Martin Kent a.k.a 'Ace' is the guitarist and songwriter for British rock band Skunk Anansie. Skunk Anansie formed in 1994 and would become one of the biggest rock bands in Britain and Europe during the 90's. Martin is also Professor of Music Industry at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. We chatted about songwriting, how to keep a band together for 30 years, and what happened the time Lemmy from Motörhead orchestrated his stag party.

Pat Pattison is a Professor at Berklee College of Music. He he has been teaching Lyric Writing and Poetry for over 50 years. He has written four books on songwriting, one of which titled “Writing Better Lyrics” has sold more copies worldwide than any other book about songwriting. Guitar World Magazine called Alex Skolnick one of the greatest guitarists of all time and in this episode, he joins us from New York City to talk about his illustrious music career. Alex was one of the founding members of heavy metal band Testament, who along with Metallica and Exodus were among the biggest heavy metal bands to come out of the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980’s.
