession and it costs an arm and a leg each day, just to be alive. The idea of a recession alone can get people closing their wallets and preparing for the worst… but it doesn’t have to be that way. Abundance is possible no matter what the economy is looking like, and it all begins with our mindsets and choosing to invest in ourselves. • There are times in our lives when we have difficult decisions to make, but we’re unsure of the way forward. How can we know what the right thing to do is? What if we choose wrong and everything is ruined? The thing is, there’s no such thing as the “wrong” decision. The answers are rarely clear, and you may feel evenly split among your choices, but that doesn’t make any choice “right” or “wrong.” You just make a choice, trust yourself to handle the outcome, and come what may. Your future self always has your current self’s back.

As Erin Holt, aka The Funk’tional Nutritionist, tells us, function medicine is about focusing on the root causes of illness, rather than simply treating symptoms. For so long, traditional medicine has been gate-keeping our health, so Erin has built a business helping us become active participants in our own health journeys, while also training other nutrition providers the importance and impact of functional nutrition. But Erin didn’t come here just to talk about nutrition, she’s also a bad-ass entrepreneur and shares her insights on navigating visibility, criticism, and the emotional aspects of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the need for mentorship and personal growth in the journey. • Lately, Danny has been taking more girls’ trips in an effort to maintain some individuality outside of her relationship. We love our partners, and we love nurturing them, but when your sole sense of self is tied to your partner and their needs, your own sense of self and your needs start getting ignored, and before you know it, resentment starts growing. We were raised to be people pleasers, and while we’re so great at making others happy, it’s a lot harder to bring that same level of care to ourselves. Ultimately, the only person in charge of how you feel is *you* and if you’re starting to resent your partner, family, friends, coworkers, or really anyone in your life, it’s up to you to make a change and learn to prioritize the things you need before you worry about everyone else.

  • We all know social media is full of smoke & mirrors but, like clockwork, we’re seeing a new disturbing trend: influencers sharing their “mindset transformations” without being upfront about how they’re actually transforming—with the help of weight loss drugs and other procedures. Maybe honesty doesn’t make you as much money online, but we’re gonna keep doing it our way.

  • Look, Bestie, we never want to say we’re better than you. Buuuuuuut Danny’s been meditating every single day for a month, so…. Kidding, of course, but these last 30+ days have been life changing for her. What started out as a years-long unfulfilled promise turned into curiosity, which turned into a real, daily practice that feels like the kind of peace you get while taking a Valium. No kidding. If you’ve ever been curious about meditating, let this be your time to start.

    Starting a meditation journey [0:58]

One “woo” out of two [2:56]

Testing out a new meditation app [6:11]

    A natural valium [8:26]

Getting out of your head daily [12:05]

Becoming a more kind, loving person to yourself [13:39]

    The power in consistency [15:29]

    Does this shit work? [18:00]
