Some of us younger addicts feel a different sort of isolation because of our age. Being young in recovery is not easy, but it is 100% worth it. We are not alone. We have a chair in the rooms of recovery no matter the drugs we used, no matter the length of time we used, no matter how deep our bottom was.
In this episode, I share parts of my story and stories from other young addicts (published in NA literature).

This episode, featuring my dad, gives a parent and young adult perspective on parenting an addict. We analyze what thoughts were going on in our head years ago during my addiction while I was wreaking havoc on my family, and what thoughts we have about it all now. My dad even gives advice to those struggling with children who are addicts. If you or someone you know might have a drug problem, call the SAMHSA national helpline at 1-800-662-4357Reach out to Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction's 100% confidential hotline at 479.553.9459 for Narcan/naloxone and other life-saving supplies. Remember, this is an educational podcast, not a promotion for any 12-step program. I hope this recording can give you some insight on my perspective, experience, and what has worked for me. It was an honor to get to speak about carrying the message. Thank you ARVANA convention for welcoming me.

Recovery doesn't guarantee that we won't still come across struggles and hard times in our lives... we have to learn how to get through them differently than we did in our addiction. In this episode, I talk about different common struggles in recovery and how I have gotten through them.

Today, we are talking about an often taboo subject in recovery. I talk about some differing perspectives on the use of medications in times of illness, whether that is physical illness or mental illness.
-The pamphlets I referenced are "In Times of Illness" and IP #30 "Mental Health in Recovery".
