With our previous movie, it was a great idea executed terribly. This movie is fittingly the mirror opposite. A terrible idea executed brilliantly. This is just an excellent movie but the premise just begs so many unanswered questions. It follows Jordan Peeles great idea of facing cultural issues through a distorted lens, much like the twilight zone that inspired this film. Another social horror, and one that just makes us want to see whats next from this man. he clearly has an appreciation for the classics.

Itās a wonderful night, youāre hanging out with your friends, and everyone is talking about a comet passing by. Then you suffer a neighbourhood blackout and find yourself in the intersection of an excellent episode of the twilight zone, and a terrible improv show. and the only house you can see from your own house isā¦..your own house. Realities of various states are unravellled and nobody might be who they think they are. Itās an excellent concept. Too bad the first sign things are in bad hands, is that the title is the opposite of what is actually happening. But at least we get a cutting room floor skit out of it :)

What happens when you take the dangers of dating, the desperation for side hustle in a gig economy, and the stigma of vegetarianism, and combine it in a quirky dark comedy thriller seasoned with a tongue in cheek soundtrack? You get a movie that really hits so many night notes it only hits lows created by itās heights. We really enjoyed watching this, and talking about it. Plus Mike unleashes his social reform manifesto that has no problems whatsoever.

Unlike the janitor of this film, we have a lot to say about Willyās Wonderland. Totally not a rip off of 5 nights at Freddyās or the Banana Splits Movie, or Childās Play. This movie is SOOOO much its own thing, with likeable characters and a coherent plot with justified motivations. And the conversations i had with Nic Cage in this episode are absolutely 100% real, and this episode is short.

Itās just Alicia in the studio with Mike but John didnāt miss much as we covered a mid movie this week. But the episode is good as always! This movie is a Diablo Cody joint, and directed by Zelda Williams. but thereās only one of these ladies at fault, and its not Zelda. This movie never lands its tone correctly but the aesthetic is pretty damn flawless, and true to life. Particularly the life of Alicia, in terms of Lisaās wardrobe and basic vibe. But Alicia hasnāt been caught for her crimes yet so thatās one point for her :)
