  • The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting an 'above-normal' hurricane season saying there could be as many as 25 named storms, the most they have ever predicted. NOAA attributes the prediction to a number of factors including warmer than normal ocean temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean and La Nina conditions in the Pacific. The expected heavier than normal hurricane season comes at a time when the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is warning the agency could be facing a budget shortfall this year.

The IDF has disputed that the deaths were caused directly by the strike, suggesting nearby stored munitions are to blame.   • A second American has plead guilty to two counts of ammunition possession in the island nation of Turks and Caicos after authorities found two bullets in his luggage. The Virginia man, Tyler Wennrich, became the fifth American since February to be detained and charged under a law in the country that imposes a 12-year minimum jail sentence for possession of ammunition. A Congressional delegation traveled to Turks and Caicos last week and spoke to officials there about the Americans detained by the harsh law.
